🚨NEW FREE WORKSHOP FOR 2022🚨 Learn how to create a PROFITABLE handmade business online without keeping up with social media 🔽 Watch the free workshop here: bit.ly/3uWPoYj
Great video! I think the best tip was “just start” honestly from there on it can only get easier right? I have a soap business and struggle with how to make videos of soap being used, obviously a shower isn’t an option haha but how many hand washing videos can one make? Happy Holidays Mei :)
Definitely second the ASMR videos, love those cutting soap videos, videos of the packaging etc. Soap is such a pretty product, close-ups of your hands holding the bar, moving it so people can see the lovely textures and colours. Some of my first videos are hideous, lol, but we gotta start somewhere. 👍
Hey Mei, I believe you should add more video content by featuring your coaches, it is good for a change and can show the value of your coaches!! I watched for the last month all your videos since 7 years ago, it is amazing how hard you are working on yourself and how the video quality, thumbnails, content are continuously improving. (I even made a 100 pages word documents out of them, so much content and so valuable information). Hopefully soon enough I will register in the ASAD program but I believe if you feature more of your coaches, it can also encourage people to join the Accelerator program (it is like a perfume tester, if you like it you are encouraged to buy the perfume!!)
Hi Charbel! Thanks for the suggestion! I love that you're really wanting to know my coaches a little more. You can know a bit more about the Accelerator coaches and their specialties here: bit.ly/3Ljlsvh They're really amazing coaches!! Hope to see you inside the program soon!! ❤️❤️
Hi Mei and Louisa! You have just saved my sanity! Thank you sooo much for this post! Louisa, you are charming and have given me the courage to start with videos! Bravo to both of you- Mei, I love you!
Hiya, what a great video for someone, me, just getting into sales. Well, I need to sort the new toys, tools, and stock up on the finished products. This video spoke to me in-depth, make videos of 'Doing' how easy a concept, let us see about the actual making, shall we? I am going slow, I'm disabled and have other problems so nothing rushed, but still being done though. Thank you for your help, stay safe, Steve...
Thank you Steve, I really appreciate your comment.👍 People love to buy products from people. They love the face and story behind the brand. That is what is so great about quick videos on social media, Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, they can look raw and authentic, no need for huge amounts of editing. They really help to build the connection with the person viewing the video. Take your time, don't put extra pressure on yourself.
Hi Louisa! I think packing and BTS videos are an easy place to start because I don't have to show my face! (I'm not the one to show face online anywhere, as you know!)
Yes!! A great place to start! And simple packaging and BTS videos are sooo watchable. Also unboxing videos - you can do yourself. Video your hands opening the mailing box as though you were the customer to show them what to expect from a purchase with you. Thanks for your comment! 👍
I like start now don't wait or think about it. I am still looking at the first lessons for when I signed up. I wantvto make sure I'm learning the right things.
I Love Tip 5, or 6 Because Of Particular Issues, But, All Of The Tips Sound Good, However, Not Because Procrastination, But, I Just Have Alot On My Plate. And Other Things Taking Place, Sooh, WE Will See. Thankyou For Understanding. Miss CoCo
Take it easy, you have to do what works well for you and your business. ☀ Just slowly add it to your schedule when you can if time allows. The main thing is not to stress about it and feel like you HAVE to do it. Just be natural and relaxed and try it when you are ready.
Hi Mei❤️ I literally love your speech, your videos which inspires people like me. And I also attended your free webinar . Girl everything you said is absolutely great and is exactly a reality. And more wanna say you are so cute🤩This small town girl became a fan of your Advices Love You 3000🧡❤️💜
I don't see why the makers needs to personally appear on camera, though. I follow lots of shops that just video and photo their products and behind the scenes with just their hands and use text in video to communicate. It adds a bit of mystery, but also let's me focus on the product and the branding of the items instead of the the branding be the artist's "fame" and personality, like an artist youtuber does.
People do really like to connect with the maker and see who it is that is making the products. Think about like, Joanna Gaines, and how much of the Magnolia brand is her and what she shares. That inside look makes her relateable, and people get more invested.
Sure, showing the artists face is not for every brand. Some customers like to feel the connection with the maker or artist and see the person behind the product, whereas others are just looking at the product. Just do what you feel works best for your brand, testing and seeing how your customers/ followers react.
This is a great one! Thank you Mei and Louisa. This is so informative and like all of your videos, it's just the right length and to the point. 😊 I'm so appreciative of the wisdom you put out for all of us to benefit from. 🙏 thank you.
Hello, I just ran across your video, and I found it extremely helpful, thank you so much! I am getting my products together to start my business and listening to Louisa helped me a lot. Happy Holidays! 🎄🎄🎄🌟🌟💗I liked all her tips, but my best is: Brainstorm a list of all the possible things I can talk about on camera🌟
I’ve watched myself talk on camera and I want to die of embarrassment, I feel like ‘that’s not my voice, why does my face move like that, I hate my weird squinty mouth and my eyes look like stick on googly eyes and my posture is bad and….I don’t want to do videos!’ 😝😝😝 I’ve already thought of how to do videos without being face on, so I thought I’d make a video of my hands doing, or side views and add narration over it later. Thanks for these suggestions 😍
I'm glad this was helpful to you! It is definitely not fun when you start to watch yourself, but after awhile, you do definitely get used to your "video" persona.
Glad these tips were of help! When I watched the video back, I realised I need to be more animated. Mei is such a joy to watch on video! 🙌🌸 Videos without your face in them are still a win and just as interesting! 🥰 Do what works best for you.
Yeah but being a woman and creating jewelry is the easiest road to success in the handmade world. I'm a man who makes home decor and my face doesn't help nor my ugly rented flat 😂
Hi Greg! You can absolutely do it! ❤️💯 The handmade world is definitely not just for women. There are lots of men who are doing really well in the handmade world too. You have great products and I know you can do it!! ❤️ You don't have to show your face or your flat if you're not comfortable doing so. Finding a well-lit area of your flat (or even outdoors) is just as enough. You got this!! 💪

Yes! And honestly, the more you do it, the more you will get used to it. How about mixing videos, pouring videos, cutting videos (very ASMR!)

Not rushing is good, Steve, because it makes sure you can't do anything too rashly, and in business that can definitely be helpful!

Thank you so much Patsy! It sure does help to have that list handy, so we can just do it without too much thought. 👍
