Take your son to "work" day! I love it. My son never had any interest in learning to work on cars, until his girlfriend had a flat tire, and she showed him how to change it!!!
Ford made a good truck , I had an LTL 8000 with a 270 Cummins power torque engine it had 2,400,000 km on it when I retired it. The engine was never rebuilt. It lost a valve one day and it ended up in the #2 piston. I fixed it up and drove it for another year after that. Good luck with your rebuild.
I vote on a 8v92 with twin turbos, Love the sound of a 2 cycle. But there are a ton of doner Cummins and cats from defunct motor homes. All of them are mated to 6 speed Alilson
I remember when i was 15 almost 16 my gather and I found a 1987 BMW 3 series for $300. It had been sitting under a tree for six months. We spent six months restoring it and rebuilding the engine. In a time when dad and I didnt talk as much we joked around and learned to have a different kind of relationship. I went from viewing him like a kid views their parents to seeing him as a man. Positives and negatives doing the best he could by me. I drove the car for a few years, but eventually needed something safer and with A/C. Now I wish I had never sold it, but its what I had to do at the time.
Hey message to the son, keep doing this man your dad’s a legend I’m only 25 not a ton older than you, these videos are awesome. Wish I had a Cool knowledgeable dad - diesel mechanic from Michigan
Thoroughly enjoyed this upload. I like the direction (the branching out of sorts from the shop) that you're taking the channel. Hope you and your son have a great time putting this old iron back into tip top shape!
I would have been disowned from the family for having helped my dad make himself look bad for what he has never taught me despite his job being to work on such stuff.
You sir have done a fine job raising that young man!! I love how he can go toe to toe with you on comebacks… do I spy a bendin with bendin jr channel in the near future??😂😂
Maybe pull the 5th wheel and put a camper shell (or build a box) to mount on the frame? Could be a cool camping/fishing rig for the fellas when they need to get away.
Ah, yes... the 8.2 Detroit. The sound of my childhood. Ride on many of box-nosed Chevy and gator-snout Ford school buses with that engine. They were around for so long that they were still on the road when I started driving school buses. Good times.
What a great buy! Buying a restoration vehicle that actually starts. My ex would always buy cars to restore but rarely would they have an engine. I’m looking forward to watching your restoration videos.
A five second blurb monthly on the pink hammer guard / barbie purse would boost viewer ship by Taylor fans. maintaining quality leather is possible with dexos naturally gas derived oil which blows out my tail pipe 1 quart per week
Q: Why are all Yank cars automatic? A: Because Americans are only born with one foot. Seriously bro. Get a manual. A "Stick Shift" as you yanks call it. Pretend you are a racecar driver or something.
I’m comment on here, hoping that you will gain some more of that money to start this project. money, money, money, money money show me the money and maybe some Biggins
I give your son an A for effort.. I have nephews his age that can't even put air in a tire and yes I've tried and I've tried and I've tried teaching, helping and showing but it's a no go unfortunately, Great channel Thanks..
Nice little project .looking forward to seeing what you do . And your daughter ? a deva for sure they always need to be in front of the camera ,so hand her a wrench .
Looking forward to seeing the work on the truck and having a good laugh love seeing a father son team that get along and have fun doing something they both enjoy
greetings from down the coast in corpus christi TX. we got a AeroMaxx pole truck were going to be working on soonish. cab is in noice shape needs one drip rail saved before it rusts out. i like that hat
Solid point on that dash being better than any Sterling dash. I've got to hold my brake valve to pull it on the old Sterling we use for a backup mobile crane at work.
That apple landed so close to the trunk that you two are sharing ground water! Happy Father's day!
By the end of the series, child will have cutoff sleeves and his own version of Bob...
Your son... bright boy! We should be seeing more of this lad. He's funny lol.
I'm so glad your son identified the major problem with that FORD is the GM engine under the hood. LOL 🤣
Take your son to "work" day! I love it. My son never had any interest in learning to work on cars, until his girlfriend had a flat tire, and she showed him how to change it!!!
I wish my father was a mechanic so I could’ve learned at a young age
“Found the dipstick” 😂😂
Some good dad jokes in here for sure
Your kid is funny as hell. Seems like a good kid. If yall keep working on this truck i think the videos will do well.
Someday, the two of y'all will look back at this video and slap each other! 🤣🤣
Guarantee that kid has held a flashlight for the old man more than a few times.
More times then I can count and he actually loves every minute of it

Excited to see what you do. I have a 82 Ln700 that I use as a service truck.
I enjoyed the video. It sounds like your son is excited to do a project with his dad.
Notice he didn't correct his son, he just agrees in a slick way that keeps him out of trouble with his own mom
"That's your GRANDMA! " 😂🤣🤣
I vote on a 8v92 with twin turbos, Love the sound of a 2 cycle. But there are a ton of doner Cummins and cats from defunct motor homes. All of them are mated to 6 speed Alilson
Awesome, you and your boy are doing it together 😊😊
That's a Cool/ Good dad right there trying to teach his boy something!! Hats off to you dude!
Love the banter between big Bend and little Bend 😂
It’s all day everyday around here
Cool old truck and your time with him is going to be priceless
Happy father's day! Absolutely love your videos and appreciate you passing along your knowledge and wisdom
I don’t know if I’d put up with him. Throwing shade on your bbq. 😂😂😂😂
I would definitely get rid of the 8.2. A 6v92 Detroit would be cool. Could do a 3208 cat they were popular in that vintage trucks
I keep waiting for Darrell and the other brother Darrell to appear 😅
Nice truck with lots of potential. Can't wait to see it all fixed up.
Keep it up. I’m watching it all.
as a truck/equipment mechanic I love the videos man, love them fords! always great content man!

