My father is from Dominica, mother is US south. Just ordered my kit. I still can’t believe I found a video by someone with a Dominica connection 😍
We’re out here ☺️
Both my parents are from Dominica 🇩🇲
What were your results?
Everybody from Dominica claims to be Native 🤦🏽
Addam Smyth given my results and my mom’s, I can infer my dad (the Dominican) is very African (specifically Nigerian), Italian, Portuguese, French, and English.
You did not get scraps sista..you are beautiful. Black people need to stop thinking like that. Great results btw.
Thank you and thank you for watching 😊
Great video, great accent, and beautiful young lady! Thanks for sharing your results!
I thoroughly Enjoyed Your Video, it was informative and refreshing, thanks for sharing !!!
I'm a Trini and I got 85% African (48% of it comes from Benin/Togo!), 7% from Norway, England, Ireland and Northwestern Europe, 3% from Spain, 4% from China (that's my dad lol) and 1% Native American-Andean 😊
Thanks for sharing 👍💯
@K gizmoz I highly recommend doing it, it's worth every penny. The results get more complex and slightly change over time, but that's only because it's refining exactly where your origins are from. Best of luck to you and your family!
Love the " we ain migrate dey took us dere" comment!!! I'm loving Honey & Lime!! My money is gonna disappear with that site!! LOVE IT!!!
Omg so excited to have found you! I’m from Dominica too but was born in st.croix. I just got my dna results too and just looked up your video out of curiosity! Wow ❤️
Everybody from DA says they're Locals 🤔 I'm from Rock btw!
I'm waiting on my results for my Ancestry. So happy to see my Caribbean people doing theirs
Love your shirt #Islandgirl representing 💁🏽♀️
Awesome Vid. I cracked so hard when you said “ They took us, there was no migration, they need to fix that!” lol
"I was left with the scraps"...👀 Honey, melanin (brown eyes) is a saving grace! You should be happy you have those eyes! The sun LOVES you! 🤨
One of the best ancestry videos thus far
"left with the scraps.." that says a lot about your world view.
Thinking the same... that's surprised me...
Yessss i loves this! Great video. Now i really wanna do mine.
You definitely should! It will be a surprise
Oh this is so nice! My great granny was Carib from Dominica, and her mother was Carib from Guatemala. Your color and face looks just like me and my siblings.🙃
Hello from Martinique 😘
Hey girl! I’m from STX. Born and raised. My maternal side are all from St. Croix, but my paternal side are all from and living in South Africa & Swaziland (they met in college lol). I’m soooo excited to see my results! Loved your video! 🇻🇮🇿🇦
Yesss🤗finally somebody from the VI🇻🇮
Whayou Saying!? 😎
I love how you have Maury as a lil thumbnail.😂😂😂
Lol glad you peeped it
Yes😂
Interesting results! I was looking for a fellow Caribbean who did the test to lol Ive got some family living in st croix. I recently did mine! I was born in St Lucia and both parents too (dad is a coolie - half Indian) My highest was 37% Benin/Togo, 26% Cameroon/Congo and 21% Southern Asia. We really are a big mix. Defo opens the door to finding out much more. Nice video!
Are you going to do a video?
I'm trini and just bought it for my husband and I!!!! Can't wait!!!!
I'm happy I ran into your video finally someone else who is from Dominica that I can speak to I just found that I am from Dominica 🇩🇲 and St. Lucia I cryed so hard when I found out cause I never knew and records of my family history have not been kept, I had planned a trip to the island of Dominca 🇩🇲 this year in 2020 but because of Covid 19 my plans was canceled. Btw did your ancestry results update?
Don’t call your dark eyes scraps some of the most beautiful people have dark eyes, For instance I think Gabrielle Union Halle Berry and Kim K are gorgeous! And they all have pretty brown eyes! There can be people who are not that attractive with light eyes and people with stunning light colored eyes. Eye color doesn’t make you attractive it can sometimes enhance attractiveness but it’s not “better” I would like to try out colored contacts not because I don’t like how my brown eyes look but because I think it’d be fun to switch up my look like with cosmetics. I tried them before and got tons of compliments because they looked so natural! I think some people should not wear them because they look fake on some, I think you’d look natural with contacts but without them your still REALLY pretty! Feel good about what you got! Your beautiful!
Loved it! Now I really wanna do mine
Thank you! Yes, do it!
You nailed it! Great job! 💕❤️❤️💕💖💕❤️❤️💖
Big up Dominica 🇩🇲 my mother’s native country.
Love it. I'm about to get my test done too. I'm from the vi but my parents are from Dominica. Can't wait to ser my results. VI strong 💪
I swear everybody in the Virgin Islands that came from Dominica is related 🤔
@@therealspeciesunknown you are so right. I've been saying the same thing for years. The DNA test was an eye opener
I’ve found out my results I’m 57% Benin and Togo, 17% Cameroon, Congo and Southern Bantu People, Ivory Cost and Ghana 11%, Mali 8%, Nigeria 3%, Norway 2%, Ireland and Scotland 2%, Italy 1%.
