The one of a kind thing crossed my mind, but since it's a bolt on neck, appearantly interchangeable with an RG neck. Anyone with a screwdriver could change the necks. I don't think there's any way to prove it came from the factory like that. These aren't high end. And they don't come with certificates.
So you may be right after all. After reading your comment, I looked at the stuff that came with the guitar. And there is a manual that has the mismatched serial # that appears on the headstock. However the model on the paperwork is the correct one, while the one stamped on the headstock is not. Sweet!
Big mistake that shouldn't happen again from Ibanez premium guitars. Just might be showing us the way Indonesian made guitars have flaws. Or Ibanez didn't pay attention what they were doing!
What a truly bizarre story. Considering the headstock was incorrectly labeled...perhaps the place of manufacturing was incorrectly labeled too. Maybe? They, Ibanezes, are wonderful guitars. I'm wondering if the neck is wrong as you stated or perhaps you have gotten a hold of a fake. ??? Just a thought. I hope all this turns out for the best. I would have been so discouraged but regardless...it's a beautiful guitar for sure!
Yeah man, it's pretty weird. I'm pretty sure the guitar is legit. It's definitely made in Indonesia, and the website was updated to reflect that, but the quality is there and I bought from a reputable dealer. They came through with a top of the line Ibanez hardshell case too. I'm going to keep it. It's funny, the sticker on the booklet with the upc codes has the right model and the serial number matches the one on the headstock, but the headstock has the wrong model number. I'm going to chalk it up as collectable. Lol.

The neck seems really narrow. I don’t mean a thin neck, I mean the width from the top of the frets to the bottom. Seems small compared to some other Ibanez necks which are wider.
The S1070PBZ and the RG1070PBZ are two different guitars, and made with different kinds of wood and had different prices. They stopped making the RG1070’s in 2017
Thanks for the update. All I can say is that it says RG1070PBZ on the headstock, and I'm 99% sure it's not a counterfeit. Also I posted this video 2 years ago. Maybe they just stamped the model wrong? No idea. But it's real and it's unique.
@@guitarandmore69 I believe the necks are same actually. Both WIzzard and both are the 11 piece. The difference is not between the models, but time ya get them cause now they using Rosewood for fretboard (atleast Ibanez page says that also)
It’s an awesome looking guitar. I’m looking at one at the moment, but I really have to question why anyone would want to use 11 pieces of wood for any neck. To me that would hinder sustain. Your thoughts??? Nice playing btw!!
You should contact Ibanez directly about this, if they are a good company they'll get this taken care of. I'd be fucking pissed and getting a refund. Contact Ibanez bro... See what they will do for you. This is why i stopped buying ibanez when they switched over to indonesia...
mine cane with a soft case too called zzounds about it and they are shipping me a hard case for it for free i called and ask them about it after seeing your review

I wasn't asking questions, I was making a statement about the 11 piece panga panga walnut maple and purple heart neck. And why it's on the guitar. Instead of an s model neck, that's bullshit man for 1500 bucks! I don't care if the rg neck fits, it shouldn't be like that.
Can I ask where you got this guitar? I've had one on backorder for 3 months. As soon as it came in they sold it the next day even though I had a hold on it.
That sucks. Mine was on backorder too, but they actually sent it ahead of schedule by a week or so. I really don't want to mention them by name because of the issues I mentioned in the video, and they're working with me. Let's just say they're one of the biggest out there and they're my Friend ;)

Not sure what you mean by the top of the frets to the bottom. But yeah, the width across the board seems a little narrow to me too.

Thanks man. Multiple pieces of wood actually make for a stronger neck that will stay straight. I don't think it negatively affects sustain.
It doesn’t hinder sustain at all, quite the opposite. I have this guitar and the RGD60ALMS

It's not a fake, more like a factory mistake. I believe they grabbed the wrong neck. It's definitely not a fake though.

They sent me a premium case for free and the neck doesn't make it play any different, so...
