I like the ideas of stainless shelf cover and salvage drum so the solvent or whichever solution chosen doesn’t have to stay in top of tub I’m not sure if I’ll need the battery yet but I just got an Eastwood 40g and need put it together so this is the best examples I’ve seen to have thanks
thanks for the honesty bro. I have some more cool tool vids coming out with some builds. If you would like to help me out please subscribe if you find my content interesting. Stay safe!! Thanks
battery last for a continuous run over 1 hour. I only use it for a few minutes at a time. Last me a month before I have to recharge with a battery charger.
@@hybridmusclegarage4590 I thought it might have been part of a toxic clean up set or something but nooo...I bought a 6 gallon bucket from Grainger a couple year ago and that was $60. There are some really nice sump pump liners with flat bottoms for $30 from Walmart and Homo Despot....Sometimes you want to purchase what fits the purpose and it is easiest just to use what the other person used. Thanks for the info and inspiration...
Great build! Going to build one too. What model fuel pump (part number please), did you use and is it still working well? Look forward to your response, thanks.
Im not affiliated with amazon. thats why I have no links. If your interested in building one just like this I can send you all the part links. This works flawlessly still today with no issues. Let me know!. And thank you for the sub. You rock!!!!
Just a thought on the venting of the drum. If your pumping fluid from it. The drum should not capitate. Due to it being sealed. As it pumps fluid from the drum. Should create suction from the drain on your washer tub sucking fluid back in. Thay should be a good thing as the suction should help keep clumps from clogging your drain line back to the drum. Again. Just a thought you may want to consider. . .
The vent I put at 08:12 is to keep it so it dont capitate. If there was no vent it would capitate due to fluid in the return line constantly. I never keep standing solvent in the tank as it will eat the powder coat. After each use, I wipe it down completely. Last longer and looks new every time I use it. Thanks
I see what you just said, Never thought of it that way LOL. Your right. Thanks again. But honestly I open the vent every time i use it. Next I will leave it closed and see if it creates a suction.
Great video and lots of good ideas here. I wonder, just thinking about the stainless steel top you added, if such a build could be done using a salvaged gas grill. Often find these discarded on the curb in our town, or at the thrift shops or Good Will stores. These are about the right size for a parts washer, complete with a stand or cabinet underneath. You could use the top cover of the grill as storage space for the tools and brushes you would use to clean your parts. May be even add a light for better illumination of the work space. Anyway, just a thought. Thanks for sharing your project.
Im sure you could use grill parts, just modify as needed. This was an easy build. Good luck, keep me posted on what you come up with. Thanks for watching.
I really like that build. One other thing that for me I would like to Dino’s add a heater to it. Though it might not be a good thing for certain cleaners.
I keep one on mine as well. I just did not post it cause I did not think about it till after the build LOL. what parts washer did you use? Thanks for watching!
@@stevejohnson1331 Cool. I find Homak to be a good brand. might not be in cheap/budget range, but well worth it. I put to much money in this, but am very happy with it. Wait to see what im doing to a blast cabinet coming up. Yes Im over doing that as well!!
Well done my friend! Have watched a few videos and I like yours the best. Just bought a 40 gallon washer and have not used it yet. I'm going to use some of if not all of your mods before I fire it up. Only concern I have is which solvent to use. How stinky is this stuff? Does it smell up the garage when you are using it? Do you need to wear a mask or is it Ok without one? I never used to care about that when I was younger but as I have gotten older I seem to have become more sensitive to chemical odors. Have had good success with citrus based cleaners but I know they don't work as well as solvent.
I am older now as well. odors kill me now. Use what I got in the video. Cleans excellent and very low odor. Great stuff. Please help my channel by subscribing so I can grow. THANKS
I'm looking into building a parts washer and have some questions... Why did you leave the submersible pump in the basin? Actually, why did you leave the the shelf in the basin? Couldn't you remove them both and have BIG deep parts washing basin? Good build. I really like your design.
1. there is a hole on the side of the tank where the pump box goes. Pump box covers hole. 2. I really dont need a big deep tank. Its only for transmission parts. When i do need a deep tank, shelf comes out easy. Best of both worlds!! Thanks for watching.
Those water based cleaners do… sort of… work. But, it has to be HEATED so hot that you virtually don’t want to stick your hands in it! Union shop I worked at a decade ago forced the transition to the damn things. For some reason our brake clean usage went way up after that! Go figure.
Your right, only very heated they work kinda well. I love brake clean but very $$$$. This set up is perfect and cleans very well. I did not think the solution would clean well, but was very surprised. Thanks for the comment!
I like how the socks still have the shape of feet in them, so I assume you're recording barefoot 😂
🤣 Im going to pin your comment
Haha fresh off his feet.😂😂
Good work! Having better tools is always a plus.
so true.
Thanks. I have a bad habit of over building everything LOL
Best modded parts cleaner video so far.
WOW, really great build. Impressive.
Thanks. its awesome. Im impressed myself
Hybridization is the THING!!
Nice video, and everyone want better tools and more POWER!
lol
Thanks man
Cool engineering. I just subscribed! 👍🏼
Awesomeness thanks.
Thats one heck of a build!

Nice...very well-thought- out job... Thanks for the great ideas...
If you copy this, you will thank me later.
Hey where did you pickup the dual oil filter bracket, pump and fittings going into the Eagle tank?
Great video and job on the build!
I made the bracket from flat 4in Aluminum and got fittings from hardware store. Pump is from Amazone. just a 8PSI carter fuel pump
Thanks for the info!
Fantastic mods, man! Looks (and works) like a million bucks. Respect from Texas

@@hybridmusclegarage4590 Done.
And what is keeping the battery from dying?

Wow!...awesome😍
Thanks
Great job!
Thanks. I tend to over build things LOL
On the tub drain, what is the thread pitch that you have the adapter/ball valve screwed into?
That’s awesome bro!! Great thinking! Also can I keep that sock when your done!? Lol
I will save a sock for you lol
Wow! That is nearly a $100 bucket you are using for the reservoir......
$30 on amazon when I bought it. Its not worth $100 if thats what they are going for now. Thats crazy!!

Nice Build. Question... What is the height of the top of the shelf below to the underneath of the washer tub?

Thanks for quick response and link. Will start ordering parts.

It vents through the open to atmosphere return line. It’s not a sealed system.
This is a sealed system. I have a open/close vent on the tank. I only open it when I am using the pump.

HUH lol!!
What is the part number of the transfer pump (lift pump) and where to buy it
Awesome video

You should sell the kit. Looks great.
Just Damn!!

Why didn't you just make the exact same shelf from the stainless piece?
cause im Lazy 🤣 Thanks for watching
although, why not use a AC DC converter to 12 volt so you don't have to buy batteries all the time.
It runs on a motorcycle battery that last for hours of use. I just recharge as needed.
