This is a great idea using bearing/wheel assemblies for the base a point of rotation. Outstanding. To me this would have been the hardest part to acquire a pedestal base from a supplier for a reasonable cost.
Thank you, we have a few update vids on this build using a very basic DIY Remote Control operation setup that anyone can build which might interest you. Manual turning for us got very tedious.
This video was exactly what I was looking for. You built with used items from around the farm. Instead of a motor, I want to use weights for the energy, similar to what is used in a grandfather clock
I am impressed with your creativity! Awesome. I haven't watch the videos after this one yet so without spoiling them, do you get a lot of wind there where you live? I live on a coast and that's the biggest challege I have doing any type of mount. Thanks.
This is just what I've been wanting to do with my solar panels but did not know where to begin. Thank you for sharing this! I do have a question, I live in an area that can get quite widy. Have you experienced any high winds and if so how did it hold up.
Hello and thanks for watching. We get high winds here also and it holds up OK up to about 50mph winds, on the rare occasion that we've had stronger than 50 I've tied it down with ropes as a precaution. So far it's gone through storm force 10 and is still going strong.
Looking for ideas stumbled on your project. Like it, although I wonder how about being able to take on a storm? In my area the wind can be pretty forceful.
Hi rick, we get bad winds here too. Anything above 50mph winds and we tie it down with rope and ratchet straps just in case. So far it's handled the worst that nature can throw at it.
Beautiful Build
Thank you, we recently upgraded this array to remote control rotation in the latest 2 videos on our channel. Thanks for watching.

Thank you.
Nice build. It's amazing how much more significant structure becomes after the first conception.
@@louf7178 thanks, very true.
I love seeing people thinking outside of the box AND pulling it off.
Nicely done
Thank you very very much 👍
A brilliant idea. I'm looking for exactly the same. I'll just swing it manually.

This is brilliant
Excellent video, thanks Micheal.
Thanks Damien. Merry Christmas, Happy New year and best wishes to you and all the family. May 2023 be a productive and successful year for all. 🎄
Thank you for this video. It’s so great to see your progress and fantastic skills in action. I said it before, but you’re an inspiration!
Thank you Catherine, glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you so much, yes we get a lot of wind here on the hillside which is both a benefit and nuisance at times 😉

I asked the same question above just now, glad I kept scrolling! I'm excited to get this project started!
Wud it b possible to know roughly the wooden top and bottom racks overall sizes?
Do you have the addition of the motor in video?
No not in this video, will have updates in future vids.
Too complicated for me. I only have one Solar Panel to charge my EcoFlow.
