    I was definitely the garage sale shop, all over the place and not selling a thing. I was jumping on 'the next popular things'. I'm subscribed to an artist advice newsletter and it was from their email that I finally realized that I needed to focus on ONE type of art.

    YES! Your positioning is EXACTLY why I follow you. Everything else business related is either for online marketing which is hard to transfer that knowledge into handmade products, and the jewellery business advice I can find are for businesses looking to break the $100,000 mark when I haven't even made my first $1000 month yet! Plus, I work with polymer clay as well so that's a bonus ;)

    So pleased to have found you! I am entering a saturated market but I knew I wanted to have sophisticated branding and for my brand to feel more 'handcrafted' than 'homemade', like a lot of the competitors I find. I also wanted to charge slightly higher and to make a collection that feels more elegant than 'I just made this out of some cheap fabric I found'. Your information is perfect for me and you really see things how I feel like I kinda see, but can't articulate and put into practice! Thanks so much for your wonderful content :)

    • @CreativeHiveCo

      It's always tough to let go of some of those items that no longer belong! You are totally right though, you can always put them up on a marketplace site like ebay or etsy where branding is less important! And that doesn't mean you have to stop making those other things you love! Always carve out time in your day/week to make fun stuff too that has nothing to do with your business. It's self-care, and it's healthy! :)

    This was great and has some great tips. I am working on getting an online shop up and going, but I've done some craft shows. Most have been very successful and one was ok. My question is this, I make scarves in a variety of fabrics and that tend to be nerdy. RIght now i probably have 40-45 different fabrics. Patterns, different themes and nerddoms (Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc). Is that too many choices to have? As I sell my stock should I limit the fabric to less and just have more of those? THanks!

    • @CreativeHiveCo
      @CreativeHiveCo  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Amber, it depends on your target audience and how your products are selling. If you are selling most of the designs of fabric you have, then it's not working against you. If you are looking to streamline then you may want to have a select amount of fabrics, or perhaps do "special release" collections or rotating collections where once they're gone, they're gone. This would create excitement for new prints.

    Hi Mei ☺️ I have a quick question and I would appreciate it more than you will ever know if you could answer it. First of all, you have already helped me so so so much, so thank you. ❤️🙌
    I am launching my skincare line on Etsy in the next 1-2 months. I've been perfecting my formulations for many months now. Initially I will be listing 6 products and I will be adding products over time. I do have a full time job and the convenience of Etsy is very appealing to me right now.
    In order to start making sales, obtain reviews and try to recover the start up money I have spent, I'm thinking about temporarily listing my products at $10-15. My final product prices will be in the $25-30 range (I still have to apply your product pricing formula but this is what I'm guessing it will be around.)
    Do you think this "introductory price" is a good idea? I'm very very passionate about skincare and formulation and my products are really really good.
    Thank you so much. ❤️

    • @CreativeHiveCo
      @CreativeHiveCo  3 роки тому +1

      If you want to do this, I would make it for a very specific time, like the first two weeks, and then stick to it. You can use that as a marketing tool in your promotion, get it before the price increases. But I wouldn't do such a deep discount. Your $25 could go for $15-18, your $30 products $20-23. You don't want to have such a drastic price increase.

      Hi Shanjida! I'm so glad you like my videos! I love pebble art and I think people love them too. In some ways, being in a less competitive space means it's easier to stand out! I'd suggest still doing PR outreach for your products and if you do keyword based marketing like SEO or content marketing, then instead of targeting keywords like "pebble art", target instead words like "personalized family art", "personalized family minimal art" - broader and more general yet specific terms to possibly describe your products.

      You will need either a computer file and use that to have the logo printed on things, or you will need to have a physical stamp made.

    I really enjoyed your video. My question is if my prices are kind of low how do I suddenly make my prices higher without scaring my present customers and timers away. There was I time I raised my prices and made less sales. I struggle with what to do with pricing and what I create is hard work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you

      Hi Janet! That's a great question. I have a blog post written up here on how to raise prices while addressing your concerns/hesitations! www.creativehiveco.com/how-to-raise-your-prices/
      Do you remember what you increased your price to and from? Curious to hear your story!

    Hi Mei, I watch all you videos and I love all your great tips. It really motivated me to get my shopify website going. I have Instagram, Facebook and eBay. I get lot of traffic, some orders but not enough. I promote my shopify website, but no orders through shopify I really don't know what else to do. I'm definitely not giving up, I love to create, sell and gift.
