I'm a novice at making cake lace, made my first lot last week & it turned out very well considering a few mistakes. Going to put them on some cupcakes this afternoon.
Oh wow. Will these stay rigid? I was planning to use Cake Lace to make some dragon wings for a wedding cake, but I need them not to bend. I was intending to try to make them from the peaks of Peacock mat and trim to shape. I was wondering if there was a way to make them hold firmer than normal as I don't want droopy wings. Would this technique work for that? Thanks
Hi Claire thank you for sharing how to make your beautiful 3D butterflies, I have made royal icing butterflies in the past & they are ALWAYS so fragile that you always have to make more then you would originally need, but I was wondering if these butterflies were edible or not? Thank you & may GOD bless you
You can do 2 layers of the pearlised Cake Lace if you want. This will make the lace thicker BUT, you need to use the original and pearlised mixed together to make the butterflies.

Preheated oven at 70 degrees? My oven's warm setting starts at 170! I guess if I turn the light on only, it will warm to that temperature.
