She had Mirimah, who was the Sultan's only daughter. Mirimah was the most powerful woman in the dynasty, and she stood up for her mom after Valide passed away. Just an FYI, Hurrem's sons did stand up for her, especially when people were being disrespectful towards her in and outside of the palace.

I think people dislike Mustafa because of his mother. Mahidevran believes she innocent, she believes Hurrem is a snake when she's actually the one who created this problem. Had Mahidevran played by the rules of the Harem instead of showing how jealous she was Hurrem would've never raised to such power. Mahidevran gave Hurrem the ammunition and Hurrem to the gun and ran with it. Mahidevran raised her son well but she included him in her pain way too much, children should never have to carry the weight of their mothers pain the way Mustafa has.

None of the characters were good hearted, just neutral like suleyman, gulfem, mustafa and the other children. All the others were evil, hurrem seemed to be the alone because she was able to stand up for herself and what she wanted while mahidevran and the others only wished.

None of the characters were good hearted, just neutral like suleyman, gulfem, mustafa and the other children. All the others were evil, hurrem seemed to be the alone because she was able to stand up for herself and what she wanted while mahidevran and the others only wished.

Hurrem had infiltrated the concubine with the specific purpose of eventually killing him. Mahidevran poisoned Mehmet much later because Suleyman began to show favouritism towards him. Hurrem wanted to kill Mustafa before Mahidevran killed Mehmet. Mahidevran had actually saved Mehmet as a baby.

@@trantis901 Eeeeehhhhhh. Suleiman tortured Mahidevran. Even without Hurrem, there would have just been another woman for Mahidevran to have to handle. And, from how we see in the show, she handled such things very *poorly*. Beating a concubine near to death and sending poison to a sutlan's table are both really bad moves.

History is a different story, but in the series Bayezid wanted to kill his brother, Mihrimah plotted against Selim, also Mihrimah was so arrogant and ungrateful oftentimes and helped to kill her husband, they didn't treat Cihangir as their equal, Selim had an alcohol problem, I mean c'mon, does it look like a happy family of humble and good-mannered people? (Once again, I'm not talking about real Mihrimah and her siblings (though Bayezid really was against his brother and Selim did indulge in wine), but we also can't say (or know) that real Mustafa was rude. And based on the series, he was a kind-hearted person, who deeply cared for his parents and siblings)