The fact that it started up is good. It will make a nice truck to tow the boat with.
My takeaway from this: Truck is now named Clifford
😂this kids funny 😂 keeping old pops on his toes with all those comebacks😂😂❤❤
Aww man you gotta just scrap that, cuz I Need your doors for my water truck😂😂😂 No for real cool project have fun.
That kid needed to be repeatedly poked with Bob for the Carolina Squat comment. *points to fiberglass panels* “Get to sanding!”
*Evil laughing ensue*
" not a mechanic unless multiple projects" Amen to that.
Cool. I like seeing your videos. Good to do a father son build.
Looking forward to seeing what you guys will do with it🎉🎉

Enjoyed the video, lay that wisdom on the pup👍
This kid is gonna turn alright. Thanks for sharing this project
I need more of this series. Definitely.
The father son back and forth is classic.
I would have been disowned from the family for having helped my dad make himself look bad for what he has never taught me despite his job being to work on such stuff.
Widow maker was a split rim.the rim actually had to hook together in the middle rather than the bead.you have a split ring/bead wheel there.
This truck has split flange wheels .
7:07 😂😂😂😂😂 "it's a frord, its not used to runnin" your son is funny
Ford with a GMC another words Detroit.
Have lil-Bob Jr in the shop standing behind you and comment on everything in all your videos. Will make great content.
Family is everything enjoyed the video
Bro Im super excited for this build love the bond between you and your son mad props my guy
I love it. I love it. Keep making more of these videos with your son. Great job guys. I love all the contact you’re putting out.
I think it’s awesome that you get to spend some time with your son and teach him something useful. I’m all in on watching, likes, and sharing this.
‘It looks like Clifford the Big Red Dog on Ozempic’ 🤣
I’m 28 but this kid reminds me a lot of myself! He’ll turn out just fine. Keep him pointed towards bigger and better things!
You sir have done a fine job raising that young man!! I love how he can go toe to toe with you on comebacks… do I spy a bendin with bendin jr channel in the near future??😂😂
Can’t wait for the progress! Is that the same Detroit diesel that they put in 80’s square body chevy trucks?
No...this was a medium duty truck engine that is widely known as one of the worst engines GM ever produced...
Your Son his killing it! Awesome video. Had me genuinely laughing!
Maybe pull the 5th wheel and put a camper shell (or build a box) to mount on the frame? Could be a cool camping/fishing rig for the fellas when they need to get away.
Happy Father's day, God Bless teenagers and out of work comedians.

I had a GMC FUEL PINCHER in my truck , backed up really fast and hit the brakes really hard , it slid out onto the scrapyard’s ground !
Fantastic. Love the interpretation between the two of you.
Like father like son. Happy father's day sir.
You guys are a trip. Keep going this. I love the chirps from both of you
Wonder where the Kid get his Quick Wit. LOL
I dunno but it isn’t from anyone in this video, so my guess would be his grandma?
😂😂😂constant zingers from the family. Awesome. 😂😂😂
was waiting so long for the "dipstick" joke to come around
old man used that on me the first time we worked on his truck XD
Loved the video 💯 💪

Awesome dad and great kids. Well done. Happy Father's day........
Your boy got your sense of humor. This is going to be great 👍🏽
What a great buy! Buying a restoration vehicle that actually starts. My ex would always buy cars to restore but rarely would they have an engine. I’m looking forward to watching your restoration videos.
Respect for releasing this on Father's Day. I hope you get the ad monies to restore this truck with your son.
A five second blurb monthly on the pink hammer guard / barbie purse would boost viewer ship by Taylor fans. maintaining quality leather is possible with dexos naturally gas derived oil which blows out my tail pipe 1 quart per week

This will be a good father son project, and don't let the boy know he is kinda funny....lol
To think that was 'Brand new once'?! Soon to be twice! Very Hilarious video bro! Awesome Fam!🇺🇲
Most cars have 3 dipsticks
1 for engine oil
1 for transmission fluid
And 1 that drives the car
Q: Why are all Yank cars automatic?

Looking forward to seeing the work on the truck and having a good laugh love seeing a father son team that get along and have fun doing something they both enjoy
I think the Ford diesel that came in those trucks was somewhere around 180hp the one I had was made in Brazil.
Going to be a fun series. I redid a 74L8000 with a gas factory engine 2 years ago. Only yearvwith that option and it hauls great.
greetings from down the coast in corpus christi TX. we got a AeroMaxx pole truck were going to be working on soonish. cab is in noice shape needs one drip rail saved before it rusts out. i like that hat
Can tell the Dad is a good father figure. Kudos!
The editing in this one is really good. No dull spots and nice mix of humor and knowledge.
Solid point on that dash being better than any Sterling dash. I've got to hold my brake valve to pull it on the old Sterling we use for a backup mobile crane at work.
Detroit 8V92 two stroke would be so bad ass !!! They sound so cool . Don’t know how hard parts are to get anymore if at all .
Damn 5:42 was hilarious 😂😆. Happy late father's day
