Judging by the comments and thanks to How To Renovate A Chateau, Benoit has become a super star heart throb loved by women the world over!!!! Oh la la! Way to go Benoit!!!
I would love a “day with Benoit” episode!
I think Nathan was wonderful in these videos. Have not seen him for quite a while.
sshush don't tell Philip
@@teeannarizkallah calm down cowboy.
Merci ☺️
I love the interaction between Phillip and Benoit. Benoit gives as good as he gets! 😂
Hi Guys ! An explanation on the coin you found : there is this tradition (at least in France) where you toss a coin in a fresh pour of concrete, to wish luck to the building in construction (or renovation) ! Hope that you'll see this so you can put back anywhere a new coin, so the tradition is perpetuated :)
Exactly :) :) :) I saw them do it over in this chateau renovation video :) ua-cam.com/video/lUS1mTB8p38/v-deo.html - thank you for such wonderful and inspiring videos!
Benoit and Philipp should have their own side project channel, possibly with a weekly French lesson with Nathan, I miss those.
THOSE were my favs!
Don’t forget about Anna, she is talented and funny in her own right. I love how she always mockingly second guesses Phillip all the time.
@@Beachbum471 but that's what this channel is for. :D Anna is the star! :)
One of my favorite vlog episodes! SO gratifying to see the amazing stone mason's talent- and Benoit's, too! What gorgeous improvements you are making to the chateau. Congratulations and thank you for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful to be able to enjoy these fine craftsmen’s’ work.
The entrance hall looks fabulous. Benoit is the best!! The gate columns are exquisite-very classy. Great job
the stone mason: i gage it with my eyes, its easy.
phillip: finally someone with a good sense when it comes to measuring!
Benoit (and Nathan) are my fave “supporting cast members” 😂. I love the community you’ve built while renovating, I get so excited whenever there’s a new video up!
Benoit and Phillip were especially funny today🤣🤣
Benoit is like the hollywood special guest who makes a cameo here and there and the fans are here for him!!!
Sometimes coins are placed under the floor for good luck, maybe find a tiny little picture frame for it? Your home is looking lovely by the way ,I watch every weekend.
I love watching the stone carving - it's so satisfying and beautiful when finished
The precision is amazing. Craftsmen
Benoit is certified main character on this channel, man's amazing!
I am so happy you need Benoit, you two, because as skilled as you two are, you are also as funny as all get out, love it.
That mason made that stonework look SO easy - I wonder how long he'd been working at it to be that good with it. I'd have had to rebuild those columns half a dozen times to get even a vague approximation of what he did in one shot.
He probably started learning his trade between the ages of 14 or 16, depending on his age.
First Benoit and now those bricklayers. I get the feeling you guys live in a village full of handymen people wish they would have close by.
I love the boot room! That is such a convenient room in a house if you are lucky enough to have one! The gate area also looks fabulous!
The mason is amazing. I didn't think people like him existed anymore.
The stone carving is amazing we have sorta lost these trades here in the us as its mostly “modern construction” or they are very niche and expensive so its awesome to see they are alive and well there.
Something tells me THAT WAS NOT CHEAP !
Stunning, elegant entrance. Coat rack and place for shoes are a must. "Mud room".
The Ironhorse sounds like somebody’s being tortured. Benoit and Philipp playful verbal sparring is great. 🤣 It’s great seeing the progress. Phillips difficulty with measuring. I have the same problem, and I’m dyslexic. Last time I noticed we are all imperfect! Thank you
I've only just come across your channel in the last week or so and I have very much enjoyed it! Your carpenter has got the most delicious sense of humour and your mason is delightful as well as talented. I wish you all the best of luck with your lovely restoration and making of a family home.
Welcome aboard!
I was hooked from the get go!! I guarantee this will be your ‘go to’ channel every week. The content is cheeky, funny, friendly, informative, creative, artistic, homely, family orientated, entertaining with original content and fabulous discounts on an array of endorsed practical product etc ideas to try out. Oh and not forgetting insightful parenting skills as well with their two beautiful young daughters. And of course you will quickly become a fan of Ziggy their family pet dog, Benoît their carpenter who is fast becoming a bit of heart throb but is married (sigh) and of course gorgeous influencers Anna and Philipp owners of this beautiful chateau.
Welcome aboard 😊
Mary, from sunny, beautiful one day and perfect the next, Central Coast, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 😎🌞☀️
The stonemason did a beautiful job of the pillars. 🇦🇺
That boot room looks amazing and so handy to have. The stone masons are incredibly talented. It’s always enjoyable watching Philipp and Benoit banter back and forth. Ziggy is becoming quite the supervisor 😅😅😅Thanks for sharing 😍😘
The entrance hall is now a functional family entrance. Thanks to Benoit. I love to listen to the bantering between Benoit and Philip. 😂
"I judged it by eye, it's easy."
