All Catholics should listen to or read his conversion story. My sister - baptized Catholic but not raised Catholic - is discerning coming into THE Church. Following a pilgrimage with a Catholic group, including our pastor, she was on the team. When we returned home, I sat her down to watch Dr. Bergsma's Top Three Reasons for becoming Catholic, and that spiked the ball in the endzone.

@@user-sd8vy1yb4r yes I realize. I also realize that for every catholic convert, they convert to unity. For those leaving they spread out to a
1000 different ideas. Unity is everything.

Thank you. As a Catholic I finally know the history and meaning of apostolic succession and the role of the priest. Thank you. And, I also greatly appreciate Dr. Bergsma's sense of humor. I am one of those relics. Lol.

In the liturgical text of the ordination of Reader, the bishop laying his hands and pray: may you be made worthy to be a reader which is the first step of/in priesthood. Notice the language associates even minor order as part of the one priesthood of Christ in the order of Melchizedek. The difference with presbyterate is that lectorate is the first step into priesthood. While episcopacy is the fullness of priesthood.

I have to mention this and that is I hope that if any Catholics have doubts or misunderstanding about the Eucharist being the true BODY OF JESUS CHRIST then I really would want them to try and understand that before Jesus had instituted the Eucharist he celebrated the Passover sacrificial meal ie,so having said that please focus on the words sacrificial meal as it was taught to the Jews.So now Jesus is fulfilling the Passover sacrificial meal with the Eucharist which is the true sacrificial meal that the Passover sacrificial meal was representing. So notice to that Jesus Christ institutes the Eucharist before he goes to his bitterest agonizing excruciating merciless tortures and death,so it seems to me that the Eucharist is a sacrificial meal to help feed the flock in the Catholic Church to be helped by our lord’s body and blood to learn and understand how to defeat all kinds of evils and sins that we Catholic’s have face in our every day situations. But please try to understand that though we Catholic’s receive our Lord and God Jesus in Holy Communion it doesn’t mean that our Lord Jesus Christ will make it easy for us to over come all sins and evils we have our part to work out salvation as it is taught for our lord went through it himself in his human body?

Why do u call the apostles priests when the passage u read from Peter clearly shows that he was a pastor or presbyter? Is a priest the same as a presbyter?

Someone asks to show where the Apostles were ordained as priests?
So obvious! They were ordained when the Holy Spirit came down upon them in the form of 'Tongues of Fire' and the Wind of the Holy Spirit allowed them to speak in other languages as the Spirit gave them utterance. Amen.

Very very intriguing of what is spoken about the priesthood of the Old Testament and king David who was a king, now what is mysterious about what is said about king David and the priesthood is that when Jesus was presented to Pilate to be judged,Pilate ask Jesus if he is the or a king of the Jews and Jesus responded to Pilate saying you are saying that I’m a king or has it been told to you that I am a king.Listen to what Jesus is saying to Pilate, because Jesus never says to Pilate that I am a king or the king of the Jews. Why because Jesus Christ is God the Son he’s more than a king, but it seems so obvious that the Jews was looking for a king to save and lead them here on earth and misunderstood who and what the Christ of God the Father was sent for to teach and accomplish for the Jews,if this sounds difficult I’m sorry but that’s how I seem to understand it.I’m not saying that I’m right but it’s just a thought that came to me when I was listening to this excellent profound presentation of this video

Jer 33:17-18 also prophesied that God will make levitical priests continue offering sacrifice together with kingship of Davidic line. With the destruction of Jerusalem Temple in c. 70AD, levitical priests of Judaism can no longer offer sacrifice. That verse must refer to New Covenant levitical priests who continue making present of the same sacrifice Christ made on the cross in every Mass.

@@justfromcatholic Sacrifice of the Holy Eucharist.
The Jerusalem temple was never intrinsically necessary for sacrifices (see patriarchs, melchizidek, tabernacle, etc...), it was a temporary ordinance until new sacrifices would take place as part of the definitive temple: Christ's body.
There are descendants of Levi who became New Covenant ordained priests and offer this sacrifice on altars around the world every day.