I would never thought of Norway or Ireland and Scotland, I knew about Italy. It’s amazing how they can pin point your ancestors and they found me my cousins 1-4 and distance too. My family keeps on growing and growing
It really is amazing. I m still discovering a lot of my family members
Me too I’m finding lots of cousins
I LOVE YOUR T-SHIRT! Please tell me you bought it online!
I did - www.honeynlime.com

Both my parents are from Dominica too but I was born in England London my family is big and this is why I’m going to do my dna test for my birthday, can’t wait, thank you for doing your video, stay blessed 💯❤️🙏🏾
Love ur shit! Imma def chk out that website. Great vid also!
Thank you! ❤️ I think it’s important to do it just to know
Really interesting video. Can I just explain that Africa is a diverse place so you also find people with different coloured eyes there too (albeit to a much lesser extent than Europe). I believe the different coloured eye mutation appeared on the continent of Africa before in Europe, because it’s a much older and diverse population. Brown eyes like yours are beautiful too. Also, I don’t think all those ethnicity figures actually added up to 100%. I think the company’s (23 & me) figures are a little off key.
Although I live in the U.K., I also have some relatives from the Americas (including the Caribbean) and they’re move like one side of your family (I believe you said) all over, Cuba, Panama, Canada, USA, etc etc. I think some people from the Caribbean really do like to travel or don’t mind travelling in order to find work. It was also interesting to learn about those countries in the Caribbean that have a high level of people who have completed DNA tests. Ok, thanks for sharing and peace 🙏😏.
Oh now I think were cousins! I just got my results 29% Cameroon/Congo
You Ptetty ASF😍 I love your head scarf
Thank you ☺️
Nice, waiting for mine to come back.
I’m 87% African and I love my ethnicity 🙄

I’m so confused 😭 so like why doesn’t Caribbean show up on there if some people are from there ?
‘Dem is my people.’ Funny. 😅😅😅
Both of my parents are from Dominica and my dad has Carib.
please show us that long beautiful hair... o Ye n the look on ur face when u found out u had British DNA was funny lol, most carribeans have British mixtures anyways tho
I'm a black Trinidadian mix with Chinese.....IT'S NOT EASY GETTING WEIRD QUESTIONS
Your genetic diversity made you a very lovely young woman.
eres togo africana muy bien eso me agrada tener orgullo de tu raiz
gracias. Tuve que usar el traductor de Google para entender lo que dijiste. lol. es muy apreciado ❤️
You have a Beautiful face with kindness in your eyes.
That Great Britain hit hard 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You can tell how diverse your country is by your accent as well. @ 5:50 I can hear a Scottish accent.
brown eyes are so beautiful girl!!
I don't like how they don't add up continental totals anymore. Why would they take that out? Smh. Either way nice vid Caribbean cuz.
As long as you know the boundaries within regions it doesn't matter just add them up it pissed me off too but having African friends and researching I figured it all out. Cameroon/Congo is some ibo and possibly hausa still nigeria and Congo would include Angola it was part of the kongo empire. Benin togo/ nigeria and parts of Ghana. Yoruba and akan ethnicity. This is just an example.
Your so beautiful! X
Thank you 😊
Their ancestry is probably part European and part African as the islands were settled during the slave trade from West Africa . West Africa has been defined in Africa as including the 18 countries Benin, Burkina Faso, the island of Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, the island of Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sao Tome and Principe and Togo. West Africa has 245 million people.
Cameroon and Mauritania is predominantly western Africa by culture similarity as well, just that they are not in ECOWAS
It should be more than that. Nigeria alone currently have 205million people
It should be more than that. Nigeria alone currently have 205million people
My people’s from Bahamas. I think mine will be similar to yours but without the Russian and Finland and more Asia since my mummy side all mix up
I'm Dominican, too! My dad and his fam. Lol. Same thing here, I started doing all of this genealogy because my grandfather was White West Indian and he and my grandmother died before I could meet them. And I have no clue, who his parents were, hence all of my research. My last name isn't really even my real last name. And I don't know what it should be. Lol.
Ancestry did not pick up my Caribbean migrations, which kinda ticked me off. But, it got all the Southern US stuff from my mom's side.
That’s what’s up. My parents are also from Dominica and I was born in St.croix, living stateside now. When I did my ancestry dna and myheritage, it said I was 99% African(ancestry) and 96%(my heritage). Further research into my last name I found there actually was an enslaved man back in the 1700s, who at the end of that century was 80 years who went by that name, Whole time I was wondering how I ended up with an Italian name and it even came up on my marker as 1% Italian.