The stone mason is channeling some serious Phillip energy there lol
😂 yes!!! 15:19
It would have been hilarious if Benoît was there to hear those comments LOL 😂😂
One thing obvious Philip knows how to pick really good people to do the job. Yes Benoit is a lovely charming Frenchman as well.!😘It is extremely satisfying to watch men who take pride in doing a good job .👍just look at your subscribers soar!❤
To find such wonderful stone masons in the US would be difficult. Things here are often done with cheap materials and it looks it. Nothing beats authentic materials.
The stonemason is an artiste. Love the brick wall. Impressive entrance and it’s not even done.
Always enjoy your videos. Sad when they end. Benoit is such an enjoyable character. And Ziggy! Cannot get enough of Ziggy!
y'all are so funny....really brighten up my Sunday.....and the stone mason, ooooh la la.....not only did he do beautiful work but he was very easy on the eyes!
Love every episode with Benoit. Such great bromance between him and Philip. We want more Benoit!
I dearly love your videos. I don’t have a Chateau but I get some great ideas. I can scale them down to fit. I’m 71 years young and it gives me so much pleasure to see young people able to make their dreams come true. God Bless and have a great week.😊
The amount of pressure to not make a mistake on the columns must be immense! It made me nervous watching him carve into stone. 🤯
Thank you for a great start to my week. Jobs done, sat down with coffee and some chateau fun. I love the entrance hall - so useful with kids around. Leave a hook for Ziggy’s leads and a dark coloured towel for rubbing off the mud! Benoit should be a star in his own right - watch out Philipp.
Every detail! The changing room! Ah! The stone work! I love sundays
So adorable the relationship between Phillipe and Benoit
I agree the coat hooks look too close together. More like for a towel. Great video
Funny thing about the coin is that I'm pretty sure the Pethericks burried a coin in a similar manner in their cottage, if I'm not mistaken.
I had the same thought! And this one was also near a door, perhaps the same tradition.
Love the boot room, and Benoit and Phillip are a hoot together. Everything looks beautiful.
Watching master craftsmen work is very satisfying. Also, the mason was very patient with Phillip's questions, and Benoit has quite the sense of humor =P
So satisfying to watch a stonemason work his craft.
The stone masons skills are just truly incredible. What a skill.
bonsoir
j apprécie beaucoup votre travail de restauration de votre château et que vous fassiez travailler des artisans locaux, le style de votre maison est a la fois respectueux du XVIII eme siècle et design .Bravo et bon courage
Watching true artisans like Benoit and stone masons is fabulous.
The built-in cabinetry in the hall looks so good and will keep things neat. Benoit is a gem. The gates, columns and walls are stunning. xx
Actually the coin in the concrete is used to bring good luck. It is a tradition still used by some masons in the countryside where i lived in southern France.
Filmed and edited by Philipp even boring stone cutting and drilling of wrong screws is entertaining! Thank you for sharing, the parmesan/stone pillars look more than amazing!
Literally a 100 year old coin! Wow! And the stone work was SO satisfying! 😍
Your videos always find a way to amaze me 😊
It’s very exciting to watch the progress! Those men are so skilled. 👏🏼👏🏼
Really great video! I especially love when Benoiť comes for a visit.
I love it when Benoit comes to the chateau, he gives Philipp a run for his money.
Bravo to the superb work by Benoit and the stone mason. 💯💯💯
Merci beaucoup 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@benoitcompagnon5849 D’ou ríen Benoit. C'est un tel plaisir de vous voir jouer aussi bien travaux de menuiserie
All your improvements are awesome. You will really enjoy the bootroom! The gate structures are looking fabulous!!! 🤗❤️🎶⭐️💖🇨🇦🇫🇷
Benoit always does such a beautiful job on everything he does. The stone mason sure is gifted he does a great job also. God Bless, Kathy 🇺🇸
What a nice beautiful work with the stone. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Benoit is someone out of this world 🥰👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍
Wonderful vlog. Love seeing Benoit and seeing the progress by the stone masons.
The stone mason reminds me of Bill Murray. And his chiseling was mesmerizing!
Everything's looking great!
I am in awe of the precision and skill of the stone mason -- he made carving the pillar decorations look like he was carving butter!
Phillipp, you are a very good sport.
The boot room is far more functional now while still being attractive. Its nice to see the gates being completed. They are like the gift wrap on a present building the anticipation for what is inside.
I love Benoit 🎉 he and Phillip are a great comedy duo!
