Thanks for watching our video FANTASY WRITERS react to LEAGUE OF LEGENDS Champion Cinematics || Part 3
One thing that always makes me smile is the little callbacks and Easter Eggs they put into the cinematics.
In the Ryze cinematic, if you pay attention, you can see how his scroll is cut off at the top from his fight with Nocturne in the A Twist of Fate cinematic.
In the Pyke cinematic, the underwater "mech" is Nautilus. Both he and Pyke were released to Wild Rift at the same time. And that is how big Nautilus is in the League world. You saw him in the A New Dawn cinematic as the giant guy with the Anchor on a chain that looked sort of like a Big Daddy from Bioshock.
Also, when you get to Senna, I want you all to keep The Climb in mind since you've already watched it. Because The Climb actually fits in between her teaser Dark Passage and the cinematic Shadow's Embrace despite having been released years before. And this was intentional on Riot's part.
Something else to keep in mind, Wild Rift is literally the mobile phone version of League of Legends, so the champion trailers for it always kind of feel watered down compared to the ones for the primary non-mobile game and other projects.
Ahhh all great notes! Thanks friend!
That giant thing in the water was nautilus a league of legends champion he was in the a new dawn cinematic
If you're wondering why Pyke was looking at the list, it is because he is hunting down the crewmates who was on the same ship as him when they're out hunting giant monster fish and cutted his rope, leaving him to in the jaws of a beast
the one who saved Jayce was originally ryze, they showed the full 3d model of him it had Ryze's face. But remember they had to rewrite some season 2 stuff and it might have involved changing that too
funnily enough, the situation of someone he cared about getting tempted by a world rune happened twice to Ryze, first with his master, then with his disciple, who later became Brand.
A while ago I left a playlist on the discord server (I'm Nin on there, with an Arcane Viktor icon) with all the shadow isles, ruined king and ruination related cinematics in chronological order, including some cinematic teasers for the book which I greatly recommend. In the book you can see at the epilogue how the build up for the rune wars starts from the cataclysm provoked by the world rune at the blessed isles (now shadow isles). Some of the cinematics from that playlist you've already watched so you can skip those, or rewatch them without putting them on the video just to remember them. (I wouldn't mind watching you reacting to them again for the context of that playlist though.)
just to add those giant trees in Call of Power are Petricite Trees they absorb magic and basically anti-magic, not only did Ryze used the roots of those trees to lock up the world runes, he can actually cast his teleportation while his magic is being drained by the entire forest
CALL OF POWER!!! FINALLY
Right! Only like 2 months later haha.
FIDDLESTICKS was in the part before this as well! 😃
Yeah Viego did a lot for Isolde, his wife, but same time, like we hear from her later, her time had come and, instead of just cherishing the love they enjoyed together, he refused to let it go and made himself a monster and perverted what love they had.
Isolde died, straight up. iirc She took the brunt of an assassination attempt on him which is how she died. He tried to pull healers and techniques from all over to "save" her even long after she died which is how he heard of the Blessed Isles and that pool of healing. When they turned him away because he was literally carrying a corpse with him, he had a sect of his knights betray the more noble half of his knights, killing them and everyone on the island in his way (which is why at the beginning, you see the monks of the island impaled around the pool). And when he put a dead body into the waters, he tried to essentially force Isolde's soul that had already passed back into her body while healing a body with no soul - leading to her soul being shattered and latching onto whatever she could (usually items close to her in life, like he handsewn doll Gwen, or the music box) and her body "reviving" as a soulless ghoul carrying Isolde's anger at Viego for ruining the peace and love they had. And the sheer unholiness, death, and desecretion mixing with the holy energies essentially merged like pure oxygen and an open flame: boom.
*Also fun fact: Thresh is also at least half to blame for it. He was a monk on the Blessed Isles but was bored and with twisted thoughts and obsessed with knowledge. So, seeing Viego and his group causing chaos, he led Viego to the healing pool himself, mostly just to see what would happen.
The one he is missing was eaten by Nunu’s pet yeti. Thats why he looks so cartoony and can spawn snow out of nothing. The missing rune is the inspiration rune which lets you make imagination true
If you go deep in the runtera lore you will realize that ryze is the main character in league of legends so he's basically trying to save the world by completing the runes around the world
Pay the tithe or be pulled down by Nautilus.
Even though I loved playing The Mageseeker, and would probably love the other main Riot Forge games, The Ruined King is by far my favourite of the story-based Runeterra games. I don't even like that style of turn-based fighting games (BG3 or the XCOM series is far superior imo), but the story and exploration in Ruined King is peak and more than makes up for my distaste of the fighting mechanics.
Thresh looks different there cause it's a cinamatic for wild rift and they couldn't do his original design cause of censorship reasons.
wait what? Even though both games are made by Riot?
@Thresh from Chinese PC version is also slightly altered, My guess is they didn’t want to spend resources to design two different versions of Thresh for two different versions of wild rift. Later on they ported this version as a skin in PC and made it cannon.
@@nieolklimbu i'm still confused at the part that they could get Thresh's original form is because of copyright? How did that happen?
@@Junweitrustnobody1403 It's cause of censorship laws in china not copyright, China does not allow skeletons to be depicted in their media so they had to slighty alter his design for Chinese version of league but for some reason completely changed his design for wild rift.
@nieolklimbu ah i see, damn. That sucks
I'm assuming this was reposted. Regardless, 1st!
Don't forget "Breathe - Legends of Runeterra trailer" "You Really Got Me - Wild Rift trailer" and "Bel'veth - All that will ever be"
nah they acidentally cut off the end
@@miccarl1208 Yeah its technically a repost because the end had an error and wouldnt play half of the video 😁
@@miccarl1208 Yeah all the Bel'Veth vids are in part 4 and Breathe is in part 5 which are already on patreon so they will be coming to youtube soon/within the next couple of weeks
@@astravisionstudios I hope Call of the Mountain is in there someplace. :)
Ryze the true protagonist of Runeterra
