    I have both. My mr buddy hasn't failed me in several yrs. I started bump up my preps and baught the Ozark brand today which is 2023 Xmas eve. I haven't tried it out yet but for the money i had to get it. Its just a matter of time when the lifhts go out and we can't depend on the government to help us in anyway. I truly believe they just don't care about us anymore. And hello from west Kentucky and merry Christmas and may God shine his ever lasting light on you and your family now and forever amen

    I got the 18000btu buddy heater, 20lb tank with adapter hose and that little fan. It's great. I can set it at 4500, 9000 and 18000btu. It's great. Used it to heat my garage when I was working on my truck. It couldn't heat the garage properly as the door was open and the truck just nosed in. (My garage isn't big enough) but it helped keep the winter chill away while I was working all day.

      It doesn’t have a CO sensor but a low oxygen and tip over sensor. When it shuts off cause of one of those two things, CO is released for a short timeframe. (IN MY TESTING) CO can give you a headache but I bet lack of Oxygen will to. Glad you’re alright.

    You don't have to set the heat at high or low, you can lower the propane flow with the knob to right before it starts to sputter and that will increase your burn time and put out less heat as on full power, it can get pretty warm.

  • @orionoutdoorsandworkshop5617
    @orionoutdoorsandworkshop5617 Місяць тому +1

    without using any fancy testing gear i have and use both of these. in my opinion i notice no difference. as far as fumes in an enclosed area, i have used these in my deer blinds for years and i have a tiny box camper, less than 6x8, they both work fine and i aint dead yet. usually, products dont make false claims due to the fear of being sued.
    (fact is these may be made by the same company and sold under different names with minor differences, it happens all the time)
    auto gas mileage is calculated for a fairly accurate measurement, at a certain MPH. and gearing. meaning if you increase your speed or drive in a lower gear you will consume more fuel, where the threshold is where the gas mileage drops off dramatically is probably known as well. what im saying is, of course the fuel consumption between 9 and 10 thou BTU is going to be different, and my guess is naturally the 10 is going to consume more than the 9.
    my experience is i have just as many problems dealing with fuel issues with both units, neither is a better product. i will not promote buddy until they get the issues of the heater going out because of bad fuel. they are aware of this still they do not improve their design. they would rather force the customer to buy the little 1lb at sky high prices.
    im not a salesman and im not doing reviews for any kind of credit. i wont especially in a case like this where my life does not depend on having the best money can buy, i usually go for what i perceive to be the better deal and what i need it for. if you stake your life on it something better than a buddy can be had.

      @AdventureswithSpackmann the buddy claims 4k btu output on low. Ozark claims 5,500 btu on low. Buddy should win burn time on that setting, too but the margin would be interesting.

      @AdventureswithSpackmann  11 місяців тому

      @AdventureswithSpackmann the difference on the same settings isn't enough between the two but the big one on high and the smaller on low, the smaller should be more effective at using more of the fuel in a bottle before getting too low to operate due to vapor pressure vs consumption rate.
      Example: My LPG generator won't run at all on a 20 lb tank in even cool weather and even a 100lb can be too small in really cold weather.
