That verse about the bride seeking “Him whom my heart loves” and not finding Him …. This was echoing in my head during the pandemic, when the churches were closed. Pretty quickly, the parishes in my area all found creative solutions for parishioners longing for Jesus. We had Adoration in windows, behind glass doors, in open air “chapels,” where I would encounter my brothers and sisters in Christ kneeling on cement, sitting on folding chairs in the wind and rain, or leaning on the church wall, alone, singing hymns to our Lord. It was a beautiful time for those who really sought Him. God bless our priests who went above and beyond to make Jesus available to us in any way they could think of. They did a fantastic job organizing outdoor Masses on the school playground under tottering canopies, with so many parishioners pitching in to lend a hand. I think that we were truly blessed to go through that trial together, with the joy that comes from finding at last, “Him whom my heart loves.”
I’ve known now three of your students Doctor. They say you’re their favorite! I see why. I just read Songs a month ago... I’m off to read it again. I loved the Mary Magdalene bit, how she holds onto the lover! Pray for us Mary Mags!
A DEEP LOVE for GOD is by far our greatest weapon against the enemy. "He who loves ME obeys ME. There's great wisdom in OBEDIENCE which leads to success which leads to the TRIUMPH of HIS CAUSE!
If by obsevation we puny humans can influence the behavior of an atom, how much MORE can GOD influence our REALITY! Thy will be done on 🌎 as it is in Heaven!!!
In 5:9 it is not the maidens who speak, but the watchmen that intercepted her flight to find her lover and abused her. She is clutching her torn robe saying this, but answers and addresses her response to the maidens in the crowd. In the same manner Jesus answers the crowd when John's disciples come to ask him if he is the one who was to come. In the beginning of the song, you see that she is made to wear a veil because of the disgrace, but that too will change.
West Virginia is the belly button of the us. After the umbilical chord is clipped, it’s of no use. Those aren’t my words, I’m just looking for a better analogy than what this guy can offer!
+ Praised be Jesus Christ and Mary Now and forever. Amen. Dr. Bergsman better use the Original Roman Catholic Holy Bible Douay-Rheims Version. (Traditional not novus ordo). So you are talking about The Canticle of Canticles. The Church always refers this to the Blessed Virgin Mary. I don't like you making fun of it. I think that is a disrespect to Our Lord and Lady if not committing a sacrilege of which you are not aware of it. I hope you begin your conference with a Sign of the Cross + any prayer you prefer (Hail Mary is best). In Jesu et Maria.
I hope you watched this past the couple of opening jokes about pick up lines. If not you have highly missed out and hope you will reconsider. God bless you!
Simply STUNNING. I have listened 5 times to it. I am AWED.
Yes! I was just thinking I need to listen to this several times.
