    Nice for a Diaper Bag. Lucky Mom that gets to use this one. Yes I've enjoyed your tote bag series. I like small projects.

    Thank you, Jean! I made a recessed zipper for a bag years ago. This was a very easy way to make a bag. You explained things very well!

    All your totebags turned out very adorable n pretty. You did a great job! I like the idea of pleated pockets. One can really put more in them that way. Looking forward to the next quilt tutorial. From Lisa

    Hi Jean. This is the way I taught myself to do it as I couldn't ever get the zippers right before. I am going to polish my skills watching you do this. Thank you.

    Love the bag. I think this type of zipper with the tab allows you to open the bag bigger. As always awesome job.

    Hello Jean! Clever of you to have the pockets slightly above the bottom to make room for clothes, a blanket and such. Well, you did have 10 kids, you have some experience. 😏

    HI Jean, so I know there must be some mathematical equation or relation to know if your boxed corners are 5", how do you know how much the fabric on each side of the zipper for an inset zipper closure should be? I can't seem to figure this out.

    • @jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory
      @jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory  4 роки тому

      I think the answer is that it doesn't matter how wide the bottom of your bag is (the boxed corners) the zipper installation stays about the same - each side finishing at about 2 1/2". Making about a 5 - 6" wide zipper top to inset into the top of the bag. Hope this makes sense. Because the bag, however boxed the bottom is, will naturally 'narrow' at the top anyway due to the construction.

      Thanks for subbing Kathy! I have gotten my fabric from all over the place! And for many many years now! This fabric is at least 15 - 20 years old!! I don't throw away anything. If I purchase new fabric I like equilter.com (online) They have a wonderful selection and very user friendly website to navigate. I have NEVER been disappointed with the quality of fabric or the selection or the customer service! :)

    Jean, I know this is a little off topic. I remember a while ago you did a little “info” on Kai scissors. I tried looking for that episode, but was unable to find it. Could you possibly help me out. Thank you. Hope all is well with you and your family.

    • @jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory

      I don't know about 'Kai'' scissors, but I was talking about scissors from Karen Kay Buckley called 'perfect scissors'. They are wonderfully sharp with a micro serrated edge ~ perfect for control. I love the 6 inch ones. You can get them online. Thanks Linda:) All the best to you and keep safe:)

      Thanks Jean. Guess my memory isn’t so great. Have a wonderful day. I will check that brand. Looking to treat myself to new scissors.
