I like how you talked about peeling - I definitely struggle with finding a foundation that doesn't cling to flaky, dry skin and no one talks about it!!
Ok, Shelly! You sold me on it! I'm getting off the fence and ordering it. I thought it looked beautiful when you first applied it and when you did your wear test from work. I love that it wore off gracefully and made your skin soft. We'll see how it works on my 61 year old skin! Thanks, GF! I always appreciate your reviews! xo
Can't wait to hear what you think! I've worn it 3 days in a row now and this stuff put moisture back into my skin that even my best moisturizers haven't done!
I gotta say, I have been binge watching your videos after my surgery 48 hours ago, and every single foundation you've tried that I have tried we have agreed on! I love that you love this foundation, because it is in my top five. It always makes my skin feel soft too!! I am so excited to continue watching your videos because it seems like we have similar taste in makeup. Love Love your videos!
I’m in AZ so for me, my skin is more dry in the summer, this seems like it would be great for me this summer. I’m probably the odd gal out, but I prefer using my fingers. Thanks for the review!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for adding the close up with the foundation as well as having a pale complexion! It is near impossible to find foundation reviews for pale skin.
Shelly, here’s the good and the bad: your skin looks AAAHMAZING without foundation (Good!), so I can’t really judge if it would look good on me (Bad!). You’re the best. Thank you for testing everything for us. ☺️
This is the most beautiful foundation I have ever seen on you. It looks like you’re not wearing makeup and that your skin is naturally healthy and pretty! Since it doesn’t last 12 hours, and since this foundation is so non-fussy, it would be easy to take a couple of drops to touch it up with no problem.
Geek Out of Water Yup! Your search for the perfect foundation is over! This will ALWAYS look great on you, especially as you get older. I swear, it is the best foundation ever invented. I wear the same shade as you!
Hmmm... this sounds like a great weekend makeup. I hate doing my makeup just to run to Target on a Sunday but I feel weird not doing any. Or when you’re so sick your nose is raw and peeling and makeup just looks terrible. Might have to pick this up! Also, I LOVE your saying “faded gracefully”. I’ve always said... I’d rather a foundation just fade instead of crease, crack, and separate after 10ish hours which is why I tend to not go for “longwearing” ones. That description is perfect!
I’ve just bought this and love it. It doesn’t like a on top of your skin primer. It pills. I’m mid forties and it’s great for every day use. I did break out with two pimples initially but once my skin got used to it, it settled down.
I haven't tried it with fewer drops yet (I did 4 drops each of the 3 days I've worn it so far) so you could sheer it out even more. My skin feels softer than any of my skin care has done. I can't wrap my head around it!
Finally someone in my age range, with very close skin tone and issue (peeling but I don’t use retanol it’s just me). I have psoriasis on my forehead. It actually looks great even after 12 hours. Thank you for the review and I love your cat ❤️❤️
I'm definitely a full coverage girl but I am so tempted to try this. I think I could use it on gym days instead of going bare faced. Your review was great! Thanks for all that you do!
I suspect it would be good for that because it sort of sinks into the skin, not like a foundation coating the top of the skin, if that makes any sense. My guess is that sweat won't move it.
I'm not surprised by the softness you feel because it's basically a face oil. I am, however, surprised at the good review because the only ones I've seen so far have been iffy to bad. I'm glad it worked for you!
I've worn it 3 days in a row now and I'm loving it! I wait until after I do my reviews to watch any, so the only one I've seen so far is Tati's, and she liked it - though her skin isn't much like mine so I can't rely on her reviews to see what will work for me.
@@goow I've seen a few reviews that haven't been great and the one that sticks out to me is Michele Wang's as it just did not work for her. This just goes to show that what works for one doesn't work or all and vise versa
So I live in North Dakota and have to have different skin care and face makeup for winter and construction seasons. You have totally sold me on trying this.
You are just aglow!! I'm so impressed by all the reviews. I may have to stop in Sephora and try a sample. I think even after the 12 hr mark, your skin looks flawless, Shelly! 🔥💓
The only review I've watched since filming mine was Tati's, and she's pretty picky with foundation so I was glad to see she liked it! Now I'm looking up all of the others :)
@@goow I saw Tati's and also Elle Leary's. Both loved them. Then again, Tati is so filtered, you can't really tell. Everything looks perfect on her. Watch Elle's video if you get a chance.
Wow! I have to try this! I thought it looked gorgeous on you and your complexion looks great at the end of the day! I can't wait to hear your follow up on this one, I wonder if the longevity will get better with a different primer/setting powder/spray???
