Thanks for the shout out! 😄
Does it happen often that there's an extra card?
Still waiting on a magic Monday where there's a magician in the back doing magic tricks while he's opening packs
Making money disappear! 😆 Jk. 💰 🤑
jerma ass stream
I always assume that's what he meant by magic Monday. I am still really enjoying these even tho I'm not a gathering person but I am severely disappoint there is no wizard
They're ILLUSIONS, dad!
4:36 Deck break starts (Commons) 14:50 First uncommon 17:30 Realization of Extra card (inconsistent in deck packaging in alpha don't worry no scam) 19:00 Rares! Congrats Wubby this was a banger video and a banger stream
What is insane to me is that when I quit playing MTG the most expensive card was a mint Beta Black Lotus at $400. I thank my mother for not throwing away my stuff, that's all I can say.
Pretty neat
Back when Beta cards were worth more than Alpha because they were tournament legal (rounded corners). Wild times.
@@Pointandlaughh so are alpha lotuses technically worth more, but beta lotuses have been sold for more?
I thought my older brother was crazy for spending $15 on a pack of Legends back in the day. lol.
So what do you want for your cards?
I just don't know how you can find 60 people to drop $2k on a single random card that 95% of the time is worth $50 or less. That's impressive.
Gambling traits🥶
They all got hosed
They should have taken the 2k and bought a 2k card instead.
I see you just discovered what gambling is
Is that what they do? Why would 58 of them drop 2k and then 59 and 60 get to risk 2k for the prize cards? I can't imagine that's how they structured it. Unless your seat for 59 and 60 was RNG?
Been LOVING the work with CGC and Ancestral! they seem to be passionate about the community and the work you do which is awesome!
I'ma be real, I got emotional when this started. Crazy how few of these are left, and how few of those are real. I can feel Wubby's excitement/emotions at being able to do this.
These cards are older than me, but they look a helluva lot crisper than me, I can tell y'all that much
real
They look like $hit.
Been watching since before my friends got me into playing back in november of last year. Was able to share the stream with a few of them for this moment.
Then got to open a vip double masters box (4 packs). I pulled a foil full art mana crypt. It was a great week to watch this break and get my own big break pull.
I love rewatching these for the yap but also Wubby has gotten so good at doing these breaks with fake hands that you can’t even tell those aren’t his hands. That’s the REAL magic here.
1:09 YES dude, they should be opened. If you’re a collector then I see why you wouldn’t want to open it but the cards were made to be played not just sit there
Also if you’re a collector you should be happy that people open their packs because it makes the other ones more valuable
Or graded and will rise.
Are you at all serious? Most early MTG packs will lose 95% of their purchase price when opened. In what world is it ever worth expecting to lose $100k when you open the box?
@@richardkipphorn3309 When you care more about the cards themselves instead their perceived value
@@richardkipphorn3309Its worth it for people who are fans of MTG for more than just what the cards are worth, the fans who wanted to pay in did so knowing that the box would be opened, and Wubby just has the balls to do it so why not??
Your stance on opening products….. I agree 10000% your channel is the best ty for letting us enjoy this rare opportunity….. I am typing this in the beginning. So gooooood luck!!!😘
Tavis truly is a gem! I've been seeing him on youtube stuff for years now. He's so insanely helpful to people and always chill af.
I love seeing you open these packs man. Not only is it making the scammers sweat in their boots but I share the belief in they deserve to be opened instead of sitting in a wrap forever.
I watched wubbie open one of these before and didn't quite understand the gravity of it but in the past month I've now come to understand the absolute crazy shit that can come out of these.
Thanks bud you took me back to the good old days. Nothing like splitting a case with the gang and opening packs/starters back in the day and playing all night. I sure miss those days...
Every video I’ve seen of mtg openings they always say that omg this is the best centering they’ve ever seen most likely to convince themselves it was a good idea to open it so it makes them feel better
Please keep this up. I want to see a BL or any Power 9 pulled from Alpha. I might just cry.
Crazy to think.. I was playing back in 1993 and had a stack of unlimited duals. I wasn't one of those kids playing with moxen at the lunch table but stuff was so cheap. I wanted to spend my lunch money on an Alpha Raging River (it was like $18) because I thought the art was so cool. Had no idea how the card worked but I thought any red card with RR in the casting cost was cool. Fork was one of my favorite cards for the same reason...
This is literally how those pack/starter cracks can go! Thanks so much for doing it!
Used to own a store in the 90s , Game Master in Fair Lawn NJ, OPENED THESE and all subsequent sets like bubble gum cards, who knew 😂😢
I helped my local lgs crack 1/2 a pallet of Legends back in the day. Was the most fun I have ever had opening cards. (It kind of sucked they got the Karakas half of the uncommons, though).
