I like that you touch on the IP network not showing in the routing table until at least 1 interface for the VLAN is up/up. That us one "gotcha" I can see frustrating new Brocade engineers.

I know this video is old but I'm hoping someone can tell me if you can have multiple virtual interfaces on a vlan?

I know your question is from a year ago but I can tell you, yes

but not in the way of multiple virtual interfaces, it's multiple ip address for one virtual interface...

I wish this worked for mine. My ip route looks like yours but hosts in my vlan can't talk to each other.

Your hosts need to use the ve address as their default gateway or have a route added to the other subnet with the ve address as a next hop.

does anyone know if this video is what helps me assign a port for incoming internet from my ISP? thanks

No, this is to route between VLANs. No ports are blocked on a routed interface without adding an ACL. Can you explain what you are trying to do? Sounds like you need to port forward on your firewall or NAT gateway router.

Terry Henry Thanks Terry. So I have the brocade ICX 6430 -C12 and I have two ruckus APs that I want to connect to. The APs have been configured and I have enabled the POE ports on the switch which are powering the APs. I’m trying to find out which port on the switch to connect the LAN cable from my isp so I can get internet through the AP

@@kingsleyaddo1685 With a default configuration all ports are equal in vlan 1. You can connect your APs and Internet router to any interface and it will switch through. You will still need a Firewall or ISP router that is providing NAT between public and private IP ranges.

Terry Henry I connect led it to a port and it’s working now. Thank you. It seems to be transmitting only the 5ghz band though. The 2.4ghz has an amber color. Is that normal or I need to make some changes? Thanks again terry

@@kingsleyaddo1685 amber means the radio is working but no clients are connected. All good there, 5Ghz is preferred.
