Not going to lie, as much as I try to imitate the voices of most of the Beast Wars roster, Megatron is the one I seem to both do really well AND have as much fun as David Kaye probably had when voiced Megs. According to my recordings, though, the one I can perfectly imitate is Tarantulas (probably due to my insane ability to imitate the voices of creepy characters), which disturbed me when I heard it. Still, David Kaye’s a legend for Meg’s voice and it’s so much fun quoting him and putting on his voice (I’ve even done it specifically to make a conversation more interesting or fun), yessssssss.
As a child of the 90s this hits all the right buttons for me. Thank you! The voices of Beast Wars are so iconic that in my mind it's the only way these characters are supposed to sound.
I didn't mind some of the voices (hell I think black aracina much have had the same voice acting) but some of the voices where HORRIABLE. I mean I get they couldn;t get the voice actors in but coulda they have at least tried to match the................. vocal personality, for lack of a better term?
If you think about it, Kingdom was the closest we ever got to hear Peter Cullen and Gary Chalk talk to each other. Thank you Netflix, for your -1000 IQ voice acting choices

I forced my future wife to watch it with me ages ago... she was... not impressed with the show as she'd rather watch Anne of Green Gables, but she did like the guitar music in the show and called our van Silverbolt. I tried my hand at a little voice acting on my own channel too... for what it's worth... only about 5 minutes worth or so... I'm no voice actor but tried to do Dinobot, Megatron G1 and BW Megatron having a conversation in Kingdom...
I don't know if voice talent was really the issue with the Netflix adaption. There were some poor casting choices, in my opinion. Also, killing off certain characters wasn't the best idea either.
That’s a little harsh. Non-union actors can be just as good as union actors. The issue is these characters and their voices are very iconic. Sometimes it’s better to just do a whole new take rather than ask someone to do an imitation of an outstanding actor who is still alive.

I'd probably swap out everybody but Starscream to be honest. At least that person was trying to sound like the origina(now deceased)l actor. Might keep G1 Megatron too. Even though he didn't sound like Frank Welker, it was a decent interpretation and sounded right for the character

frank todaro is his name?? yeah he was an mvp, easily my favorite chris latta sound-alike i've ever heard. g1 starscream isn't... well, screaming 100% of the time, he has a slightly more calm speaking voice and he nailed it!

There was fundamentally nothing wrong with making Beast Megatron a fanboy of OG per se. True, it's not like the original, but in of itself, there was nothing wrong with that idea. No, the problem is the execution. He became a goon and a simp with the appropriate unrespectable voice. Didn't have to be David Kaye, but he could still be a fanboy of OG Megs while still being the smooth, charismatic, faux-polite megalomaniac that we know him to be. That did not need to change. THAT is what make him being a fanboy here so bad: not the idea, but the delivery

If Pred Megatron were human, he'd be wearing an armani suit, and drinking cognac from an elegant snifter, possibly with a high-quality cigar in the fingers of his offhand. Even when he was being evil and savage he had CLASS and poise and panache. He was NEVER just a goon. That's what this rendition failed to capture.

This brings back memories of when I would always watch Beast Wars when I was a kid. I didn't like the story so much, but the characters and their voices, definitely ear worthy, especially hearing Megatron's "YEEEESSSSS" lines.

Such a missed opportunity, especially with the recast of Optimus Primal and Predacon Megatron. It would have been one thing if they had went an entirely different direction but the actors tried to recreate the styles of both original characters and missed the marks.
You must be from a different timeline. In my timeline the new BW Megatron sounds like a raspy sniveling henchman and the new Optimus Primal sounds like a big dumb angry henchman. Feels like they went in an entirely different direction.

Much, MUCH better. One of the most important and easily the best things about Beast Wars that still holds up today is the voice acting. Because you had an immensely talented and energetic voice director like Susan Blu to help coach and direct the talent that she recruited and every performance counted and not a single performance felt flat or unwelcome. Everyone from Scott Mcneil to David Kaye really helped the show immensely and by just allowing them to help create characters that for years become the brand's most iconic and beloved part of Beast Wars. I feel like Kingdom (and the entire WFC Trilogy) lacked a voice director that could push the talent to a certain limit and help them make the characters than just do a series of voices, because it's not their fault their performances ranged from flat to miscasted. It's the show's fault that it didn't have a great voice director to help get the talent out of who they hired.
Most of the voices in kingdoms is reasonable but the worse was BW Megatron, he sounded awful but then his character felt kind of off as he seemed to be fixated on the original owner of the name!
@@tommenno Oh the irony… see, before Inferno was created, the idea was for him to actually be a new body for Megatron. That’s why there’s a scene where the two collide and their heads swap as a reference to the discarded idea.
So much more personality back then. All the new voices melt together. With the exception of Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Dinobot, Wheel jack, Ratrap, and "Predacon Leader".
I grew up around my 90s brother and sister, despite being an early 2000s child. This. Hit. EVERYTHING!!! It feels good listening to the Beast Wars voices instead of that garbage

(Voices, sound effects, background music scores) Wish they’d have kept the original CGI models… I’d rather go back to watching Beast Wars altogether, just wish we would get a 4K up scaled version with a steelbook release. I hope they at least do a Blu-ray release in 2026, for that will be the 30th anniversary of Beast Wars. The whole reason that the Kingdom Line had the Beast Wars characters was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the show, so why not do it for the 30th anniversary as well?