I'm loving it! I'm 3 wears in so far. It worked in this review with the Tatcha primer, then I wore it once with no primer (still fine, though I prefer to blur my pores with primer first!), and once with a silicone based primer (my StriVectin Line BlurFector). It wore great every time. I also tried setting in more heavily with powder (the CT airbrush flawless finish) and it took well to that, too. So far I haven't gotten it to wear longer than 8-ish hours but it has done a nice graceful fade regardless of what I've done so far.
Looks good on you! The oils in this really sink in and are good for your skin. I tried this in a sample in a couple shades and really liked it on my dry skin. I like light to medium coverage. If you ever want to know if a company is truly cruelty free, check with Logical Harmony or Cruelty Free Kitty. They are the most reliable.
Thanks, Glenne! I've been enjoying lighter coverage this winter (which is usually the opposite of what I like in the winter). Who knows but I'm rolling with it! 😂
I’m guessing lots of others like it too.... the first 5 shades are sold out on Sephora! It’s a little outta my price range but looks great! I’m all about lightweight/ light coverage foundation. Thank you for the great review!
I only got mine a week or so ago and they were all in stock, and then Tati reviewed it a couple days ago and liked it... I am blaming the Tati Effect. 😂
I've worn it 3 days in a row now and I absolutely love it. It has also worked doing a heavier powder set for more coverage. It's really versatile! My skin is so soft that I'm pretty much mind blown by this one.
I’m buying it and the Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter with my Christmas Sephora card and the money my fam gave me for my 44th bday -which was yesterday. (They know better then to buy me makeup and instead gift me cards and money to pick out makeup. Makeup and skincare are my only splurges, well gaming too but I can justify it bc my daughter is a gamer.) Anyways I’m so glad you like this bc ever since tati’s video popped up in my timeline I’ve been dying for you or taytalaa to review it. I’m so psyched to try it!!
This looks great in you! I totally understand the moisturizing the flakes comment. I might try this. I like skin like foundations! Have a nice weekend!
Excited for this. Picking up a sample to make sure it doesn't break me out but really hopeful. I pretty much only buy foundations with your blessing now
Let me know how you like it, Cassi! I've worn it a week straight and no breakouts! I'm not super prone to them but I do react to ingredients sometimes.
Thank you for reviewing this foundation. I get more and more intrigued with this foundation each time I see someone review it. I wonder how it would wear if I mixed a little of this with another not-so dewy foundation.
Looking at the ingredients, I think your dry skin is loving the combination of oils in this. Jojoba oil (actually a wax) is VERY similar to our skin’s natural sebum. The avocado & sunflower are rich. Meadowfoam & raspberry seed oil are lovely & full of anti-oxidants. The rice bran extract performs similarly to silk (IMO). When I started using facial oils, my skin became so soft! As you said, this is not like a traditional foundation (with binders, fillers). My skin became so much happier when I started using facial oils with just mineral makeup. I’m 50 BTW. If you love the way your skin feels after using this (skincare aspect) but you’re disappointed in coverage (foundation aspect), consider finding a serum/facial oil with very similar ingredients. If you use oils before sunscreen, allow 10 mins or so for it to absorb (the only downside to using oils). Thx for a great review!
Thanks for this! I've been wanting to deep-dive into the different oils for skin care because my skin really seems to love them. One of my other favorite foundations is the Ilia True Skin serum foundation - it looks somewhat similar to the Kosas but does have at least one silicone in it. But I find that my skin responds similarly to it. I definitely need more oils in my skin care based on how much my skin loves this Kosas! I've been trying to remember to use my mineral sunscreen instead of chemical sunscreen when I wear the Kosas. I do my sunscreen at least 15 minutes prior to my makeup (I get dressed in between).
Also I have a skin care rec. I can’t use acids when I use my retin a but I love what they do. I came across propolis essence and researched it and found it did similar things to acids for ppl with skin to sensitive for acids. Plus a bunch of other beneficial stuff. I bought some (forget the brand name but lots of k beauty brands have it) and found I could use it with my retin a and it made my skin feel amazing and look glowy. I’m absolutely in love with it. In fact I’m about to order another bottle. As long as your ok with (what’s basically) bee spit then I think most ppl will love it. I use it with my snail slime cream and I appreciate putting weird shit on my face.
I wanted the 03 fair with cool undertones but it was sold out in boxycharm so I chose the same one 02. I’m super intrigued!!!! Tinted face oil!?? I am excited!
