Watched this and did mine - easy peasy. Only thing I discovered while doing the second front wheel was that I'd put both pads with the steel piece extension at the top (see 2:39) on the first set. It was the way it was packaged - is that a problem? Tested okay

What is the blue material used at the ends of the pads?

We used anti-creak lubricant - LIQUI MOLY 3077, you can find it at the link in the description under the video.

It is ok if you don't unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap?

Unscrew it. Otherwise a vacuum is created and near impossible to seperate the brake calliper to remove the pad

OEM system, caliper , pads are made by ADVICS. FYI.
