    Hi, u say that it is better put a picture on the profile with children, but the agency (at least here, in Brazil) tell us to put a picture where we are alone. But awesome video. Fist time that I see the Host Mom/family side. 😊

      Oh, interesting. At least for us, I want to see want you with kids. Lots of kids. On lots of adventures/activities with kids. I would ignore the agency recommendation and put a picture with kids! 😉 That is my recommendation.

      My husband said I should add that if the photo is a professional photo, it would be fine for the primary photo, as long as there are many many other photos with children! 🤗

    I am planning to be a host mom. What should I look for in an Au pair ? How can I find a good match for my family?

    • @aupairhostmom
      @aupairhostmom  2 роки тому +1

      The biggest thing is to deicide what tasks you want a au pair to perform every day. So if they need to prepare meals and drive, you will want to look for these characterizes. I always look for candidates with childcare experience, ALONE, with similar ages to my children. Finally, I make sure we have a personality that will work together. Do a personality test on yourself and make sure it matches with the ones the candidates do.
      Good Luck! Cheers!

    so one person know the little bit English they can help person in the your interview

    • @aupairhostmom
      @aupairhostmom  2 роки тому

      NO! Your English needs to be strong enough that you have complete an interview in English by yourself. One exception to this is if you are having an interview with a family that speaks the same language as you and they do not expect you to know English.
      What you can do is have someone practice with you before your interview who knows English, that way you are more confident when you have your interview. Additionally, if you need to look up a few (no more than 3-5 words) on a translator during the interview app like google translator that is ok.
      But you need to be able to communicate and understand your family in English, as that is what will be expected when you are living with this family and caring for their children.

    Hi, I have a quick question. So I do have experience with taking care of children, but unfortunately, I never thought of taking pictures (I tend to forget that a lot), so I barely have one with a child in it. What should I do in this case, do you have an idea? I would appreciate your help, thanks in advance

      Good Question!! I am really bad about taking photos of myself too. I would just say to look back as far as you can and see any photos you have with children, doing activities (like outdoor, sports, art, etc) to show your interest, some family photos, or photos of where you grew up.
      You don't need a lot of photos, just enough to help families to see your personality, interests/hobbies, and that you love children.
      Good Luck! Cheers!