It's so good!!! My skin loves it - and it mixes well with other foundations too if you have one that's just a little too drying on you but you still like it.
This review is so useful - I'm rapidly approaching 40 with incredibly dry skin following acne treatment. I'll deffo be watching more of your vids and buying this product!
My skin is still loving the Kosas! I reach for it especially when my skin is super dry or irritated from whatever recent skin care experiment I did on it!
This review came at the perfect time. I’ve been shopping for cc creams or foundation drops. Don’t need the sunscreen and additional things most cc creams have. Definitely trying this. Thank you for the review. It looked great on you !
LOL! You crack me up Shelly! It really looked so natural on your skin. I would really like to know how this works for you if you wear it for several days in a row. Would it break you out? Would your skin perhaps stop peeling? Curious minds need to know! Love you channel and loved this review!!
3 days in a row so far! No break outs (though I'm not super prone to breaking out - I'm more prone to the little white milia bumps, but none so far). My peels did stop but then I did the tretinoin again last night so surely they'll be back today or tomorrow - but maybe not if I keep using this! The softness still lasts the morning after - I'm probably most blown away by that. My skin is softer than it's probably ever been with this stuff!
I'm 48, super oily skin in my T-zone with giant pores. I've had the foundation on for about 5 hours (first time with it), no primer at all, no powder at all and I'm very pleasantly surprised with it. I haven't turned into an oil slick and it's not accentuating the pores on my nose.
It looks great, Shelly ! I think this sounds perfect for my skin to neutralize some redness. Sounds easy to put on with the thin consistency. Thanks for the review.
I loved your eye look in this video. I couldn't wait to try it. I was able to do a pretty close dupe using shadows in my stash. Thanks for the inspiration.
thank you for sharing!! I absolutely love your content about foundations!! can you tell me if you use this foundation with sunscreen underneath it? do you think this foundation would affect the sunscreen protection film since it's an "oil"?
Great review! It is a wonderful product, so good for everyday wear, and I too feel my skin is hydrated, plump and better overall from using it. I don’t use any primer with it, just a plain mineral sunscreen on days I need to.
Hmm... This is interesting. Like you, I am getting retinol flaking and my skin is already dry. I love that it wears off gracefully and leaves your skin soft. I need something that won't look horrible after 12 hours, especially if I have to go to the gym. Are you going to try it with setting spray? Maybe that would increase the longevity. I'd be interested to see some follow-ups. This is on my "to investigate" list. As always, thanks for sharing.
Yep setting spray is the next thing I'll try! I got a good 8 hours out of it set with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish, a little more heavily set than the day I did this review with the Pacifica powder. The photo I put up yesterday on my insta was the CT day.
Thank you so much for such an in-depth and honest review!! I'm on the fence for trying it and you hit on all the things I was interested in figuring out about it!
Thanks Shelly for reviewing this!! Cruelty free and hydrating! Sounds wonderful!! I have super dry skin in the winter, would you recommend this foundation or the Ilia for super dry skin? I’m trying to be mindful of the quality of ingredients that I’m putting on my skin (which I guess justifies the price...) also, which hydrating primer would you recommend for the winter? Thanks for your great and honest reviews!! 💗
I've mixed it one time so far and it was lovely - so I bet it will work well! So far every which way I've tried this (different primers, no primer, or mixed) I have loved it. I also tried it lighter coverage with 2 drops and loved it. It's super versatile.
I’m guessing this might look good under foundation. I do that with the Erborian I think they call it a face enhancer. If you have not tried the Erborian can you please do a review on that one?
Geek Out of Water it’s a more pink toned product but u and I are the same age and have pretty much the same skin type so I’m excited to see your review! Thank you!
Thank you Shelly, I'm going to try this. Dry skin city here. I am 10 years older than you but we have the same skin type. I keep waiting for Perricone MD to release a cooler undertone No Foundation Foundation Serum. I never would have found Kosas if not for you! I'll let you know how it works for me!
The photo I put on insta yesterday is of it more heavily set with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish (not quite powder foundation, but close). It took to it very well!
Yep, I am sold. I am going to order this today. Thank you for your awesome review. Your skin looked beautiful with this foundation when outside and also when inside. I cant wait to receive it. xx
It's so good! My skin loves this stuff - I've picked up the next darker shade so I can wear it through summer as well. Let me know how you like it, Sandy!