How interesting! Thanks for sharing!
From tola 🇻🇬
Rock City Representative 😎
99% African, can you like try to break it down to ethnicities in Africa, I'll just let you know the exact place and country.
@@RAWAFRICATV Well Dna is ever evolving and these sites keeps changing every year so what I would post today and then next year may change.
100% africa
Oh I wish
Your makeup 😍😍😍
Newby here.. God! You so beautiful😘
Love from🇳🇴🇰🇪
Thank you so much ☺️
You are and it send bums😀💖😘
Beautiful gosh black women are just gorgeous 🤩🤩🤩
So wait your ancestors came from all these different countries in Africa..how accurate is that stuff?
wow so brown eyes are scraps? i think they are beautiful...
Dad and his parents from Dominica, too.
All the blacks are mixed up...at least those that were taken everywhere. Wish all of Africa would test themselves and other places.
Lol 😆
I'm from Rock & My mom is from DA as well .
People like, I ain't black, I'm Haitian, puerto rico, Cuba, European but most of y'all African DNA 🧬 over 85% tho! Wow 😮
Nago: are Yorubas. Also there is a place called "colon". From Benin/Togo to Nigeria. Nagos are also in Asia with almost exact words, names, & similar cultures.
I'm Caribbean. born in St Croix. Mother is from Nevis and her father is from Trinidad but I was told from my cousin that there is Portuguese. I was told that I have lots of cousins in the UK. Now I want to know....I am getting that shirt.
Same here! I have an uncle in the UK and he has kids. I don’t know any of them. I have other family besides my cousins on that side there as well. I’m eager to get to know as much as I can about my family over there 🙂
🇻🇬
I DID NOT expect anything Dominican when I click this video. I'm so used to us not being known 😂 I expected you to be Jamaican or something, and look ! They take it the most
I thought Trinidad, even after her 1st few sentences
About 80% African.. great results and thanks for sharing.. great to see ur Caribbean native American show up..
+Ito Roots She's part white, so she can't just say she's black or African.
azure kite You really are mistaken! Due to the history of the Sub Saharan African diaspora those of this ancestry are not all going to be close to or will be 100% African. In modern times being black only requires that a much larger portion of ones’s DNA is Sub Saharan African over any possible others (Sub Saharan African which is what historically is meant when we refer to humans labelled as black people). In vice versa the thing about having a larger portion of DNA applies to the other racial categories.
Kaylem Kerr in Puerto Rico more than 75% are mixed (regardless if there more lighter skins, not necessarily pale, than extremely dark skin) and what you say its true. The african diaspora will in very few times be full african. Even african americans are partly white, yet they are still black and its fine. Race is not as simple as the color of your skin or your dna.
Diana Hernandez Thanks for the information and response! I’m black British and I look nothing but black (from a Caribbean background but born and living in England). My parents were born in England too. Due to slavery I will have some European dna but I personally (due to individual family line) one of my Grandparents is half white and half black (mixed race). Despite this I find it silly for someone like azure kite to dare claim I cannot identity as black.
It's obvious she had native because it was inhabited by natives before slavery.
🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮 big ups
DNA got you face on nice
Kool results. Glad to see you are majority slave dna not slaver dna. There's lots of people especially in the Hispanic speaking islands who have majority slaver DNA and are proud but don't really realise the link between slaves (Africans and natives) and slavers (Europeans and natives if you are from America).....
You resemble Claire Huxtable from the Cosby Show. Has anyone ever told you that?
Asian and Native American have the same DNA so usually they are together. Look up DNA document in reservations of each tribe , the more south the native tribe will have African DNA.
Lol you are very sweet! I would one day love to do mine!
It's not scraps🤔 lol you're eyes are beautiful 🤗! You are beautiful
They say you shouldn’t use ancestry dna nor 23 and me because they use your dna for other things too so if anyone can find one that you do by blood
Aie Dominique ! Ophelia 😘
There were no borders back then and just your African ancestry just combined them together you are probably 50% African and beautiful
I plan to do my DNA test because I know there is a mix in my family and no one knows quite what it is.My family is too white to be Indians,so I'll do the test to find out what went on.
Did you ever do it? Will you make a UA-cam video about it?
I am gonna do one of those. I think it's quite interesting. My father is from the islands of Turks and Caicos and my mother is from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴🇹🇨
I am expecting mostly African because I am a black man, small portion of European, mainly England and the Iberian península and even a smaller portion of native indigenous known as the Arawak Tainos.
I’m actually interested in the outcome of this as well ☺️. Please keep me posted ❤️
@@CaribbeanSlim will do thx
We have to learn our specific Native American culture
You are soo beautiful😍
5.50 👍🏾
We're all mixed breeds ..it makes a mockery of flags and boundaries.