Dude, sick opening. Tavis really is a wizard, fascinating guy.
I'm gonna go ahead and credit wubby for single handedly doubling the price on all of these cards.
Fuck yes. I was just about to smoke a bowl. Now I get to smoke a bowl AND watch wubby open some packs. Nice
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah cheers friend
@@ICantStopTheNoises you messed up the chain brother
Open em all, on camera of course, yes.
I can't stand people who treat MTG like a stock market, open them and enjoy them as playing cards, geez.
W opinion Wubby
I didn't expext the Cerveza Cristal chant 🤣 greetings from Chile
Note to the editor: is it possible (or not a huge pain in the butt) to add a counter that shows the total $ so far? Just summing up the dollar amounts continually
got my penjamin equipped and ready to watch this crazy break
I played back in the Revised days. Decks being plus or minus a card was rare, but it did happen.
10:17 "Generations of..."
lmao
Rares are a bit apart on the sheet but if Tavis checked it out you are good :)
There's 5 different cards that can appear with Raging River.
Meekstone occurs 9% of the time.
Watching you do this again after watching the video with Charlie is crazy. The difference in care while opening is wild. Charlie just got it like that
Forever my biggest fear is a really good repack. This one i think is safe cause of the centering. I definitely felt some relief when i saw the dark ritual though. Sure nothing crazy like a demonic tutor or at least a dual land, which is usually what it takes for me to believe it is a real sealed.
When the day comes and theres no more alpha decks to open, it will be a great day for the magic community at large.
Damn, it's a wonder there are any of these left!🤯
lol i didnt see the sleeves at first wondering wtf your doing putting post it notes on them lol
lol ive got 63 cards in alpha starter a few times in the early 90s. The cards were prepackaged 60s, and even by hand called god starters. I’ve even got 9 cards in a booster and 17 cards with 3 rares as well. You got really lucky on this one! Awesome! 🙌🏽
I'm curious if the CGC graded cards even sell. Collectors don't generally trust CGC. It's either BGS for collectors or PSA if you want to sell it right away.
The only mtg content i watch, its so much fun, thanks wubbert
Lol, fun to watch, thanks for doing this but I could never do this. Good for you
OMG I definitely want to see another Alpha starter opened!! SOOOO freaking sick!!!!! 🤘😎🤘
I love that we get to see historic stuff like that but i have one question- how does he get to open all of that cool stuff? Mega cool
Is there a stream where he reveals the gradings?
What time does magic monday start? Normal time as every other stream?
Yes, but it's not a consistent day. Not every monday, and not always in monday
@@Lomaxxx53 classic wubby
Packs are not meant to be opened. They are also not meant to be left sealed. Do what you want.
So the quality of the paper is more important that the stats? Genuine question. Does pristine affect gameplay?
for collectors yes but for gameplay absolutely not
What does the buyin cost? Just wondering, not something I'd do but it's tempting, 2k each for 120k cost?
I love that his ribbon (pin?) on his mic was blurred every zoom hahaha
Why, though?
@@orcwordlaugh1360it has a bad word on it looks like
@@orcwordlaugh1360 It has "retarded" so presumably that can make it out when its un-zoomed, forget exactly what it said
Dude I remember playing some of these cards with my older brother and uncle. Unsleaved on the table after dinner just fuckin bridge shuffling. Ugh the good old days.
Damn! Not too shabby. Great video man 😎👍
So by every alpha opening the value of the rest goes up? And if you own several, you're always smiling when someone opens these?
pretty much
Ive been watching all of these videos and I started at the newest one plus the one you guys did with Charlie. Why does it seem the older the video the cheaper the cards are getting? Did they spike recently?
Oh man I watched a video of some poor kid surrounded by crates of em ! But I do admit I’m new to this shizzle
Is Drudge Skeletons really that cheap in the US? In Cardmarket, it's ~50 euros for a decent condition one.
All the prices seemed way too low. I don't even remember the last time I saw a minty Alpha anything under 10 bucks.
Dont know which year he got his prices from but, everything is wayyy off. That counts for europe and the us.
FACTS wubby! RIP ... I agree with you... RIP don't stash. I'm all about that RIP BAY BAY
15th Wubby Video. Woo. Actual hype stream. Huge moment for the community
Im glad Wubby is doing these now. He's one of my fav content creators and Magic is one of my fav franchises but i started getting burnt out on Magic content especially during the pandemic but it feels good to watch Wubby doing it now!
