That is a really nice looking truck in my opinion. Everytime I see you do one these type of videos I want to start singing, "Come on baby, let's do the twist." Be thankful that none of y'all can actually hear me sing. Even my dog looks at me funny when I do. 😂
Much respect to ya. I have been a truck mechanic for 20+ years. The people who hate on you have no idea what it takes to do what you do. Much love to ya
I am peterbuilt through and through. I have around 700000 miles on a pete 379 and she never left me stranded. What a great truck! I cant say enough about how she did me right. She was a counterweight truck with a flatbed installed on an extended frame. She had a cat engine and she pulled the crane out of the mud and got me theough the mud and clay time after time. She was affordable and you could depend on her day after day. Looking back, i have many fond memories of her being reliable and stout. Im thankful for the time i got to spend in her. It was a great truck. I have absolutely no ill feelings towards her and i spent a lot of time in her and i was responsible for her maintenance and care. I cant say enough about how great a truck she was. Never let me down.
Happy Birthday young man, and all that you ever wish for, as well. Great demo. I'm buying a rack now, and going into business for myself. lol! Stay well my friend!
Man. And I thought my days of pulling unibody cars/light trucks sucked at times. Framework is an art form in knowing how much and how far. Great video!
Really love this video. Your are really a teacher. If all educational videos were like this I would retain every single second the 1st go. Perfection captured in time. Keep doing you 🙏❤
I was assigned a 379 that was all most new (58,000 miles) in 2005, I hated that truck until it got its first alignment. I had to complain about how bad that truck would walk around and be a hand full to keep on the road, it would pull to the right hit a bump and pull to the left hit a rut and dance back and forth. I talked with some older drivers and they would tell me it wasn't right and mention one thing and they were right. and the shop that did the alignment took a pretty solid 8 hours to fix that one thing (well more than just one) - but once fixed that truck was one of the best trucks I ever drove. Care to guess the problem?
broken leaf at air bag, steering box loose, bad torque arm bushings, bad u-joints in steering shaft, steering shaft splines worn out, broken cross member
This video brings back memories. Had that same truck rack minus two ramps stuffed in a small shop mostly for alignments. Loading iron on the rack could be painful, i do agree.
Man it must be nice to be in warm weather up here in the north the weather is s*** right now and you're walking around with your shirt half open I got two jackets and a sweater on and it's still freezing ass in my shop
I've always been the person that only lets on technician work on my vehicles especially when it comes to line ups and the same is for my frame work I find who is the best and I stay with them ! It might cost more but I don't like those who half ass their work ! Although I don't drive a Semi I do have a 3/4 ton Dodge Ram with the 5.9 Cummins 2002 yr. And it was involved in a pretty serious accident and I had to have some framework done so I hunted tge best in Kingsport Tenn. It paid off costed a bit but paid off in the long run still driving the truck today ! So you would be a technician I'd would want working on my Semi if I owned one ! Professional is what I call your work ! 👍👍
Benden, could you please do a video of the front spring bushings? The bashings that hails the front springs on is what I’m talking about. How do you know when they are worn out?
Man I had a question on if you have seen the 07 bluebird front engine flatnose school buses with the cat accert c7 frame cracks issues at the front upper shock mount bolt holes? And if so what is your opinion about what causes this issue. We had several hundred of them with frame cracks across the nation
Speaking of hood bushings,I need a set on the bulldog forward axle 613 I drive, thank goodness for the hood alignment guides- cups on edge of firewall - cab
Close. 379 came out in '88 model year. 359 was last built in' 87. Both good trucks. If you want to confuse people, 359 had 3 hood lengths. And 379 had 2. Standard hood 359, is same length as short hood 379. Extended hood 359 and 379 are same length. And if memory serves me correctly, the 359 short hood is 113". Other 2 are 119 and 127".
I don't wanna get people TOO interested in this comment..... But it does seem like you have good tunes in the shop.... which is a huge plus, I'm not gonna lie....
Aww 🥰 thanks for taking the time to do video,s and time uploading it All really Kool to see and learn,s thankless job 🦄💞 people who keep it all going🐒💨 everyday ❤ o yeah Happy birthday 🎂🦄💞
What about double and triple frames. Can they be repaired and is the procedure different? I drive heavy wrecker and recover wrecks and yes I’m sure I create more frame damage than the accident did.
I'm 59 and broke my butt knuckle when 46 ... now my adventures are light weight. When in Ohio I helped a friend put in a semi tranny , another time broken front leaf... how do u break that big a leaf spring......he let me ride along delivering tires for Western tire..that was fun as hell slingen tires out the trailer...it was in early springish and we were coming through Detroit area ,the road was so rough it made the cab like a paint shaker,l couldn't believe everything on the dash floated in mid air a inch to one and a half including the revolver,if I tried to put my arm on the arm rest I probably would have punched myself....that trip explains the broke front leaf...what a ride....thank you for the awesome truck stuff 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾😎(stray cats)😎
Can anyone out there tell me why, since I know absolutely nothing about, or even related to, trucks and mechanic shop stuff etc., do i love this channel? 🧐
It's nice to watch a video instead of a short one be nice if you could keep them all a video instead of shorts is kind of you don't get to see everything
My uncle bought a new Peterbilt cabover in 1972 for $80,000. He long hauled it for 20 years. Surprisingly little went wrong but it was noisy and the ride was rough.
Great content! You do great work and know your trade! My only input is instead of saying “expert professional opinion” use SWAG “scientific wild-ass guess”…. I’m a old Jarhead Marine and I’m constantly using this term when individuals are trying to give me so called “expert” opinions….. Keep It Simple & Stupid!!
Happy Birthday Mr Bendon! Really enjoy watching these long detailed videos! You are The Best of the Best at what You do and that means a whole lot to me. I would love to have You check out my Truck if I ever get into Your neck of the woods for sure. That would be such an Honor. Keep up the awesome work my friend and stay safe out there and God Bless.🙏🏻👍
It's my all-time favorite truck. Not that anyone cares, but my 4 favorite trucks are the 379 Pete, Kenny K-100 Aerodyne, Ford L-9000, and the Mack R model. Glad ya got this one straightened out and back to work.