@@goow I just ordered the Kosas tinted oil in 4, the liquid eyeshadow in Copper Halo, and the lip oil in shade Dip. I will let you know what I think. My skin is combination/oily so I am thinking it should be ok?!? xx
Yep there is lots of room for experimentation with this one! So far I've worn it with no primer (pretty much the same) and again with a heavier powder set (worked wonderfully - a picture of that is on my insta).
I really like this on you....maybe it would be great for me during winter months when I'm extremly dry....but with spring/summer coming, I sweat too much and am sure it would come off too easily.....thanks for reviewing it....
I'm guessing that will be true come summer, Debi - though it oddly doesn't transfer much at all, so maybe something in it has some hold? I really can't wrap my head around this one! 😂
Looks nice n glowy just like I need for my dry Las Vegas skin!🌵 It looks great on u n agree ur under eyes look amazing too!! Thanks for the review Shells!!❤️🙌🏼💋💄✌🏼️
Hello Shelly, thank you for reviewing this foundation!! I am super excited to try and get it at some point. I was wondering, I couldn't find it in your searchable spreadsheet, is it a bug or do you think it's missing? Really appreciate your hard-work 🖤
Oh wow - I will have to see what happened! It should be in there! I now have 2 different shades of the Kosas so I can wear it winter or if I'm using self tanner in the summer :) I love it!!
Hi Shelly, how are you? You look so good. I just had to comment this time to tell you that foundation looks amazing on you. Boy!!..I need to try this stuff it looks so good and your skin looked dewy, smooth and covered you up so nicely. You need to wear that one all the time.. I really want to get this one and Thank You so much for reviewing this foundation. Shelly, it was good seeing you, have a Great Weekend, Love Ya and God Bless You 😇💞
I didn't know I was courting such a mysterious stranger when I bought this one, but it's here to stay on my vanity! 😂And thanks for the house well wishes, Lorinda - another weekend, another set of delays. If it's not figured out by the end of the month it's all over. :( Tick tock.
Hello Shelly! I was looking on your website for this product so I could shade match myself (I'm an NW15 in MAC most of the time) and this one wasn't listed! Or at least I can't find it when looking up Kosas or even sorting by brand alphabetically.
Holy cow - somehow it did not get entered in my spreadsheet! I will update it!! I have a bunch of shades of this now - shade 2 was in that review and it's a smidge light for me. I bought shade 3 and that's probably closest to NW15. I have 3.5 as well and it's a little bit closer to neutral/a little more yellow but still works in terms of lightness/darkness. So I would say if you're NW15, compare 3 and 3.5 and see which you tend more toward.
Hi Shelly! Love your Friday Foundation Reviews, as always!! I think you’ve talked me into giving this “weird” foundation a try. I wonder if you went with the extra couple of drops if you would of had even better results?!?! I love the idea of the product fading away gracefully, instead of caking up in places! Thanks for the review!! 💖
This is definitely my preferred way for a foundation to wind down at the end of a long day! No gunking up. The 3 times I've worn it so far I've done the same number of drops - haven't tried the fuller coverage yet! I'm loving this one. I keep petting my face. It's so soft.
What are your thoughts on mixing it with a fuller coverage foundation to give that foundation a more dewy look? I am currently using the Osmosis foundation, but wondering if mixing these two will give me the look I am seeking.. hmmmm
I haven't tried it yet but that's the next thing I want to test out with this one! I've worn it on its own several times now and it has worked well with a variety of primers.
Wow I am intrigued! My skin is normally combo but the weather is making my dryness worse. Wonder if you could mix cover FX drops with argan oil and get the same effect.
I would love to give this one a try! It's a little pricey but I don't wear makeup daily so foundations tend to last me a LONG time. Currently, I own 2 - the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation and the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. Have you tried that particular Bare Minerals tinted moisturizer? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! I have it in Vanilla 02 and I kind of go back and forth on whether I like it or not.
I've got that Bare Minerals moisturizer, and I go back and forth on whether I like it, too! I always like it initially, but some days it really breaks down fast on me, and gets very unflattering, and I can't figure out a pattern of what I'm using with it that it doesn't like. I have a feeling this Kosas just beat out every other thing I wear for my light-makeup days.
Very interested in checking this out. Do you think you could mix this with other foundations to prevent skin dryness when you want more coverage? Have a great day Shelly!💜
I haven't tried mixing it yet but I've seen others on UA-cam have great luck using it as a mixer. Tati has been talking about this mixed with the Beauty Blender foundation for a couple weeks now as her holy grail combo.
What an interesting foundation... I wonder if you could add a drop of it to a long-lasting foundation to sort of get the hydration with the long wear -- best of both worlds?
