I love this guys reaction. Courtney is something else and i am that old that i remember Janis Joplin and was a great fan. This girl is from another planet.
They can only get the golden buzzer during their initial audition. After that Americans vote her through. I watched this to the end and she just killed it. Love the way she dances!
Hi DRA. Great reaction. Courtney is simply sensational. Not only does she have vocals that are unmatched by any one, but when have we ever seen anyone that can dominate a stage like she can, and this was all at 14 years old. As you mentioned, her creativity is off the charts, as she completely 'Courterized' this James Brown classic. As you see more of Courtney, you'll see that she does that with every cover she sings. Whenever your about to listen to a Courtney cover, always listen to the original first, if you're not familiar with it, because Courtney's version will never sound like the original. She always has her own take on any song she sings. James Brown is one of Courtney's inspirations and when asked where she learned her moves, she said it was from watching James Brown on UA-cam. You mentioned that you're heading down the Courtney rabbit hole and, I promise, there is no more fun and special place to be. During AGT, Courtney sang exclusively classic 60's and 70's rock, and, it was such a breath of fresh air to see someone so young reviving a style of music, dependent on emotion and passion, so long since forgotten. Then when she started singing and you realize that you may be listening to the voice of a generation, if not a lifetime, it becomes even more amazing. What you haven't heard yet is Courtney move away from the Rock genre. She has one of the most beautiful and versatile voices in music and when you hear what she can do with R&B, Funk, Soul and ballads, your jaw will just drop. I've put the links to Courtney's next three AGT performances below in sequence, if you want to follow up with those in order. Then we can move onto the endless other facets of Courtney's music that are equally as exquisite and sensational. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks for the great reaction video... With courtney it's rellay crazy... When she Sings or let's say performs she has like a superpower that grabs your soul and don't let go.... She has an phenomenal voice and a crazy stage presence... Wow every time I listen to her... No matter the song... She just owns it...
Adogg!!! Great reaction! I only found out about Courtney a few weeks ago! Now....Her 4 live covers are the first 4 songs on my car playlist!! I can't wait to actually go see her do her thing!!! I mean, c'mon....Courtney is a LIVE act.!!!!
Hey Adogg! Thanks for reacting to this performance by the incomparable Courtney. Loved your reaction with all your expressions and obvious enjoyment. Courtney followed this one up on AGT by “Born to be Wild” by Steppenwolf. Then for her finale she did “River Deep, Mountain High” by Tina Turner. Then in the final results show she performed “Piece of my Heart” by Janis Joplin with the English Band the Struts. Bring on another one!
She already has gotten the golden buzzer ,this was one of her performances after the golden buzzer event. Courtney just explodes on stage , we can sit back and watch her burn!!
I did you had the same reaction as we all did. Courtney is a superstar, she is a great singer/performer/song writer once in a life time artist. I just love her
Your videoes just popped up on my recommended list. Did you see the video of her audition round foe voice for kids in the UK. Her performance was wasted on the judges because only one judge saw a minute of it but they were all rocking out to it.
There's so much to tell about Courtney when she went on this show. I'll just say a few things and hope everyone else fills you in. But I got to say your reaction really get the blood pumping almost as much as Courtney's performances. Just love when I get the chills when reactor is getting excited for her. It's like reliving this show all over again. We all couldn't wait until Courtney appeared for her next performances back then. It's like we woke up to music again after 20 or 30 years for most of us baby boomers. She's a star for us all. Courtney did get bullied in school before AGT and also during AGT from fans of other contestants on that show and just people who didn't like her style of RnB and rock that she primarily performed on this show and the year before on The Voice Kids. Both shows she was a rock queen who shined on stage like no one else does today. The haters were so ruthless on AGT they joined together to form hate groups on social media to bring her down. Many many of Courtney's friends, family, neighbors and just people who met her came to her defense, but those immature haters, who many of them were adults, didn't care. They denied any facts that were brought up to them to prove what was being said about her shyness being fake or that she couldn't sing and she was just a screamer, etc was all bullshit. Sometimes she still gets those people showing up on these type videos today. I saved a few comments from her friends and people who met her to show she was truly very shy, but has now outgrown that whenever one of them shows up saying the same ridiculous comments again. Even Courtney herself occasionally replied to those negative comments back then, but quickly learned not to bother and to just show people what she could do. As she started to post great sayings on her social media accounts like "Just be yourself, you are all you've got" and positive stuff like that. That's enough of that for now. The other thing is Courtney watched James Brown on UA-cam and tried to copy his dance moves, but realized she couldn't. She said she just did it her way instead. Whenever we see her on stage with her moves comes from her in the moment. She said she goes with how she feels when she's up there, that she doesn't really have any choreographed moves. She has a basic idea of what she will do, but it all changes when the music starts. That's pretty much how it was when we grew up in the 60 and 70's until disco came around. EEEEEkkk Hated disco. Not sure if you will do another reaction of Courtney today, but I sure know you've got lots of her fans hoping for it. I subscribed. I always wait for the second one to see if there's is real interest. I pretty much knew there was already.
@@BrentOlsen I had to compete with 2 older brothers that liked disco, one really loved it and hated rock. The oldest at least liked all music. I still have problems picking a favorite between that "Old Town Road" and "Sucker" And tbh when "Sucker" 1st got released I was disappointed in the choice of song for a few days, but then it just grew on me. And now I'm not sure which one I like most. Love her upbeat style so much because that's why I listen to. Good old fashion RnR. Anything that makes you want to get up and move to the beat.
i watched and liked. I have a question, how many 13 year old soul singers are there? One, Courtney. She is now 19 and experimenting different forms, but we all hope to see her back on soul and back on th estage for performances like this.
