- With this children's illustration, I wanted to try out the digital watercolor brush in ProCreate. The illustration was done for the September Third Thursday Challenge at SVSLearn (svslearn.com/).
This piece is also part of a "100 Kids" project that I have just started with the aim to explore different rendering styles and processes and improve my design skills - you can follow it on social media with the hashtag #100Kids.

Thanks for all the detail on your process and use of layer modes - really interesting! Love your final result!
Fantastic! And the points you bring up about procreate brushes and layers and techniques is extremely helpful. Thank yoU!
Simply, beautiful masterful work and a informative Procreate watercolor rendering tutorial. Thank you!
This is a beautiful illustration! I really enjoy painting on the IPad pro. I haven't tried the watercolor brush yet. But I can't wait to try it now!

Cant finding watercolor brush.. did you use flat brush?
Hi Simona! in this video you mention sketchup software...would you consider one day showing us a demo on how to use it as you did to help create believable objects and scenes ? I am just starting with this task and feel a bit lost at times! thank you ! awesome vintage vibe in this illustration !
Yes, that's a good idea!
You would do wonders with the Kyle T Webster brushes in Photoshop!! ;)
Thanks! I use them already, though I find them more difficult to control than the ProCreate brushes sometimes....
Very nice! Definitely have to save money for an iPad pro. Do you use the old or the newer one?
I have the old one - I am not a tech freak, I don't even know what's the difference with the new one ;-)
Simona Ceccarelli 120 Hz display. No lag. Smoothest drawing experience as far as i ve heard.
There is no perceptible lag with the old one either ;-)
Simona Ceccarelli good to know. Maybe i have to try a used old version first before spending so much money.
what iPad pro's 32gb storage is sufficient to art works?
Can you explain the 2 different ways you said to lighten please? Thanks.
Hi Paul! I mention the eraser set to the water brush (it is one of the brushes in the painting tab of ProCreate. You can set the eraser with the same brush settings as for brushes). The other way is to use a Color Dodge layer (you create a new layer and then set it to color dodge - to access layer modes in ProCreate you touch the small letter on the right side of the layer. On default layers the letter is set to N (Normal). The Color Dodge mode is indicated by Cd.
Is sketch up an app?
It's a web app - you use it from within a browser window.