I'm definitely going to try that - since they've clearly nailed the ratios of the oils and pigment, my guess is it would be even more effective than just putting a drop of whatever oil into your foundation.
@@goow Well now I definitely want to try it myself. LOL Seems like it would work really well to either sheer out a heavier foundation or add moisture to a drier one, depending on ratios. Or, like you mentioned -- be great on its own for those problematic-skin days. I thought it looked really great on you -- just really fresh and skin-like and dewy.
Hi Shelly, I've watched a few videos on this over several months and the few commented that it's drying for those that are like the Sahara desert like myself so I'm disappointed for that yet love to hear you say it's very hydrating. I think it looks REALLY pretty on you and GREAT at the 6PM check in!!!! Thanks as always as I LOVE your videos and for what ever reason have not been getting my notices when you post :(
It's primarily made of carrier oils so I'm not sure how it could be drying. There are very few ingredients other than the oils, and it's got all 3 components of a good moisturizer (humectants, occlusives, and emollients). It's got some kaolin in it, which is clay based, but my guess based on this formula is that it's there as a preservative to keep water from impacting the oils, rather than in quantities that would be present in, say, a facial mask. I've worn it 3 days in a row and it's doing a better job at moisturizing my skin than my best moisturizer!
@@goow Thanks so much Shelly for all the info!! I know there is Gessa and then the Kosas as well. I have to say it looked lovely on you even though I know it was wearing off very late, but hey.... right? I may look into it for on the run Summer days when I'm not working as I hate to put on my make up to run around on days off... thank you as always!!!
Hi Ashley! I'm going to guess that's an autocorrect for sunscreen :) I was wearing the StriVectin Advanced Retinol Day Treatment SPF30 but I don't think they make it anymore. The sunscreen I'm wearing now under makeup is the Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun SPF50 PA++++ - amzn.to/38oxkZ3 - I wait at least 15 minutes after applying my skin care and sunscreen to start my makeup, preferably 30 minutes. It's easier now to wait that my commute to work is 6 steps from my makeup table 😂 but when I actually go in to work, I'm often rushing :) I do my skin care, then get dressed, then feed the cats and make tea, then do my makeup.
Hey Shelly can u mix it with different foundations and give us an update? I thought u look absolutely gorgeous and flawless on the natural sun light check in.
Yep that is on my experiments list! This one is fun. I tried 2-drops for lighter coverage today and it was great. (I've worn it 4 days now. It also works fine with silicone and water based primers).
Seriously smooth finish. Great product for those "no-makeup" days. Speaking of retinol....I've never used a retinol eye cream ever and started using one a couple of weeks ago. I didn't notice much going on until I tried to apply my foundation yesterday. My eyebrows look like they have a terrible case of dandruff! Ahhhhh!! I'm so not used to any flaky patches on my face and don't know how to hide them during this treatment. How do you deal with it under makeup? The cream is a 2.5% formula that I only use at night that I pat around my orbital bone and under my eyes. No irritation at all but the flaking is ugly as hell. :-(
I either go with light face makeup (before I got this I was just doing the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter on my cheeks, and concealer) or if I need a full face I go with something dewy to try to keep the flakes at bay!
Hi Christina! I'm actually using Curology! I'm on .02 tretinoin with niacinamide and azelaic acid in my prescription. Coming up on 2 years now :) Here are the before/afters from my 1 year update - ua-cam.com/video/O7R64u3dq0Y/v-deo.html
@@goow Thanks for your reply. After I get through the differin I stocked up on, I’ll definitely sign up. And thanks for helping me decide to pick up the Kosas 😉
I use the Science Serum Bright & Tight in the mornings, which I think is doing great at keeping my purple away, and the Philosophy Ultimate Miracle Worker Fix Eye Power-Treatment at night, which I think is doing a lot of the smoothing.
I'm guessing it would be a little finicky unless it was an oil-based foundation, but I'm thinking it might work as a mixer to a more long-wear foundation (the same way you'd add a drop of oil to a foundation). I'm going to be experimenting with this one a LOT!
Omg I'm so glad you reviewed this! I'm getting it in my boxycharm in october 2020 and I am not too sure about it....hopefully I like it. I'm just on edge because its oil?
