I need my wife to see this video....I only do what you do as a hobby. Relatives, a few friends, etc, and especially grandkids that can't keep a controller functioning for long. My wife keeps asking why I need all the spare phones, controller boards and a few laptop PCBs - "junk" is what she calls it. But when I need a part, I can usually find it in my junk pile. Great work, sir
Still satisfying to watch even if it was only a short one. I think this video should serve as proof that if you dont mess with a broken device, Alex will most likely be able to repair it no problems. I love seeing big boss, your kids and any other family or friends who drop in, it makes these videos very wholesome and enjoyable.
Using the RF Choke from the switch was genius! Fun fact, RF Chokes (filters) filter out Radio Frequencies so your device has a clean signal on that line (or lines). You see them in a circuit when there's sensitive data being passed from one device to another, or one Chip to another. Like in HDMI Video Circuits to USB Flash drives, and so much more!
In case you're trying to fix yourself and don't have a similar filter, use a jumper wire to connect one side with the other. Long term fix would be buy the filter, but to recover the data, it will work just fine.
If you look at the PCB, it's 4 filters, one for each pci-e lane. My guess is those were the traces for first pci-e lane, so you probably could have moved a filter from the right most pci-e lane to the first and then the drive would have worked using only one or two pci-e lanes, and of course at potentially reduced speed, but nevertheless it probably would work.
They make nice external M2 USB enclosures that would benefit in testing if a repair works. Then you wouldn't have to install it into a laptop to test. Love your site, channel, and knowledge!
This is really small!!! I have a damaged M.2, and after watch your video taken a look at him....it´s impossible to see something on it using only eyes. Nice job!
Thank you for the educational videos and all the time and effort put into them. Love the channel. Suggestion: when do we see videos of repairs of monitors/tvs?
no need to apolozige Alex, isnt your fault if you are too good 🤣❤ is everytime a good start of the day seeing you and learn from your videos, greetings from Italy
This man can literally repair anything I swear.. like the military could just give him a broken get and say “oh here fix this”, and he’ll fix it in like an hour
Yes but not recommended. These filters are also fuses so if something has gone wrong with the supply, they sacrifice themselves (blew up) to prevent further damage.
Doesn't matter how long you fix it at least you got it fixed,. Awesome work Alex the Greatest. LoL Big Boss the greatest too and who's does work like this jobs y'all awesome greatest,. UA-camr fans. Y'all greatest too. Lol. god bless all. Enjoy your video short show.. thank
I got a ssd between my hands from my niece defective laptop and there something that I don't understand. There's 3 pin on one section and 2 in the back of the same section. Every other ssd that I saw online got all the pins on the same side. I've bought an enclosure for nvme pcie m.2 ssd but it couldn't find the drive, probably because of the back pins ... Is it normal that the ssd got that strange pins configuration??? Thanks for your help
my drive has the same scenario (kind of). i cant get the drive to read anywhere. i took it to Geek Squad and even they couldn't read it. it was working fine on my old computer, but now I cant read it anywhere.
apprently it happens to alot to M.2 SSD sudden death unrecogniable, if one does not have microscope and no hot iron tool what to do to rescue the drive?
hey mate, thank you so much for your effort I learned a lot from you, that's why I came today cause I really need help my problem is I have M.2 and I had installed the windows on it then suddenly it doesn't attend to any command if you remove files it will back again after restart or if you install or download anything will not exist after the restart even I try to format it externally but all data back again Please help me
A filter does a certain function depending on the use & case : some filters block dc while allowing ac (this case it's a capacitor) some block frequency an upper frequency, a lower one, a midrange (RC filters) some block ac while allowing dc to know more , do a web search on: filter capacitor
Well done 👍 one more time, " the job is done". This time there is no UV light to blow our eyes 😅😅😅 but you broke the warranty seal. Just for fun master
This is my drive I thank you so very much for the repair and the help!! Greetings from Italy!! THANK YOU!
it does not matter how long the video is to me. the knowledge you provide is enough for me! thank you as always for a great educational video!

Is that similar to how a capacitor smooths out a voltage line
@@trilexfix you are so right! Bingo !!
@@chasefournier you know it baby, feel free to check out our channel
also if you don't have a filter , you can connect the lines and hope for the best, actually it works.
my goodness, the shot at 4:44, really brings into perspective how small these components are
It dosent matter if the video is short it just shows how good you really are
I believe he said previously he has a queue of 1 month+

I still cannot comprehend the scale you work in. Those components are incredibly tiny! Yet there's so much control here

Love your site, channel, and knowledge!
I was going to make the same suggestion. A M.2 dock would be a perfect way to test these without having to install them in a laptop.
It may appear short in video, but I see the laptop was dismantled in order to fully test the device.
Great job.
Bro u re a very hard working honest man.
Every day another great video. Nice. I love that, 5 mins of relax and watch your perfect work. Amazing job. Thank you, greets
Short video or not, there’s always something to learn from your videos. Some repairs just involve attention to details.
Even better than data recovery, the customer also gets to use the SSD reliably like new
Better than factory
No doubt data recovery is biggest help to customer. You can always buy a new device but getting lost data back is generally impossible.
@@ApocDevTeam yes I know, but data + device recovery is even better than just data

