Man, what a great teacher. Clear, concise and exactly what's on the original song. I love songs like this that you can learn in a day, especially with a tutorial this good.
Real nice, just talking with a mate about this song.. great job, nice to have the tab with your instruction. You have a great teaching manor and also repertoire. Thx.
They only have one guitar player in the band. But great tutorial mate. Love the sound of your tele for this track. Generally Brian plays something like an 335 or a casino I can't remember
@@LetsPlayAll I hear you say overdub as a big SSPU fan I'm pretty sure there actually isn't much of that if any. I've watched him absolutely go insane live and it didn't look like there was any backing track for any sections (maybe I'm mistaken what you mean by overdub) but it's just Brian alone killing it mate
Good point :-) I've started putting more of this detail in my lessons but for this one you just need a Humbucker and an overdrive pedal tbh, that'll get you there!
@@LetsPlayAll overdrive is for the louder chorus parts right? I more so want to know how to get that specific sound from the tone in the beginning riffs👀
@@ghostaga it’s just a clean tone on the very edge of breakup so a humbucker in the bridge, not too trebly an eq, but when you play harder it should break up (distort) ever so slightly 🤘
@@lukeskoza6476 you can ask any detailed questions over at Patreon for sure, but for this track you just need a cleanish tone, just on the edge of breakup (bridge humbucker woth eq set with not too much treble) so when you play harder it distorts a bit more. The lead parts sound like a fuzz pedal, big muff or similar would get you there. Hope that helps!
I tried to learn this just after I first picked up a guitar and was baffled. Came back 8 years later and seems super simple now. Thanks!
Awesome! Glad it helped!
this song is probably the easiest song that actually sounds good

Could you do one on the song Substitution by Silversun Pickups?
Only taking requests over at Patreon at the moment mate Patreon.com/letsplayall
Hey how do we get the actual tone from the guitar on the track? Like the sound of it, pickup, amp settings, etc.

Can I play same way on acoustic guitar?
Sure why not! :-)
Sorry if this is a dumb question but what’s the tuning?
Standard tuning :-)
Hello! What are settings for the amp?
oo can't remember tbh mate but I always set my amp up the same way, pretty neutral eq and just on the edge of breakup
What effect are you using?
just clean amp mate
what tune this is on
Std
standard tuning?
Yup, I’ll always say at the beginning if it’s an alt tuning 🤘
Thanks, Louis C.K.!
What’s the tuning
Std tuning mate
Wow I have been playing this song wrong this whole time. Doing a hammer on instead of bending the string
As long as you’re enjoying playing it I don’t think it matters too much, but glad you found the lesson useful! Great tune 🤘😊
Should pick out an R.E.M. song to show us.
Good shout, funnily enough i'll be doing lessons from this vid coming up ua-cam.com/video/UyZmbmU3I0E/v-deo.html ;-)
I can’t read music lol
just check the tab and my direction and that should get you there mate!
Excellent tutorial. Thanks!