A lost art of frame repair, love it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY

Nice work! They referred to me as an automotive chiropractor back in my frame machine days!
Thanks for the laughs. "You`re a funny guy" Y`all really showed your stuff here. That`s a lot of work moving around them chains and such too.
I find these enormously fascinating. I think I watched every single one. Thank you, Devon.

Peterbuilt did at one time have aluminum frames too. They didn't last too long. Do you re-arch trailers too? Good job on the sandbox hauler.
Man I had a mullet back in the day but it never as glorious as yours- respect!

I like the truck info/story time with Bob.
Happy Birthday Devin & Bob !! Don't worry about misplacing shit. Story of my life too.
I'll ask a simple question what is your favorite transmission speed to drive 10 super 10 13 ,18 or automatic
Benden, could you please do a video of the front spring bushings? The bashings that hails the front springs on is what I’m talking about. How do you know when they are worn out?
Happy belated birthday! Please please do alignment videos on different trucks
Happy Birthday to ya... cool clip..

What radio station is on in your workshop? Thanks for these longer videos. Interesting stuff. 👍
Necessary work, well done!👍
Question is Brandon welcome you don't just air it up with your shop are and it'll stay at the ride height that it needs to be?
Some times I do. Didn’t on this one. Wasn’t in the mood to swap the fittings. 😆
@@bendinwithbendon 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@bendinwithbendon have 2 trucks with twist where are you located at or what’s a good contact or business card
Thanks
Great video!
How many shops have your capability?
Are you the only one in the state, or is this a common thing.
That "semi straight" was a knee slapper
I’ve seen a few wonky trailers and vans on I-45 that could use your touch.
Aww 🥰 thanks for taking the time to do video,s and time uploading it All really Kool to see and learn,s thankless job 🦄💞 people who keep it all going🐒💨 everyday ❤ o yeah Happy birthday 🎂🦄💞
Editing 2 😊
What about double and triple frames. Can they be repaired and is the procedure different? I drive heavy wrecker and recover wrecks and yes I’m sure I create more frame damage than the accident did.
Since the frames are so flexible, do they occasionally just need work as a matter of course, like a maintenance item?
Did one of your kids get a graphics program for the intro? Hitting the big leagues now.
The title. Oh my God bud.😂

Because who haven't worked the frame rack in a few weeks.
What else do you do there?
Videos please
He does pretty much everything there.
Happy birthday day Bendon.
How are the aluminum frames on the older 359 Peterbilts to straighten? And are the aluminum frames as durable as steel?
yep, Bendin always breaks out the knee pads when he's dealing with a BBC.
Gross 😂😂
Just curious how many billable hours a repair of this magnitude involved.
Can anyone out there tell me why, since I know absolutely nothing about, or even related to, trucks and mechanic shop stuff etc., do i love this channel? 🧐
Being shown stuff is cool and this guys delivery is juuuust funny enough but still serious and knowledgeable
😂😂🎉 Happy Birthday bro

straight cut , 45 * or zee / step cut best to shorten - splice frame ?

So frame straightening , more of an art than an exact science?
