Remember that a lot of African Countries share tribal origins since the borders were divided by colonialists without consideration for existing territories. It is likely that you descend from groups rather than 'countries'. You are naturally beautiful too.

Exactly my thoughts. The Cameroon, Congo and Southern bantus is probably mainly Kongo peoples and Mbundus from Angola. Congo-Angola regions suffered the most from slavery particularly the Kongo peoples as they were in 4 countries. (Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo and Gabon)
Benin/Togo can be many different ethnic groups such as Fon, Ewe, Kabye, Aja , Yoruba etc.

I’m from the North and South Carolina regions of the United States and my results were 95% African with predominant representations being Nigeria and Cameroon/Congo. It’s amazing how much so many of us have in common but we can go through life without realizing it. We truly are part of the African Diaspora.

Kinda sucks because those of European descent can trace their lineages back hundreds upon hundreds of years and find individual ancestors and sometimes use that to find distant relatives living today, while those of us in the african diaspora and even those in Africa have to settle for entire cultures and countries with innacurate borders. Still glad to have African blood, though.

It’s fascinating where all this leaves us , however I also think our original tongue( the Akan language family tree shines a bit more depth of how all Africans are connected besides all the biological facts and it’s proven to be vitally important getting into the etymological aspects of the search . connections to biblical stories in form of so called mythologies WEOURANCESTORS treasured before the Europeans came ( one of the reasons we accepted Christianity is because the stories were familiar ( they are actually versions of ours ). So African languages are super important and full of facts of who and what we are . The currency given to us by England in 1936 ( British west Africa ) is a also a big hint of our true origin as well. I’m a proud Guyanese besides being a prouder African . I think this is very important especially for people of African descent so they can understand where they are from. It gives blacks a sense of ethnic identity. The Caribbean blacks and American blacks were not allowed to practice their customs/ culture, language, religion, music so they are a somewhat disenfranchised group. Understanding where we are from, gives us a sense of pride of belonging to something larger than a pseudo-country that is only a couple hundred years old with a bunch of all different people in it.
