"South of Heaven" from Slayer's "South of Heaven" album (1988).
More Slayer! Once again, I used the official isolated bass track to transcribe this one. Well, not entirely true. During the verses, Tom actually played an open D# and that's it. He didn't follow the guitars or anything, nope. Just open D# the entire time. So I decided to at least play the guitar riff. Anyway, the rest of the song should be pretty straightforward.
Some important information that nobody is going to read.
Tuning: D#-G#-C#-F#
Artist: Slayer
Bassist: Tom Araya
Album: South of Heaven (1988)
Song: SOUTH OF HEAVEN
Bass: Warwick GPS Corvette 5A Ash
FUCKING SLAYER 🤘🏼!!!!
Can’t go wrong with SLAYER you rock, Leo
Thanks as always!
Great work dude! You should check out "The Acid Lakes of Ganymede" by Parius. It's got some wicked bass.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Wow, so this is what bass on a Slayer track would sound like with super clean playing and powerful tone. No offense to Tom, but listening to those old Slayer albums, it is pretty clear that his bass playing and recording were not very high priorities. Sadly, bass guitar being neglected is a very common issue for Thrash Metal in general. 😏 Excellent playing and great tone as always, Leo! More videos of Slayer songs, and Trash Metal songs in general, would be awesome!
Thank you so much! Yeah I would actually consider listening to Slayer if the mix was a lot better. I read that Tom wasn't even responsible for the bass track on the earlier albums...
Awesome Cover
Thank you!

Невероятно технически сложная песня.