Merci pour tous les deux 🙏🙏🙏
Love seeing expert craftsmen at work. I always learn so much. The gates are beautiful and are going to look like they have always been there. And Benoit - as always, equally skilled at cabinetry, humor and charm!
Wonderful vlog….as always very entertaining and you learn a lot too….as for Benoit….what can I say, he’s definitely found a fan club !!
bonjour, dans le temps très lointain :) ils mettais une pièce dans les sols , poutres ou autre endroits par superstition, ça porte bonheur. donc n'hésitez pas à faire pareil.😉
The craftmaship of both Benoît and the maçon is incredible. Tout un art! C'est un vrai régal pour les yeux !
The Gateway is so sympathetic to the Chateau! And the coat rack is a triumph too! 🥳
I am fairly proficient at a lot of this, watching the mason was brilliant. The air hammer control was brilliant, combining old skills new tools 🧰
Nice recovery on the dry rot. Lots to look forwards to in 2023.
My face at the sound of the 'Iron horse' 😖 Looks lovely tho!!
I could watch Benoit and Phillip interact all day! Love it!
Thoroughly enjoyed that guys......LOVE watching the stone mason at work...superb! Air compressor.....amazing. and not forgetting Benoit...he is a joy with Phillip...Sandi x
Love the mud room panel, storage and seating area. You will use that build-in everyday when you have children and to drop things off from coming outside. Just perfect. So enjoy the dry humor banter. And Ziggy, putting in his cameo.😂 Neat find w that old coin. You should mount in a frame for show.🫶🏻
Looking beautiful!! Loved watching the stone carvers do their job! And Benoit!!
The mud room looks fabulous. Wish I had one. Benoit is always a great addition to your videos.
Wow beautiful work by the stonemason. Benoit is always such fun 🤩 girl crush over here.
He is married !! (big sigh) 15:19
@@maryacton6046 actually it’s good to know that really all the good ones are taken. I do enjoy the banter with he and Phillip.
Watching the stone mason was amazing! He made that stone look like clay. 😮
Can’t wait to see the finished gateway…
Love Benoit!!!
Merci beaucoup moi aussi 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Love Benoit. Phillipe and Benoit have such fun teasing each other. Thanks for the update. I love your new entry.
Merci 🤩🙏🙏🙏
I wish I could one day visit you
Love watching craftsmen do their thing. Your gates are going to be magnificent. Thanks for sharing. 😀
I love the corridor/mud room entrance.
Wow he is good carving out the stone. Excellent! I love Benoit and his work is perfection!!! So much fun how he spars with Phillip ... All the best to you all.
Merci beaucoup pour vos compliments 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
So nice and I absolutely love the longer show of ' Carving in the Stone' it was amazing and my mouth stood open for the whole time. Thank You 🏝🐕
Love the gates and love the boot room storage! Benoit does beautiful work! And the stonemason’s work! 🤩❤️
Your stonemasons are doing a lovely job. Wonderful to watch artisans at work and reminds us of how amazing the craftsmen of the past were, before any electric tools to help. And Benoit - how lucky you are to have found such a good carpenter. Much like the stonemason, signing his work, I'm guessing Benoit is enjoying being such an intrinsic part of restoring the heritage of his homeland.
It amazing how they do the stone and get it to look so perfect. I certainly would never be able to do it! The brick work also is lookout so good!! Looking forward to seeing the gates go on!!
Those gate posts are fabulous. A truly grand entrance to your beautiful home. X
This was a delightful episode. Perfectly balanced with amazing craftsmanship and hilarious Benoit/Phillip banter ☺️ perfect!
Fascinating and hilarious as usual.
It is soo good to see Benoit! I love his humor too. ♥
Merci beaucoup 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
What a beautiful job to work stone like that, I'm impressed
Ancora non finiscono di stupirmi la straordinaria accuratezza e il buon gusto con cui pensate, realizzate e/o fate realizzare ogni cosa! Bravissimi!!
Obsessed with you all! We moved to Germany and would love to visit you one day 🥰
The professionals make it all look so easy to create beautiful finish. Your personalities make your channel a hit!
Your entrance and gateway are looking incredible already!
I absolutely love the banter beween Philipp and Benoit! All good-natured fun. 😆
Love Jacqueline from New Zealand 💐
The stone carving is amazing. I’ve never seen it done before.
I would love to have Benoit for a week to do all my Jobs that’s piling up 😂 love the banter between him and Phillip and loving the gate posts ❤
02:20 If I understood rightly from the work which Les Jeromes have been doing, cement is a huge issue in creating rotting wood and crumbling stone.
Sandstone and lime mortar seem to be the way to go.
Really nice. My understanding of conversational French is getting better too!
Enjoyed this episode especially seeing the progress and workmanship on the gate but the episode was too short!
