I loved how she's so shy but as soon as the music started, she became absolutely transfixed. Her humble and beautiful demeanor was refreshing as well as her running to her hero, her dad.

In the brief backstage interview with her father, he stated that Courtney thought she was going to get the RED buzzer (buzzed OFF the show) and sent home! Knowing that, when Howie said, "...I can't sign you to a record deal...", the expression on Courtney's face was like, "Oh, no, here's where I get sent home." That IMMEDIATELY changed to tears of joy when Howie hit the Golden Buzzer. A big THANK YOU to Howie, and to Courtney for such an energetic and amazing performance!

Courtney Hadwin has a rare gift for performing, once she starts it's like she's loses all her insecurities and awkwardness and becomes part of the song giving it a life of it's own and just letting it flow through her and use her as it's outlet. That's a rare gift. Note that many of the artists she cites as her musical inspirations (James Brown, Janis Joplin, Ella James ect) also had this talent.
A lot of really successful artists are very shy and humble right up till the lights go on and the music starts. Born performers.

Hi DRA. Really great reaction and so glad to have you on the Courtney Express. Some of the other commenters have filled you in on many of the details, but suffice it to say that Courtney is amazing in so many ways. Unmatched vocals, pure stage dominance, off the charts creativity, dynamite guitarist and powerhouse song writer. What you may not know is the level of vocal versatility that Courtney has. Since you know her only from her AGT audition (which went viral and now has over 500M views, Courtney has in total has over 2 Billion views), you have yet to see her perform anything outside of the Rock genre. Fact is that Courtney can sing just about anything and do it better than anyone else whether it be R&B, Funk, Soul or Ballads. You're jaw will drop when you hear what an absolutely beautiful ballad voice Courtney has. The best part is that she can transition seamlessly between genres, sometimes in the same song, without any loss to the exquisite quality of her music. Her creativity is off the charts and any cover she sings will be entirely different than the original. Courtney will only do a cover if she has her own take on how a song could or should be sung. She never mimics anyone. I always suggest that, when listening to a Courtney cover, always listen to the original first, if you haven't heard it, because it will only make what Courtney has done to it that much more amazing. Inevitably, what she produces consistently blows the original out of the water. As you hear more of Courtney and what she can do musically, you'll see why those of us who follow her consider her to be the best thing that's happened to music in decades. Courtney has been trying to release her debut album of original music for more than a year now but, like everything else, it has been delayed multiple times by the Covid situation. Brilliantly said, my thoughts exactly. I am a 78 year old Australian man with hundreds/thousands of records in my collection since the first record I bought in 1956, I have every recording made by Elvis in his all to short life, having said that I believe Courtney is the very best to come into the music world for several decades and she is destined to be a world mega star.
@@TheMonarchgroup Courtney is incredible. Definitely the best talent to come into music in my lifetime and it's not just the vocals. She is the total package. The range, vocal dexterity and vocal control. The stage dominance. The creativity. She also has become a dynamite guitarist even though she only first picked up the instrument less than 18 months ago. She is a powerhouse of a song writer as well. Funny, but we all know that Courtney has been trying to release her debut album of originals for more than a year now, but Covid has prevented it. She said recently that before Covid, she never really was that into writing her own songs but, with the lock downs and other avenues of creativity closed off, she turned to song writing and fell in love with it. So, if Courtney would have been able to release on schedule and been immersed in tours, concerts and promotion, this might have been one of her great talents that wouldn't have come to light for some time.

Sometimes music transports us to other universes, and my thought is, Courtney is transported to one, we don't even know about yet!!! 😊🙃😊She is truly in a league of her own!!!
I'm like Tyra... I've never seen anything like it... most people thought she was going to come out with an angelic voice like a lot of the talented kids have been doing where even adults didn't do as well,,, and she came out commanding the stage and that voice such control and being able to run around and control your lungs to sing is the most difficult thing on stage. She has shown time and time again even from the voice that she is a reckoning in Rock R&B music. She has already slammed dunk every cover song which she sings as if she wrote them and to only be 16 now and singing like she does is unheard of. When she sings you feel with her the music and the passion, not just an awesome voice on stage performing... I've seen many talented singers, but she really at her age is unseen and unheard of... what talent... prodigy...

I remember when this first happened. I watched the replay on UA-cam that night. It was crazy. I must have watched it 50 times abd have easily watched it 100 times since. I love her. She is awesome. She came back and did the Champions show and did another mind-blowing performance this time of an original song. She is 16 now and has her recording deal and she is touring and doing her thing. She is amazing. Shoot. I'm 60 and I'd go see this phenom in concert!

About a year later, Courtz cover 4 popular songs "Cover Sessions" and put them out on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. One of those songs is "Old Town Road", the 2019 Billboard "Song of the Year", a hip-hop + country fusion song which she turned completely on its head and converted it into a rock song.
