Easy Way To Create A Border Around Images In Pixelmator

A fast easy way to create a colored border around your images in Pixelmator. Note if you want a fancy border like with blurred lines and other custom shapes this isn’t the way. This creates just a simple colored border.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've used Pixelmator for several years but never learned this trick. Spent hours this morning trying to do it, then finally copied the photo over to an old Mac and did it in Word - neither of which can be updated any longer. It took two - count 'em! - two minutes to produce a better result in Pixelmator!

Many thanks for such a brief and successful step-through. Because I didn't know the many terms, e.g., that Stroke was an invitation to name a colour, I doubted I could understand and follow your instructions and was surprised and delighted that you pointed out each step.

I can't follow this tutorial at all, as my version of Pixelmator Pro looks totally different, doesn't have an "edit" button, nor an "apply" button and comes with zero instructions, other than sending me to the web, where random peeps blabber on and on about how easy this and that is. Which is ridiculous, as adding a border to an image, should be automatized in the first place. My borders continually don't adapt to the size of the image, and I end up with just two sides showing, despite centering the border. Nowhere is this addressed in this and other tutorials.