No program for short Video... Your work is perfect... That we love it... 👍
I like short and sweet videos. Especially at work when I'm on my break.
I'm just came home from school, and check your channel, and you just upload the video 5 Hours ago.
Love your video✌🏻
Great and easy fix if you know what your doing. Great video even if it's short
This is really small!!! I have a damaged M.2, and after watch your video taken a look at him....it´s impossible to see something on it using only eyes. Nice job!
I very much appreciate your videos regardless of individual length.
The knowledge is invaluable.
Thank you for the educational videos and all the time and effort put into them. Love the channel.

No worries about short video, always a pleasure to watch and learn....your repair business adventure...keep it up insyallah you be blessed always.
If video is short then you should upload 2 short videos 😄 in a single day. We wanna see more... Awesome work 👌🏻👍🏻
no need to apolozige Alex, isnt your fault if you are too good 🤣❤ is everytime a good start of the day seeing you and learn from your videos, greetings from Italy
Short but, as usual, sweet. Bravo!
You are very experienced, that's why you just see and find out there has missing some component 👍
Gotta save old electronic components in case if I ever need to repair something..
Now this is a Nintendo SSD with a few Samsung components.
This Quick repair is a compensation for all of the Hiroshima Repairs. Good Job and have a nice Day. Greetings from Germany
Thank very much for the lesson's good work. looking forward to the next one. and please send my respect to the BIG BOSS.
Seems the key to building this type of business is as much the stock of donor boards as it is the tooling and skill set, particularly for fast fix.
After a successful repair the smile you have is awesome...i too in repair works and I know what does the smile worth...
This types of men need in India good men 👍
Ty for showing your fixes learned alot from you !
Thanks. Love short informative videos. Learn a little bit every day. 👍
short and sweet.great work
When being to good is a problem
Awesome as always
Short or long, we enjoy every video. ❤️
Good thing you knew/suspected about the filters of the Nintendo being similar or the same as the ones on the SSD!
well done in recognising the part required 👍
Nice! Short but informative. Thanks! 🙂
Please extend greetings to Big Boss☺️
Curious to know what kind of delay (non expedited) someone can expect when they send you something to repair ?
Great fix. I noticed that sticker, "Planet First" and then next to it "Warranty void if removed" 😅
better than factory!!! :D nice job ALX
This must be your shortest video, you have a keen eye for details.
Wowww !!! Sir , you can fix anything 👍👍👍
This man can literally repair anything I swear.. like the military could just give him a broken get and say “oh here fix this”, and he’ll fix it in like an hour
This might sound like a stupid question but would running a wire to bridge the gap of the filter also work?
Yes but not recommended. These filters are also fuses so if something has gone wrong with the supply, they sacrifice themselves (blew up) to prevent further damage.
What kind of filters are these? Where would you get them if you didn't have an old "switch" lying around?
As usual, excellent video. Thanks

Most important lesson today: backup important data!
Excellent video simple fix once you have the right tools
I guess if you aren't used to blown components, you're not going to see it. Was clear as day.
GOOD JOB MR NORTHRIDGEFIX, JOB AND DONE!😉
Even though very short time video but the information is big enough and thanks!
Expected this one to be without a short 😀😀😀.
you are amazing man love your work
"That's all you had to do? Can I get a discount?" 🤣
Big boss is a little bit shy 😉 but again a good repair!
Shorter the better. Nice fix
if you play with a lot of device, you can remember what kind of components looks like even though it is a different device :)
Is that drive now good for daily basis or do you tell customer to get out all data and buy u new one ?
Great Repair 🌻🌻
Good thing you turned on that filter, your mother might be watching 🤣
These m.2 drives are superfast. ha , ha that was a good one wishing big boss to enjoy his tea and meal. :)

Those tweezers are awesome...
just curious. can we just solder a jumper wires to those missing filters? will it work?
Yes. But a filter is used also as a fuse so you loose that safety
my drive has the same scenario (kind of). i cant get the drive to read anywhere. i took it to Geek Squad and even they couldn't read it. it was working fine on my old computer, but now I cant read it anywhere.
sir alex always uses solder wire and not the ppd pasts...i wounder why?

Exellent job sir,well done

love ur work bro,
If external SSD disconnected when transfer file, what is the issue from the SSD?
How you can find out the 100% same filter?
What kind of liquid that u used as finishing sir ?
That is Isopropyl alcohol.
Casually recognizes the same component on two completely unrelated devices.
how much charges ur getting to do dis
How do you get so lucky with easy fixes like this? all my m.2 drives are controller failure.
Can you Make video where you introduce your tools so IS easyer know what to buy 👍😃
