Yes, we've been quite fortunate to fit in as many as possible whenever we go away. In the early days, it helped being a few competitions that meant going to different courses, too.
Thank you. Yes it's a very nice course. In fact if you look at the inaugural run you might be able to find my name there 😉. It's the one Dawn has not yet done so yes it's on our radar.
Not done this one yet so good info. It doesn’t look too bad (from the footage) for a potential winter venue but looks can be deceptive. Tees Barrage you mentioned was an interesting course and one of the few that I thought that I could have got lost on without marshals, very much a unique course. WW is our closest in the North East that we’ve not done so when I’m more mobile it’ll definitely be high up on the list 👍
Other Vlogs show it to be quite wet in winter. Yes I remember doing the 20 parkruns in 2 days and having to guide Simon Newton from behind at Tees Barrage. He nearly ended up in the shopping centre in Stockton.
Looks a good old railway there - firm but not Tarmac and very "green". How far can you go along this one? There isn't really any old railway ones near me in Surrey. That said the alternative "Horsham" course at Southwater goes along the old Guildford-Christ's Hospital-Shoreham line (now the Downs Link) for a very short stretch unlike the Downs Ultra which I believe takes in full 37 or so miles of it as a point to point course.
I believe it's about 3 miles in total. The one near us which the parkrun uses is 10 exactly, which lends itself very nicely to long runs and long run workouts.
I think the Monsal Trail parkrun near me is a railway one. Do I win a prize? 😅 I'm signing up for tomorrow's No walk in the park, if there are spaces left 👍
Yes you win a free parkrun of your choice. Ah didn't realise it was tomorrow. Usually the first Saturday of the month. There will be places. You can enter on the day at no extra cost with five English pounds. You'll enjoy it. Super event.
Cheers you two. Having only visited 3 parkrun venues, one of which is defunct, it must be great to have experienced so many courses.

I was at this one, and also the 10k the following day - a lovely weekend of running! Wynyard was a beautiful event though, really enjoyed it
Yes a lovely route with the sun shining through the trees. Hope you enjoyed the 10k too.
Nice to see you in the North East, my favourite and local is Stewart’s Parkrun. Would like to see you visit and see what you think!

Lovely to meet you both last weekend and we got the last of the nice weather too. It’s been raining here since!!!
Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes we've seen videos of that course when it's even raining. A somewhat muddier journey
