The Wybourne kids one,got me,as I lived there from 1968 to 1973 from being born to age 5. My twin brother died in 1969 of the Hong Kong flu pandemic. This picture could well be at around that period. My mother is Irish, and this was her first home in England. She said the area was rundown but the people were the friendliest, and most supportive. The video is brilliant. It shows we are living in an ever changing world. Things seem to be changing more rapidly these days, and sadly I don't think that it is really in our best interests any more.
This video remind me of so many things. I was born in 1935, close to Hillsborough Park and Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. I loved them both, but my parents moved the family, including me, overseas in 1952 . I have missed them both ever since.
Loved that last bus clip. As if they were more than just buses. They were on a mission to get Sheffielders home. Like a rescue.. now there isn't anything in our best interest..
It looked like great fun Sure the drivers thought so.remember Catching one of these after a night out at Romeo and Juliet on bank st or top rank on Arundel gate. Ect . Great memories and some not so great. 🥴
I never caught one of these. I had to be in by 11.30, unless I came home with a group of us girls who all ived within 2 or 3 streets of each other. We would pile into a taxi & share the fare from the Heart-beat or Penny Farthing Clubs. Now, they WERE Happy days.❤
awesome. Yes I remember clogging on last bus. All us bus drivers just wanted to get passengers home and get home ourselves.

I’m 77 & I’ve never seen that before. I didn’t know they all left at the same time.😊

Hiya Ann. It’s a brilliant clip. Once that whistle went it was like a formula one race start to the lights. 😂

Thank you Margaret. Great history we have.
Wonderful pictures. Lovely music. The combination of the two got me quite emotional.
Thanks David, glad you liked it.
Remember the days of bus inspectors when they were figures of authority. Yes, the final whistle, end of a night out when pubs closed at 10:30!
