- In today's video I'm going over how to remove the headliner in a 2020 Chevy Silverado. We had to drop the headliner to fix dents on the roof. I hope you found the video helpful.

Wanted to extend a thank you for the video. I installed a dash cam in my brand new 2023 2500HD and wanted to remove the overhead console to route the wiring. I didn't need to remove the entire headliner but when prying on a new vehicle info like you provided is a huge help.
You're welcome. I'm glad the video was of help to you. There's been many times I'm pulling on an overhead console and the thing won't budge. Not fun when you think you're going to break a bunch of clips!
Thanks for the video. I have to fix a leaky shark fin tonight, and this sped up the process quite a bit.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
I was looking to remove the wiring harness?
Thanks for the video. Noticed on my 2021 double cab that the cover over the seat belt has airbags on the top. How difficult is it to work with that as I would like to sound deaden my roof.
No problem! Usually there are bolts to lower the harness that holds the air bag in place.
Thank you. Exactly what I needed.
Awesome channel bro. New subscriber here. 👊🏼👍🏻
I appreciate that! Thanks for tuning in and leaving a comment.
Thank you very much really appreciate the video
You're welcome! Glad it helped you out.
How long do you think this would take a Chevy dealer to do versus doing it yourself?
20 mins max yourself
What size torque bit for the two screws holding in the overhead console?
It’s usually a T20 or T25.
I used a t10.@@goatsinapond
Thank you for the video. I'm planning a soundproofing project to add Dynomat to the ceiling. Is it possible to remove the headliner from the cab without damaging it?
You're welcome. Thanks for checking it out. It is possible to remove the headliner. From what I've seen, people take out the passenger seat and then finagle the headliner out. Check out some videos of people doing "starlight headliners" in their Silverados. They talk about taking the seat out. Good luck with your project!
What’s the trick to get the visor clips to release? I removed the screw in mine but it doesn’t feel like the clip wants to come out.
The Chevy visor clips can be a pain. I stick my pick tool in the holes I showed around 1:25 and squeeze them together. If you pull down on the headliner after having the front part of the headliner loosened (free from the pillars) while depressing the clips inside those holes, it will come loose with some persuasion.
It’s always nice to keep things factory but if one of those tabs break it’s not a huge deal, it’s not going to sag considering it has three screws holding it up there. Overkill in my book to have that tab that’s a pita to release.