Do you think you could put one layer of this foundation, wait until the oil is absorbed (similar to oils people put on prior to foundation) then put a different foundation on for fuller coverage? Lastly, do you ever put an affiliate link on Bright & Tight, or Tight Eye? I wonder which product(s) you think works the best for firming. First, I'll check if you've made a video about these products (I think you might have). I'm interested in trying it but would like to use your link if possible. :)
Hi Susan! I haven't tried it as a base yet but that's on my plan to experiment with this one! I don't have an affiliate link for the Science Serum stuff. Sometimes they give me a code but I don't get commission from it - just a discount for you guys :) It was supposed to expire at the end of January but worth a shot for 20% off - code SHELLY. If it doesn't work, sign up for their email newsletter. They do 20% and 25% off flash sales all the time!
The Kosas is even more serum-y than the Ordinary version, I'd say (and I had very good luck with the Ordinary one). The Ordinary's is a little bit longer wearing on me - I think because it is slightly more like a traditional foundation but very thin in consistency, where the Kosas is kind of like, oils with pigment, and as the oils sink into the skin, the pigment dissipates. I did not have anywhere near the softening of the skin with the Ordinary as I did with the Kosas. I would say I enjoy both but prefer the Kosas.
Unfortunately the Josie Maran is unwearable for me. I can use it as a mixer but on its own I've never been able to get it to work. It clings to all of my texture and dry patches. (I missed the return deadline, and the bottle is so pretty, so I kept it). So this one is far better on me!
You’re 61?!?!

I LOVE these Friday reviews. You are amazing!!
Yep I bet it would touch up just fine! I may need to buy a purse bottle of it 😂and this is how I fall down the rabbit hole....
Yep and it applies so fast that it'd be perfect for the out-the-door running-errands day!
Yes! I hate that cracking, peeling goopy mess of some foundations at the end of the day.
Definitely giving this one a whirl! Totally not cakey, heavy, or fake looking on the skin. HYDRATING...Who knew? Another excellent review Shelly.
I’ve just bought this and love it. It doesn’t like a on top of your skin primer. It pills. I’m mid forties and it’s great for every day use. I did break out with two pimples initially but once my skin got used to it, it settled down.
I'm still loving this! I have multiple shades of it now so I can wear it any time.
Ok Shelly... This no foundation wearing Libra is sold. This sounds like it is something I could get behind! Yay!
I haven't tried it with fewer drops yet (I did 4 drops each of the 3 days I've worn it so far) so you could sheer it out even more. My skin feels softer than any of my skin care has done. I can't wrap my head around it!
Geek Out of Water Wow! Ok, I’m placing an order right now!
I just saw Tati review this and she liked it too & she's combo. I really like the way it evens you out, but doesn't look like makeup.
I have a feeling that's why half of the shades are now sold out on Sephora :P Dang it, Tati! 😂
Finally someone in my age range, with very close skin tone and issue (peeling but I don’t use retanol it’s just me). I have psoriasis on my forehead. It actually looks great even after 12 hours. Thank you for the review and I love your cat ❤️❤️
This one is still a favorite! My skin just loves it.
Geek Out of Water definitely going to try it then thank you!!! ❤️
This is like a skin perfector to me. It just looks nice, but not a mask of foundation. I also love how it's hydrating all day.
Same!! I wore it again today for the 4th time so far, and I love it more each time.
My skin still loves this one. I have a few shades of it now for year-round (I can wear it in the summer too in a dewy mood).
I'm watching now and it looks great on you!! Love the idea of the oil, too.😎
You are just aglow!!
Geek Out of Water, I’m with Rene. Your skin just looks luscious for the end of the day. I need to go to Sephora for a sample too.
I’m so glad you’re reviewing this. I have it in my cart but was waiting for a review from someone with similar pallor and similar skin concerns.
Happy birthday!! I'd say those are 2 things you can't go wrong with.
Happy birthday!
🙏🏻 Thanks you!
That's it! I'm getting it. I have very dry mature skin and think it will be great for my days off. Thanks Shelly!!!!
I wore it again today for try #4, tried lighter coverage with 2 drops. I enjoy it more every time I wear it.
This looks great in you! I totally understand the moisturizing the flakes comment. I might try this. I like skin like foundations! Have a nice weekend!
I'm so glad you get it because I thought I sure was sounding weird! 😂
Omg this is exactly the review I needed to watch before purchasing lol. Thank you!
Going to go get myself a sample now! I definitely peel from my dry skin so I’m grateful that you addressed how it acts with peeling skin !
This has been my go-to this whole peeling week!
Thank you for reviewing this foundation. I get more and more intrigued with this foundation each time I see someone review it. I wonder how it would wear if I mixed a little of this with another not-so dewy foundation.