Just commenting because I wanna see more of this C:
How to throw 100k into the garbage lol
That dark ritual could be worth more potentially because of the misprint regardless good pulls all around too many channels are scared to open I’m glad you’re not wubby you’re doing something I’ve not seen and allowing people to get in on pieces of tabletop history
How long and why did they use the Lil sideways looking T before changing from the word to a T and the T to modern symbol?
Man, berserk is such a good card. Worth every penny!
This is insane....wishing I knew you were ripping this deck I would've bought in!!
Some of the corners on those cards just seem off. Im looking at an alpha ive had since 96 and pulling up ones online. They match mine. Yours seem not round enough throughout the corner or something. Maybe it's the video compression.
I'm like you, I couldn't hold onto a sealed pack, but without those people (making huge $$) this wouldn't be possible.
That was like opening a case of Murders of Foreclosed Manor 😂
Most of the cards were perfectly centered, but very bad luck with centering of Giant Growth and Dark Ritual.
Isn’t the Alpha booklets technically more rare than the commons?
Yes,
There were 26,000 Alpha decks made, with 1 booklet each.
The Alpha booklet is valuable. 3 digits last I checked.

Única, grande, nuestra
Cerveza Cristal🎶
First time I see a beta pack being open
where did you even get this alpha starter from ?
Got a question that is dumb probably. What does it mean to buy into the pack? Like you buy a share of the pack like if it it cost 10 grand and there is 60 cards you pay 1/60 of the 10 grand to get one card?
very late reply but yea pretty much except this is like 100k
Open all of them. Cards shouldn't cost more than 5-10 dollars, and collectors gatekeep games.
When are we getting a CGC Wubby code??
OPEN THEM ALL!
I dont even magic but ive been waiting for wubby to do this sheeeiiiiit
Bro what house is $120,000?!
For real… my girl and I are trying to justify $350k for a shit box that’s gonna take at least a year to fix up
West Virginia houses
You can get crazy houses on lakes in northern Minnesota for that
The one we bought in Michigan was like 105,000
He's not referring to the price of the deck he's saying that a fresh Alpha Lotus would cost more than a house.
mmmmmm nostalgia my friends and I used to open whole bricks weekly back in the day
Excuse me sir, could I get the link of the picture of ur playmat? :3 please?
Don't know much about this but its wubby content but was the pack worth 30x of the total cards
Nice! Thank you all!
Where does he get the money to buy all the boxes???
It’s crazy during the 2020 boom you couldn’t find a alpha card for under $100
I still cant focus on the cards bc of wubbys table mat
Amazing! Nothing like pack fresh Alphas 😍
tavis could tell you from the print sheet if it was a scam or not lol legit he is knowledgeable af
Thanks!
I know I’m 3 comments deep now but I’m happy you’re going into a niche community I love Pokémon but I feel like it’s taken over whereas magic is played and these cards mean something it makes this lone fan happy
I don't get the prices of sealed stuff. The only way you're making your money back is by getting a lotus. At least from what I'm seeing on tcgplayer, you can get two of the second most expensive power nine and still loose a shit load of money. This is some terrible gambling.
You explained exactly why you can’t just buy sealed product for profit…
15:25 that card is more like $150-$200.
I NEED that living wall. I'm trying to get 100 copies. I have 83 so far.
Exactly. This youtuber doesn't know MtG the way he should.
I used to play with those cards all the time "back in the day", traded them all for a Toyota Supra. I thought I got the better part of the deal..... lol
Don’t mind CGC. Just wish they didn’t change from their blue labels, get rid of sub grades, and their Perfect grade. They were more strict with their grades and it was respectable compared to a certain over hyped competitor.
@Wubbymagicmonday YES TO EVERYTHING IN THIS! I agree with you all cards should be opened and appreciated, not left as some Schrodinger's TCG Box. As I watch your videos they need to be opened to make sure no one is getting scammed
Are the lands worth more bc they are still playable in tcg?
Oddly enough, there are more Alpha mountains in existence than any other of the basics. (I think it's because the Alpha Demo deck was red, but I might be mis-remembering.)
But to answer your question. Yes, people bling their decks out with old school og black border basic lands.
It's actually Forest that is the most populous Alpha card.
How much is buy ins
i would assume its roughly 2k per card if he wants to go even on the cost of the pack
How do you buy into these openings? I’d like to. How do I do it?
Check the description and you'll see the website where he drops the breaks. Next one is a Beta deck which is sold out, but he'll do plenty more.
I remember when Lotus and the jewelry were under four hundred dollars
Prodigal Sorcerer was always nicknamed “Timmy”. You called him Jewish guy lol 😂
How u know if its alfa
1:56 Waiting for the GI Joe cards.
Open them all. These were never meant to stay sealed. Games are supposed to be played. The cards yern for the sweet air