This is such good relief. Hearing my beloved Beast Wars characters with new animations but maintain the OG voice actors is just a cherry on top. Because I just finished watched Kingdom today, I thought it was the better chapter out of the three chapters, but it's still lacking in the voice acting department to making it more impactful. But the video really made me happy and smiled because when I played my Beast Wars toys, I'm still attached to the original Beast Wars voices not the new ones in Kingdom that Rooster Teeth and Neflix butchered.
The fact that people hate on the old voices and Beast Wars in the comments goes to show how much I hate the 80's now. 0:16 Me when a Geewunner hates Beast Wars.

Would've loved to see this happen. Hoping some how, some way, the OGs get to reprise their incredible interpretations of these characters again some day. More need to keep in mind, Rooster Teeth actually produces and budgets the show. Netflix is only the distributor.
Man, screw Rooster Teeth, can somebody please take Transformers away from Rooster Teeth? Most of their stuff are so mediocre in term of writing and it really showed in WFC trilogy. TF Prime is probably last show to have good writing and well developed characters thanks to being made into full seasons and not just 6 episodes per season.

Seeing the Autobots and Decepticons interacting with the Maximals and Predacons is a dream come true. I feel this should have happened ages ago. But as the old saying goes; better late than never.
I actually really liked Blackarachnia, Dinobot, Rattrap, Airazor and Rhinox voice acting since they were pretty good and mostly spot on. Liked Dinobot new voice. However nothing beats the original and really hope we get Kaye for rotb
News Flash: There won’t even be Predacons in the film. Instead it’s Terrorcons, and they’re all new characters that seem more like G1 Terrorcons. The good news is we WILL get Cheetor, Airazor, Rhinox, and Primal. Even better is Rhinox will be voiced by David Sobolov (the original Depth Charge) and Ron Perlman returns as Primal.
@@B-rex395 Yeah. Sad, but… it’s said there were plans for two sequels. Obviously this wouldn’t happen for a while due to ongoing stuff, but if the film got two sequels, then maybe they could show up in the future. So far we got Primal, Rhinox, Airazor, and Cheetor for Maximals. Scorponok was the only Predacon featured. If sequels are greenlit, then more from both factions could be brought in. Not holding my breath on that one, but it’s not out of the question.
I really really wish Netflix would have invested in the property to bring back these voice actors. It's just not the same at all without the right voices
It's really well done, but having seen both series I can't help but flinch as the dialogue does not match what they're actually saying. Now if someone could impose the Beast Wars voices directly over the Kingdoms script..... OMG
Some of them weren’t that bad I liked Dinobot, Rat trap “he had his accent!”, and blackarachnia. As well as Star Scream, megatron “i wish he could’ve spoken like he did in prime wars”, bumblebee, prowl, jetfire/ skyfire, and wheel jack “also had the accent”. I didn’t like ironhide I wish he swapped with hound, and Optimus prime of course. I HATE BW Megatron only thing I liked is that he said “yesss”. Other than that I thought the cast was “ok” with a few great voices.
Instead of having the same theme through the introduction they should have just the remix of the beast wars theme. And also I think the beast wars voicing was much better then the Autobots and the decepticons.
Sigh what could have been especially since Gary Chalk,David Kaye and Scott McNeil love quoting their characters still a shame we didn’t get Waspinator or Tarantulas just to pad out the Predacons more besides the scorponok clones and the fact we didn’t get a single we’re all gonna die from Rattrap
To Netflix's credit Blackarcachnia, Rattrap, and Airrazor were pretty good fits. Beast Wars Megatron though, no way, and Tigatron and Dinobot sound like they should have switched actors.
Megatron was the biggest let down, with Dino Bot being the second biggest. Oh, and the lack of SilverRachnia. But aside from that, the voices were not nearly as bad as what they did to shockwave.
I have never been so disappointed in my entire life as I was when watching Kingdom. Not only were the voices sub par but they utterly decimated Megatron's character.
Those graphics with the same story and voices? Yessssss. For fun, I actually did a compete recast for Beast Wars that 1) used famous actors for the voices, and 2) did not use anyone that already voiced a Transformers character. Additionally, my picks were based on who I thought would be best suited to deliver each character’s lines (for example, I felt Mark Hamill would be the best choice for Tarantulas since he’s an expert Joker voice, and Tarantulas is just as creepy and evil).

