I know how that sort of thing goes. One of the first things I did upon deciding to join the Church was send an email to a raised-Catholic friend whom I'd talked to over the years, apologizing for some stuff I'd said and announcing the good news. I didn't get a reply and I found out a little later that he was planning to become a Protestant pastor (he's changed his denominational track once so far). We're good friends now, better than ever before, but please pray for him to come back to the Church
I tie Rev 1:20 to the 7 branches of the menorah being the 7 churches, but with the fire being the holy spirit... I can understand your analogy. Thanks for putting these speeches online! Lot to think about. Peace
I looked up the meaning of the Hebrew word "back" in Ex.33:23 - אָחוֹר ʼâchôwr, aw-khore'; or (shortened) אָחֹר ʼâchôr ; from the hinder part; hence (adverb) behind, backward; also (as facing north) the West:-after(-ward), back (part, -side, -ward), hereafter, (be-) hind(-er part), time to come, without. This tells me that if we really look, we can see where God has been! Then we can sometimes envision what comes after, and even understand there is a "hereafter"! So God is really saying a lot by His actions.
So many easier ways to make money, and even within religion if he was a crook he'd have been a prosperity preaching televangelist. Getting a PhD in theology isn't exactly wall street 😂
