16 Pixar Theory Connections

If you know a lot about Pixar and the Pixar cinematic universe, you know that Pixar loves Easter eggs about as much as Pixar fans love fan theories. And, they love those things a lot. Well, the culmination of those things is the Pixar theory. This is the theory that suggests that all Pixar movies take place in the same universe. If you’re wondering how this could be possible when different Pixar movies are about cars and bugs and monsters, don’t worry; you’re definitely not alone. As you can imagine, the ideas behind this theory get a bit complicated… okay - they get really complicated. Different fans have different ideas about how all of these puzzle pieces fit together and what the myriad references in Pixar movies to other Pixar movies really mean. Still, many fans agree on a timeline that folks have come up with to explain just how all of these characters have existed in the same universe at different times. It involves witches and magical doors, the world being taken over by machines, and Boo from Monster’s Inc having way more power than we thought she did. While the timeline is very interesting, we understand why some fans believe in it and others do not. We can all agree on those inter-movie Easter eggs, though, and it’s clear that they definitely mean something.