Most of the voices in kingdoms is reasonable but the worse was BW Megatron, he sounded awful but then his character felt kind of off as he seemed to be fixated on the original owner of the name!

So much more personality back then. All the new voices melt together. With the exception of Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Dinobot, Wheel jack, Ratrap, and "Predacon Leader".
I grew up around my 90s brother and sister, despite being an early 2000s child. This. Hit. EVERYTHING!!! It feels good listening to the Beast Wars voices instead of that garbage
This is what Transformers is all about!! (Voices, sound effects, background music scores) Wish they’d have kept the original CGI models… I’d rather go back to watching Beast Wars altogether, just wish we would get a 4K up scaled version with a steelbook release. I hope they at least do a Blu-ray release in 2026, for that will be the 30th anniversary of Beast Wars. The whole reason that the Kingdom Line had the Beast Wars characters was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the show, so why not do it for the 30th anniversary as well?
beast wars' success was voice acting and character writting, how the hell did they expect us to actually get invested in the table scraps they trudged out?
Something that I thought was a missed opportunity was WFC DInobot's sacrifice and the missing line "Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly. The ill deeds, along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest, is silence...'
This is such good relief. Hearing my beloved Beast Wars characters with new animations but maintain the OG voice actors is just a cherry on top. Because I just finished watched Kingdom today, I thought it was the better chapter out of the three chapters, but it's still lacking in the voice acting department to making it more impactful. But the video really made me happy and smiled because when I played my Beast Wars toys, I'm still attached to the original Beast Wars voices not the new ones in Kingdom that Rooster Teeth and Neflix butchered.
Rooster Teeth used to be good. Guess when they get out of the Halo machinima, they don't have a lot of skill. :-/

Man, screw Rooster Teeth, can somebody please take Transformers away from Rooster Teeth? Most of their stuff are so mediocre in term of writing and it really showed in WFC trilogy. TF Prime is probably last show to have good writing and well developed characters thanks to being made into full seasons and not just 6 episodes per season.

Seeing the Autobots and Decepticons interacting with the Maximals and Predacons is a dream come true. I feel this should have happened ages ago. But as the old saying goes; better late than never.
I missed David Kaye as Megatron, dude made a purple dinosaur hilarious, menacing, regal and savage. Often in the same sentence.
They really should have got all the original voices for beast wars and g1 for prime, primal and the 2 megatrons

I actually really liked Blackarachnia, Dinobot, Rattrap, Airazor and Rhinox voice acting since they were pretty good and mostly spot on. Liked Dinobot new voice. However nothing beats the original and really hope we get Kaye for rotb
News Flash: There won’t even be Predacons in the film. Instead it’s Terrorcons, and they’re all new characters that seem more like G1 Terrorcons.
The good news is we WILL get Cheetor, Airazor, Rhinox, and Primal. Even better is Rhinox will be voiced by David Sobolov (the original Depth Charge) and Ron Perlman returns as Primal.

@@B-rex395 Yeah. Sad, but… it’s said there were plans for two sequels. Obviously this wouldn’t happen for a while due to ongoing stuff, but if the film got two sequels, then maybe they could show up in the future.
So far we got Primal, Rhinox, Airazor, and Cheetor for Maximals. Scorponok was the only Predacon featured. If sequels are greenlit, then more from both factions could be brought in. Not holding my breath on that one, but it’s not out of the question.

Some of them weren’t that bad I liked Dinobot, Rat trap “he had his accent!”, and blackarachnia. As well as Star Scream, megatron “i wish he could’ve spoken like he did in prime wars”, bumblebee, prowl, jetfire/ skyfire, and wheel jack “also had the accent”. I didn’t like ironhide I wish he swapped with hound, and Optimus prime of course. I HATE BW Megatron only thing I liked is that he said “yesss”. Other than that I thought the cast was “ok” with a few great voices.
Instead of having the same theme through the introduction they should have just the remix of the beast wars theme. And also I think the beast wars voicing was much better then the Autobots and the decepticons.

To Netflix's credit Blackarcachnia, Rattrap, and Airrazor were pretty good fits. Beast Wars Megatron though, no way, and Tigatron and Dinobot sound like they should have switched actors.

Megatron was the biggest let down, with Dino Bot being the second biggest. Oh, and the lack of SilverRachnia. But aside from that, the voices were not nearly as bad as what they did to shockwave.

For fun, I actually did a compete recast for Beast Wars that 1) used famous actors for the voices, and 2) did not use anyone that already voiced a Transformers character. Additionally, my picks were based on who I thought would be best suited to deliver each character’s lines (for example, I felt Mark Hamill would be the best choice for Tarantulas since he’s an expert Joker voice, and Tarantulas is just as creepy and evil).
It certainly adds a bit of character, all said and done tho, WFC is a superlative addition to the franchise