That's my next experiment to try!
I just purchased it. So excited to try. You have beautiful skin!
Let me know how you like it!
I'll see what I can find!! Thanks, Zoey!!
I wanted the 03 fair with cool undertones but it was sold out in boxycharm so I chose the same one 02. I’m super intrigued!!!! Tinted face oil!?? I am excited!
My skin loves this stuff!!! Sometimes I wear it like skin care - it's that good for hydration!
Oh dang!! This really wore really beautifully.
Wild, right?!
I’m a little late here, but I needed to see this. Dry skin here... I think you convinced me! Thanks!!!
I am loving your longer hair. Great video too💄💄💄
Thanks, Stacy! I am growing it indefinitely! 😂
This review came at the perfect time. I’ve been shopping for cc creams or foundation drops. Don’t need the sunscreen and additional things most cc creams have. Definitely trying this. Thank you for the review. It looked great on you !
Thanks, Rosie! Let me know how you like it if you try it!
@@goow Wow! I'm impressed! Think I'm gonna give one a shot myself. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me Shelly. :)
Shelly I think it looked terrific on your skin I REALLY loved it.
Thanks, Darcey!!
Another thought, Shelly. If you ever run out of things to try (Not likely, I know!), I’d happily watch you attempting hair tutorials. ☺️
LOL that's why my hair always looks the same - I suck at hair! 😂It would be pure comedy!
I'm 48, super oily skin in my T-zone with giant pores. I've had the foundation on for about 5 hours (first time with it), no primer at all, no powder at all and I'm very pleasantly surprised with it. I haven't turned into an oil slick and it's not accentuating the pores on my nose.
Awesome!! My skin still loves this one. I wear it whenever my skin is irritated.
I never heard of this one before, but you sold me on it Shelley! I used your link to the kosas site and ordered one!! Yay!!
My skin drinks this up!! You can even use it as a primer if your skin is super dry.
Geek Out of Water I’ve been binging on some Geek lately! Love your videos!
Thank you!! 💜
Looks so beautiful on you! I love mine too and yes the only down thing is the long wear.
It looks great, Shelly ! I think this sounds perfect for my skin to neutralize some redness. Sounds easy to put on with the thin consistency. Thanks for the review.
Yep it's super fast to apply and does a really nice bit of evening everything out!
I loved your eye look in this video. I couldn't wait to try it. I was able to do a pretty close dupe using shadows in my stash. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks, Joan! :)
thank you for sharing!!
I'm loving it so far! Today was the 4th day I've worn it, and I tried lighter coverage and it was also wonderful.
I really like how this looked on you. That may be because your skin is looking amazing!
Thanks, Kate!
Thank you so much for such an in-depth and honest review!! I'm on the fence for trying it and you hit on all the things I was interested in figuring out about it!
"faded gracefully" is exactly what I want from a light weight foundation 🎉
My skin loves this stuff! Now I'll wear it if I feel like my skin is dehydrated - it's almost like skin care! It brings my skin back to life.
I can't wait to order this and I'm going to try it mixed in with my NYX BB cream.
I've mixed it one time so far and it was lovely - so I bet it will work well! So far every which way I've tried this (different primers, no primer, or mixed) I have loved it. I also tried it lighter coverage with 2 drops and loved it. It's super versatile.
@@goow thank you so much for your reply! That makes me want to try this even more. I love your videos and content ❤
I’m guessing this might look good under foundation. I do that with the Erborian I think they call it a face enhancer. If you have not tried the Erborian can you please do a review on that one?
I've got the Erborian on my list to grab in the spring Sephora sale! Thanks, Gabby!
Geek Out of Water it’s a more pink toned product but u and I are the same age and have pretty much the same skin type so I’m excited to see your review! Thank you!
Well crap, now I’m intrigued!
Have a fabulous weekend!!!
You too, Leigh! Yep this one is pretty wild. In a good way.
Same issue here with the PMD - too yellow for me. I enjoyed this far more!
I've got to try this. My skin's so dry lately. Awesome thorough review!!
Thanks, Jen!
I'm also peeling from Retin A because I'm invincible too, so I know exactly what you mean!!!! It does look beautiful on you. I want some. xo
Hooray, Invincibles!!! 😂😂😂
Excellent review Shelly❣️have a great weekend
Thanks, Ruth!
I do like how it fades. Wonder how it would do w/ a powder foundation to set?...TY!
