Australian MP criticises jail sentence given to former army lawyer David McBride

The former army lawyer, David McBride, was sentenced to five years and eight months in jail for taking classified defence documents on the Afghanistan war and passing them on to journalists. Independent MP Andrew Wilkie says governments ‘hate people shining a light on official misconduct’.
