Looks like it runs good, about like a stock 044 if I had to guess without being there. Which is pretty good since dead oak sucks to cut. All my 044’s lived with 36” bars, course we were cutting mid size green pine, fir and cedar. 👍🏼👍🏼
No sir a stock 044 would not pull 36 in that wood
Sure it would if you left the rakers stock height. I bought 6 of them brand new and probably had 10,000 hrs behind them. While almost all was in green pine, fir, I still cut something like 30 cords of oak with them. Just not with the same chain. Mind you, it was all with square ground but still. It’s not like that saw was going to town on that log. But like I said, I wasn’t there so 🤷🏽♂️👍🏼
@@dgoodman1484 I’m a saw builder so I’ve never encountered an 044 that was more powerful than a 268. Fir is soft shit. Put an 044 in oak with a 36” and see what happens then do the same thing with a husky equivalent and the husky gonna whip that ass
Well you may want to look up the factory stated hp ratings if you don’t believe me. An 044 was rated at a full hp more which is over a 20% gain and the have a displaced advantage so 🤷🏽♂️
@@dgoodman1484 an ms400c also has more hp than a 562xp but still got its ass handed to it by the husky test after test
what carb tune do you have on it ? im asking bc i have one myself and its not running right. great video btw.
