The reason the Bel'Veth videos were short was to build hype and intrigue for the new character in small doses. It worked like a charm. Such a fun new character
Bel’Veth story is one of my favs in Runeterra, she has the Empress of the Void title because of a cool twist , she also has one of the craziest stories in League. She was born when the Void consumed a Shuriman harbor city called Belveth-everything: the people, the buildings, even the ocean. But instead of just erasing it all like the Void usually does, she absorbed it, including the memories and emotions, to create herself as something entirely new. Her true form is this massive, manta ray-like creature, influenced by the marine life she consumed from the harbor. It’s a terrifying mix of aquatic features and Void monstrosity. But here’s where it gets even more interesting: she’s not loyal to the Void. She’s considered a tumor because she’s rejected its goal of endless destruction. Instead, Bel’Veth has her own plans. She wants to overthrow the Watchers-the gods of the Void-and reshape everything into her own vision, which she calls the 'Lavender Sea.' To interact with mortals, she uses a fake humanoid face to appear more approachable, but it’s all a trap. Beneath that disguise is her horrifying true self, ready to consume anything in her path. As the Empress of the Void, she’s not just another Void creature-she’s a rebellion, a predator, and a nightmare aiming to rewrite existence itself.
The thing I love about Bel'Veth is as she said, she is not a mindless voidspawn. She absorbed everything in the City of Belveth hence getting her name "Bel'Veth", she absorbed so much people, animals etc. that even human thinking she learned. She started to hate her "masters" and she wants to be the void itself, she became conscious, for a voidborn that's the first instance that we see that is no longer bound to The Watchers. Great character, also love using her ingame. also edit: Really cool detail on her cinematic with Kai'sa, her human face being not in sync with the voice is cool, she absorbed humans but haven't really seen how human speak so it makes sense that she doesn't know how human lips should work. Makes her design creepier in my opinion, and that is a huge win for character design that should look creepy.
The thing about the Vel'Koz trailer is that it was the culmination of a bunch of snippets, a bunch of League players back in the day put these little flashes of Vel'Koz's eye during their gameplay footage like Vel'Koz was watching over the players before we got that reveal trailer
you three have become my favorite LoL content creators (tied with the king Necrit), I love the insight that you guys have on all of the characters. I know Necrit has videos on Ornn and Volibear, as well as Trundle stories you guys should do a reaction! Keep up the great videos.

@karolinask_cz ohh yeah i think this video released on patreon before the black rose video because that released suddenly lol And that would be awesome to learn more about annie, i think were all interested!
The reasoning for certain champions getting more love than others comes down to a couple of factors IMO. 1. These champions are popular with the players and/or Rioters who want to make something for their favourite champs. Kai'Sa is one of the more popular champions, which is why she is in KDA music videos, multiple season start cinematics, and the Bel'Veth trailer. Jinx and Vi were/are super popular, and that's one of the reasons why they used their story for Arcane. If they weren't loved by people, they would get nothing (Looking at you, Shaco). 2. Their original theme/design is super basic, which is a lot of the original 2009 era champions (Annie and Amumu are in this boat). For example, Annie's theme was "devil child" or "evil girl", so they made a kid with devil powers who had this absolute joy from burning people with her fire. But because she was beloved by Riot/the players, they went ahead and expanded on her, to give her a reasoning for doing what she does.
The watchers are the void, think of the void as another faction and of the watchers as the rulers/leaders. Bel'Veth is kind of a rebel subfaction, she doesn't want to destroy runeterra like the watchers, she wants to transform it to her own image. She basically is a voidborn that somehow gained her own will to do what she wants. The ones frozen at freljord by Lissandra are the watchers, not all of them, some of them managed to retreat back to their dimension in time. Void rifts are what the watchers create to poke into runeterra, but because they can't fit through them, they use the rifts to touch beings and create the voidborn, Vel' Koz, the eye of the void, is the oldest of the voidborn, he probably was alive when Volibear Ornn and Anivia were still terraforming the plante lmao. minor void spawn/voidlings are really weak. Ryze in the call of power cinematic fights a voidborn, looks like velkoz but it wasnt him, and obviously not a watcher, it would have been a longer fight lmao.
So the Void is really cool, but also is deeply connected with the backstory and one of the doom clock of the setting. And for that you actually need to read on Freljorn, the magic viking setting. See that's where the Void first came in and where the really scary Voidborn are kept on ice. Literally. And the ice is melting.
3rd! Bel'veth and Kai'sa designs are so freaking cool. Also both of their stories and lore are awesome. Also I know Riot is pretty much amazing at a lot of things, but I really love the sound effects they are able to create along with a very large diverse pool of characters. I really love the sound effect that from opening of season 2, episode 8 with the necklace Mel receives and I think it's at the end of "Welcome to Noxus." Also people are guessing it could be Riven's sword, but we don't know. Either Aatrox sword, Naafri dagger, or Riven sword. I personally lean towards a Darkin weapon though since Vlad seems more resistant of Leblanc'a plan. Also cool to know Tibbers contains that demon reference by Necrit video and I think Annie can control it/it protects her now, if I am correct.
One great easter Egg in The Promise teaser, is when Malzahar opens his eyes, the sound effect is from his in-game ability called Malefic Visions, which represent the visions Bel'Veth has been giving him for years. Malz is one of the oldest champions in the game and has always been called the Prophet of the Void. When Bel'Veth was announced, we finally found out who he was a prophet for. .Bel'Veth is the physical embodiment of the Void. She is the result of the Void consuming the coast city of Bel'Veth between Icathia and the Southern coast of Shurima. Not only did she consume the entire city and all of it's citizens, but a large portion of the ocean around it. It's why that region of the Void feels like it's underwater and why she has such an aquatic physical form. Also, at the end when she opens up, that's her true form. Her humanoid head is just a fake. Similar to the lure of an Anglerfish. When you guys said she's like an alien you weren't far off. Think of her (and the watchers for that matter) like the Old Eldritch gods of the Cthulu mythos. They are literally beings from another dimension beyond the scope of human (and even some celetials') capacity to fully comprehend. It's one of the reasons prolonged exposure to the Void and it's creatures drives almost everyone who experiences it literally insane. She represents something of a Civil War within the Void. The Watchers want to destroy reality to go back to sleep. But Bel'Veth and the Void itself wants to remake reality into an extension of the Void after consuming some of it and having it's hunger awakened. Vel'Koz was sent by the Watchers to observe and collect information on the reality of Runeterra. While he's intelligent, he's still just a minion slaved to the Watchers. Which is what Bel'Veth said to him. For Annie, the blonde woman was her step-mother. Her mother was a witch from Noxus. She made Tibbers (the teddy bear) while still pregnant with Annie. She disappeared (possibly died) right after Annie was born while gathering water for the fever sickness Annie and her husband had. Tibbers is the only thing Annie has from her real mother, and it was the final gift from her. It's why she gets crazy when people mess with Tibbers.
CAN'T MESS WITH THE GODGOT! Another one of my favorite champions in League, Urgot. Crabgot. Godgot. Pajama Guardiangot 🤣 Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Annie's cinematic was longer because this video was towards her rework. So they were doing a promo for her during that time