Courtney knows so much more than she is given credit for by the average listener today who don't really follow her much. The way she plays with different voices with her singing is not done much anymore today. She learned all these things from the great artist of the past. She didn't deserve all that hate she got back on AGT. Too many people just didn't understand how great artists would play with their voices to give a different sound. Some of those singers like Brian Johnson from AC/DC or Ronnie James Dio of Black Sabbath and Rainbow, and of course Janis Joplin. Not only did they have the grit and rasp, but they would occasionally add something extra to change it up a bit. It's rare today to see singer play around with their vocals like that. I guess it's safer or maybe just to afraid to try different things. Fortunately when us older folk grew up anything went. We had very few fears. Today's society is too restricted in what's acceptable. Its' a shame. Lots of fun lost due to that thinking. But then again, we had an advantage, since cops where our friends mostly. If we got caught doing something we probably shouldn't have been doing, we would get a slap on the wrist maybe and escorted back to our front doors safely. Oh, the good old days. Yea, I'm old, but I have a lot of fun.
Look up who Mick learned it from...that's who Courtney studied too. There ARE a very few benefits brought by having UA-cam when kids are growing up...like Courtney they can see old performances from roots of modern music for themselves. Performers can only get one golden buzzer. She already got her golden buzzer. Also you mentioned that she covered a Janis Joplin song. Hard to handle was not a Joplin cover. Howie Mandell mentioned Janis Joplin because she reminded him of Janis Joplin. I'd like to see you react to Janis Joplin music two good ones are piece of my heart and cry baby.
Hey Adogg, I subscribed to your channel the first time but I don’t see any notification bell. I was told by a friend but I don’t want to miss one of your reactions!
Always love your reactions man but you missed a couple one of his Love hurts even though it's over her computer the vocals are insane even for Courtney you got to hear it bro thanks man later
Howie Mandel gave her the golden buzzer and her first performance on America's got talent she only plays six I think because she had been on The voice for kids and she's a UK girl at any rate on the voice of kids she said she steady James Brown's moves on UA-cam she's been singing since she was 8 years old as far as I know she is an amazing person her last performance on America's got talent was America's got talent the champis sung her original pretty little thing her first concert is supposed to be August 20th in Austria thanks a lot for doing the Courtney's you've been I can see she's got you great reaction be nice if somebody didn't want until her concert everyday then we'll have something to do to go on thanks man
there's no golden buzzer here... but I listen to James Brown and His song Papa Got A Brand New Bag he did was an awesome song and really groovy, but he was much faster in tempo... but Courtney slowed the tempo for a more R&B sound, and she nailed it. James would be Proud, because not many artist can do these remakes and make them sound that quality as if they wrote the song themselves... All her covers are "Unreal". But, hey if you really know your music listen to Linda Perry and tell me what you think, because if anyone comes close would be her in her range quickness and has that raspyness sound, but also a "clear" sound when they need to be like Courtney does... it's so natural for them it's unreal... And like I said before on other comment I believe she could be the female "Elvis" of our time and she's not even from the U.S. so go figure... Someone commented on another reaction site that when Simon hugged Howie there was a lot to be said about that, because yes they see a lot of talent come on the show, come and go and yes sometimes they get shocked or wowed, but they all knew this was something different and they could feel it and see it, and I believe they knew she wasn't going to win, which would explain their comments especially Simon's and Howie about not winning and how they expressed her talent... i went through a lot of video of previous "Wow" singers and I'm telling you dude if you do too, you'll see she is something different. I haven't heard any recent news on her lately, that i know she's been very hard working on originals and some practicing at the studio in the UK, but the Covid 19 restrictions over there are really setting things back for her... I still won't watch AGT or Voice, because i don't like the shows, but i when I discovered her last month by accident I was so blown away, i nearly broke my guitar from just pure amazement running to my brother telling him he had to see this... Then watching her performance, i think Las Vegas, where she got sick dude and still performed like a star... I was like wt*** she shouldn't be doing that... but, yah, check out Linda Perry, and check out who she wrote songs for, will blow your socks off too...Courtney Hadwin female "Prodigy"...
I wonder how that's going to go... seems a lot of people over there are rejecting the vaccination and are in protest mode... this covid could really hinder her career, because of all the political agendas world wide. I'm just wondering if she should go independent, cut her own albums, and then start concerts when the times comes when you're able w/o all this bull shit... She truly is a female Prodigy there is no doubt.
Speaking of “bag”...I’m glad to see she’s no longer dressing as a bag lady. The first time I saw her I thought someone could have done better for her considering her enormous talent.

That was Otis Redding, "Too Hard to Handle",not Janis. She does Janis with the Struts later. She does leave this James Brown tune on the floor.
So refreshing to see the young doing old music. Keep it alive. I'm 54 and so much is changing. Let the music live on past me.
1965? That's the year I was born! I love her voice and performances! The Golden buzzer only happens at the first auditions. A magician won that year.

She already got the golden buzzer ♥

Unique & Good!!!!
When I first heard her she was only 13. The girl is the real deal 🤗❤️! I think she's about 17 now. 👍😎

Once you get to the live shows, its all on votes. I voted for her that year
By this preformance she already had the Golden buzzer from Howie Mandel
The Golden Buzzer only happens with the first audition.
Courtney is scheduled for the FM4 Frequency Festival in Austria Aug 20 2021. Covid willing. Vaccination required.
She truly is a female Prodigy there is no doubt.
fantastic
👍😁love it👍
Yep got to love it, definitely got talent. PEACE
Only one golden buzzer, then it’s all voting after that.
Speaking of “bag”...I’m glad to see she’s no longer dressing as a bag lady. The first time I saw her I thought someone could have done better for her considering her enormous talent.
one thing about COURTNEY is she is a little like ELVIS ONE OF A KIND !
