I get the vibe that the intention of this video is to show how hard it is to be yourself in this world, and any attempt to be a 'human' will be frowned upon by society. I think I get the symbolism behind this music video. See, the iconic helmets of Daft Punk are meant mostly to secure their identities from the bashing of media. It allows them to refrain from having bad photographs taken of them and it allows them to remain silent when they don't want to say anything out of fear that they will be misquoted or have what they said distorted by the media. in other words, the robots are meant to prevent controversy. With that in mind, I think this video is a representation of Daft punk's wishes to just be left alone and to have the world not care about who they are behind the masks. In the reality presented to us, the masks are just a normal part of everyone's life. But when the daft punk guys have human face masks overlapping their supposed "faces" in this world, kind of the reverse of the real world situation, suddenly everybody is wondering what the hell is wrong with them. Everyone wants in on why they're making a questionable decision, and in an attempt to just be themselves they instead just get bashed for trying a new thing. The ending represents that no matter what kind of mask they hide behind, they are what they are. But the helmets, in a way, are not only security for their real faces but are a significant part of their identity now. Maybe the helmets are not only keeping something from getting out, but they are also helping something deeper about these guys come out as well.

Sometimes, we feel lost or hopeless in life. We tend to just feel like each day is passing and fleeting. This song almost seems to just express a familiar feeling of needing to look "within" to remember who we are. We must not forgot who we are because, then we have forgotten who we can become and where we can go. We could have all the choices (doors, rooms) in the world, but unless we look within and understand who we are, those doors will all look the same. It wouldn't matter which we chose unless we knew which rooms we wanted to enter. Look within. ^_^
I'm so glad that they went out on a magnum opus like random access memories. Some people like homework. Some people like discovery, but to me, random access memories has to be one of if not the best album ever recorded, not just by daft punk. Absolute masterpiece. It's like they are disguising themselves as normal people because they want to live a normal life now outside of the mask, but wherever they go, they see the impact they created, us the fans. Then they look at themselves in the mirror and ask the question, "Will this always be who we are?"....
From what I understood, I felt like this video is them considering they are normal human beings and they feel like they gotta be something different from the world, so they put on the mask to feel and look different, but when the heat of sun melts the mask, people started behind them. Moral of the lesson is, no matter how different you are, the world will find something wrong in you and only one weakness and they will use that against you, which sometimes results in hiding from all that shit, like they both did in the end.

Sometimes, we feel lost or hopeless in life. We tend to just feel like each day is passing and fleeting. This song almost seems to just express a familiar feeling of needing to look "within" to remember who we are. We must not forgot who we are because, then we have forgotten who we can become and where we can go. We could have all the choices (doors, rooms) in the world, but unless we look within and understand who we are, those doors will all look the same. It wouldn't matter which we chose unless we knew which rooms we wanted to enter. Look within. ^_^
I'm so glad that they went out on a magnum opus like random access memories. Some people like homework. Some people like discovery, but to me, random access memories has to be one of if not the best album ever recorded, not just by daft punk. Absolute masterpiece. I just wish I could have appreciated them more when they were together

Edit: DUDE this video is insane. It's like they are disguising themselves as normal people because they want to live a normal life now outside of the mask, but wherever they go, they see the impact they created, us the fans. Then they look at themselves in the mirror and ask the question, "Will this always be who we are?"....
From what I understood, I felt like this video is them considering they are normal human beings and they feel like they gotta be something different from the world, so they put on the mask to feel and look different, but when the heat of sun melts the mask, people started behind them. Moral of the lesson is, no matter how different you are, the world will find something wrong in you and only one weakness and they will use that against you, which sometimes results in hiding from all that shit, like they both did in the end.
