The extra damper and hoses are to put your machine in vacation mode when you don’t print daily . The clear protect fluid goes in the extra cup and extra damper which goes into the print head to keep them moist and not dry out when not in use .
Just recieved this printer too. There is quite a bit of waste ink if yo don't use it much ,but hopefully I will be making more prints in future, since I have just started. I had to wait a whole month for the printer but it was the fault of dhl and customs, and the procolored team were very nice with me to help me out. Have done a few prints and they are wonderful
Thank you so much Marilyn, I just received my printer yesterday and could not figure out how to do the ink. I noticed from your video that I might be missing the black tray for the excess printhead ink. Do you have any suggestions?
Marilyn, can you do a video on how to manage the print area of the film? I got the L1800 and, when I do the nozzle check, it prints before the carriage is even over the film. I printed one shirt and, when I had the image left-justified on the machine, it printed off the film. When I centered the image on the screen, there was a good bit of wasted film. I want to be able to make the most of the film that I have, but can't figure out how to manipulate the print area.
You made it look easy! I want one.😊 Did you have to turn off your anti-virus software to install the pro rip software? I asked another you- tuber this question but they never replied to it. Also how is the printer holding up since you got it? Do you love it, hate it, undecided? Any issues yet?
I did not have to mess with the anti-virus software at all but I have heard that some people with DTF printers have had to turn theirs off. The printer is doing very well. I liked the first printer I had (the L-805) but I really do love this printer (L-1800). It's not a fast printer, but I don't think most DTF printers are fast. I have not had any issues with the printer so far. It stirs or shakes the ink on its own, which really helps.
@MakingwithMarilyn Thank you for replying to my questions. Glad to hear you're still liking your new printer. It definitely helps me in making a final decision on whether or not I will purchase one. Have a great day!
I do have an older video where I added it before using my first DTF printer. I don't remember how in depth I went. If you are comfortable letting ProColored's customer service walk you through it or even let them take control of your computer, they were very helpful to me when I had a software issue that had to do with resetting the waste tank feature.
I understand that concern. You might want to opt for purchasing transfers until you decide you are ready, or you may decide you don't need one. The L805 that I got first requires more maintenance than this machine. The L805 required more pulling of ink through the dampers once in a while. With this one, I have used the cleaning button on the front on days that I don't print, though I have missed days here and there, and so far I have had no issues. Eventually I will likely have to do something to hep it along, but it's been smooth sailing so far. I do like the convenience of being able to print at home.
Mine is already attached, so I won't be remaking the video. I'm sorry it wasn't good enough for you to see the details. Procolored does have videos as well so you should check theirs out.
Either you have 2 ink lines/tubes going into the yellow ink tank, or you accidentally put yellow ink into one of the white ink tanks. Have you already figured out the problem? I'm just curious what happened and I'm sorry because it has to be terribly frustrating.
@ it won’t even do a test print! It’s not recognizing printer. I installed uninstalled! Pro rip app it say ripped but yhn get printing error! I can’t even get nozzle ck print

Do you have a video on how to maintain the unit like cleaning as well as getting all the ink off the inside?
Not yet, but I plan to as I have this machine longer.
