dude, you are crousin around at 6000rpm (!) in 3rd gear while doing the speed limit. Do you want your engine to wear out prematurely? If power is not needed, go into highest gear, saves your egine, saves fuel.
When was the last time you wore out a motorcycle engine? When was the last time you ever seen any motorcycle with a worn out engine that didn't have over 100000 miles and that wasn't poorly maintained? Probably never. Motorcycle engines aren't made out of cheese they are built to be used and enjoyed. 6000 rpm is nothing for this engine this bikes engine is actually buzzy under 5000rpm and goes ultra smooth after that, it's where it wants to live above 5000rpm it's made to live there. Sure on the straighter parts he could have gone up to a higher gear but it doesn't really matter. My brothers got a 2007 cbr1000rr that he got with 17000 miles and it now has 80000 odd and he still thrashes the snot out of it. I rode it the other day and it rides like my 16000 mile zx10r. How many bikes get crashed with less than 20000 miles? or even 5000 miles? If this guy "thrashes" his bike for 70000 miles and say it blows up is that good or bad? Considering how difficult it actually is to thrash this bike within the speed limit i'd say you don't have to worry about stressing the motor riding like he is. This is a mass produced bike made to be enjoyed. How many 3rd gen zx10r's didn't even get half the life this one already has. I mean how many years would it take most riders to achieve 70000 miles? You will probably get a new bike before then.
Yeah I’m around 5 to 6k rpm range on my bike when cruising….. motorcycle engines are high revving machines, like I said I’m around that rpm range at cruising speeds and at spirited runs I’m higher in the rpm range

I have the same bike and I cruise in 1st gear on the highway at 12k all day trying to blow it up and it won't. LOL