My skin is combination/oily so I am thinking it should be ok?!? xx
Wonder what that would be like mixed with a dryer, matte finish foundation or even as a tinted primer? 🤔
knittheniteaway I was wondering about using it as a primer too. I have considerable redness to deal with so I don't think I'd like it as foundation.
This will definitely be great in the parched air!
Shelly, it was good seeing you, have a Great Weekend, Love Ya and God Bless You 😇💞
Hey Cindy! Thank you! This one is so unusual in the best way! :) I wore it again today, 4th time. I love it!
@@goow ❤
I am so intrigued by this one!! Ya know, for the twice a month I wear light-coverage foundation.... Hope the house situation is getting figured out.
I wonder if this would work kind of like a primer under foundation? I'm intrigued!
That's the next thing I am going to try! I've worn it 4 times now and it is wild and awesome.
I might have to try this foundation.
Let me know if you do, Teresa!
Wow I am intrigued! My skin is normally combo but the weather is making my dryness worse. Wonder if you could mix cover FX drops with argan oil and get the same effect.
The ingredients are basically carrier oils and pigment, so I'm sure with the right ratios it would be similar. Worth a shot!
@@goow I'm definitely going to have the give the Kosas a try. Light makeup is my go to and I only buy cruelty free so that's awesome!
Thanks, Daena! This is going to be a fun one to play with.
I want to try the Gessa, too!
Off topic but did you do a comparison with the CT concealer VS your previous favorite video? Thanks for this review!
Hi Melissa! I haven't done that but added it to the list! :-D Thanks!
Do you mind sharing what Sunday you used underneath and how long you waited for everything to sink in before applying?
You look soooo gorgeous Shelly 😍😍😍 you glow girl! 😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks, Mimi!!
May I ask what retinoids you use? I’m thinking about trying curology but you seem to be getting success with what you’re using.
What did you say you have been using under your eyes? They are looking great! And with no concealer! ❤️
I use the Science Serum Bright & Tight in the mornings, which I think is doing great at keeping my purple away, and the Philosophy Ultimate Miracle Worker Fix Eye Power-Treatment at night, which I think is doing a lot of the smoothing.
That is a perfect shade match for you
What do you think would happen if you put a more full coverage foundation on top?
I'm guessing it would be a little finicky unless it was an oil-based foundation, but I'm thinking it might work as a mixer to a more long-wear foundation (the same way you'd add a drop of oil to a foundation). I'm going to be experimenting with this one a LOT!
Omg I'm so glad you reviewed this! I'm getting it in my boxycharm in october 2020 and I am not too sure about it....hopefully I like it. I'm just on edge because its oil?
It does sound strange but think of it as a tinted hydrator! My skin loves this stuff. I have 2 shades of it now :)
@@goow yay now I am really excited to be getting this and before I was honestly kind of bummed
Maybe you could mix it with other foundations to improve longevity? Great review as always❤️
That's my next experiment! :-D I'm thinking it might be a bit like adding oil to a foundation.
@@goow I'd love to hear how it worked with adding it to foundation! That would push me over the edge to buy it for sure.
Looks amazing. Best looking foundation I've seen on you yet!
It's wildly pretty!
I'm going to buy this one!
off topic but I just watched your video where you tried to recreate a beauty tutorial by Bailey somebody. OMG, I loved it! PLEASE do more of those!!!!
That one was fun!! I love her channel - Bailey Sarian. She does the most amazing eye looks and she's funny as heck. That was a brave day for me 😂😂😂
Really great review! I definitely want to try this one.
How does this compare this to The Ordinary serum foundation?
The Kosas is even more serum-y than the Ordinary version, I'd say (and I had very good luck with the Ordinary one). The Ordinary's is a little bit longer wearing on me - I think because it is slightly more like a traditional foundation but very thin in consistency, where the Kosas is kind of like, oils with pigment, and as the oils sink into the skin, the pigment dissipates. I did not have anywhere near the softening of the skin with the Ordinary as I did with the Kosas. I would say I enjoy both but prefer the Kosas.
How does this compare to the Josie Maran Oil foundation?
Unfortunately the Josie Maran is unwearable for me. I can use it as a mixer but on its own I've never been able to get it to work. It clings to all of my texture and dry patches. (I missed the return deadline, and the bottle is so pretty, so I kept it). So this one is far better on me!
i love this review and you!
I think it looks incredible
Thanks, Jeanine! I'm 3 tries in now and I am loving it!
@@goow I know you've pretty much tried them all but in my opinion this is the absolute perfect product you've ever used. Your skin looks amazing 😍😍😍
