I have no idea why Fred Durst had so many haters, he was seriously underrated as an artist and live performer. In my opinion he deserves to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. His style of music and talent deserves more recognition.

As i'm not from the States, I wasn't influenced by the critics. Where i'm from, people really enjoyed Limp Bizkit for what it is mostly in the early 2000s . It's only years later that I became aware that in their home country a lot of people and other bands were hating on them
It’s cus you haven’t been to their shows. Lots of fights always broke out. Very uncomfortable atmosphere. They rarely try to stop it from happening too..specially Fred..he was always about “f this place up!!”. It’s one thing to say and everyone jumps around and has a good time and it’s another to grab women in their privates and start fires and beat people to unconscious. Lots of big rockers at the time didn’t like them because of that.

I remember seeing this as a teenager when I was just starting a band with my brother. This cover had such an impact on me that I remember it to this day. So iconic to me. This is the way a cover should be done. I've always loved when bands take songs and make them their own style. This is the only band I remember from that Metallica Tribute show.

I saw this in 2003 when it was broadcast, and I thought it was incredible and I still do. Here's why... the original by Metallica is a great classic thrash/ballad that has some amazing sections which build into a massive thrash finish. Limp Bizkit here took the soft parts of the song, compressed the guitar part slightly and the vocal to turn it into a rap (and with the most gorgeous use of a flanger on that guitar) with beautiful rolling bass connecting it all up. Then they keep the technical chorus, but have that awesome nu-metal breakdown with Fred getting the crowd hyped. Then that breakdown with the turntable sound MEGA and is pure Limp Bizkit. Then they copy Metallica's riff to come outta that which has loasdsa groove, back into the chorus which by this point sends me into a frenzy every time! Then Fred shouts at vocal at the end followed by an outro from that beautiful flanger effect on the guitar riff again. I've waffled, but I love it!

Truly a masterpiece. Being a die hard Trance and Hardcore fan, I love this cover more than the original one! The energy is insane and the performance is top class! After nearly 20 years it is still one of my non-Trance tracks ever!

I remember seeing this as a teenager when I was just starting a band with my brother. This cover had such an impact on me that I remember it to this day. So iconic to me. This is the way a cover should be done. I've always loved when bands take songs and make them their own style. This is the only band I remember from that Metallica Tribute show.
This is a perfect example of a band who knows their sound. They haven’t strayed too far from the original but absolutely made it a limp bizkit song

I saw this in 2003 when it was broadcast, and I thought it was incredible and I still do. Here's why... the original by Metallica is a great classic thrash/ballad that has some amazing sections which build into a massive thrash finish. Limp Bizkit here took the soft parts of the song, compressed the guitar part slightly and the vocal to turn it into a rap (and with the most gorgeous use of a flanger on that guitar) with beautiful rolling bass connecting it all up. Then they keep the technical chorus, but have that awesome nu-metal breakdown with Fred getting the crowd hyped. Then that breakdown with the turntable sound MEGA and is pure Limp Bizkit. Then they copy Metallica's riff to come outta that which has loasdsa groove, back into the chorus which by this point sends me into a frenzy every time! Then Fred shouts at vocal at the end followed by an outro from that beautiful flanger effect on the guitar riff again. I've waffled, but I love it!
The turn table solo drove it home! Fucking insane still to this day!

This cover is tremendously good in the sense that it really was adapted to their style. They made it their own very respectfully.

It is second to Korn's One cover. THAT performance was off the charts in many senses of the expression.
I don't prefer but this is a good redition of the original and it's a limp Bizkit song made originally by Metallica

This is how covers should be done. You pay homage to the original but put your own twist on it. Limp Bizkit took an amazing song by Metallica and made it their own, by adding new elements to it

Limp Bizkit always seem to get a bad rap but I have no clue why. I think their music is fun to listen to. It isn't anything profound or thought provoking but they have a cool sound. This is an awesome cover.
they get a bad rep because they are too commercial for metal fans and can't rap so when he does he pisses off the rap fans, but if you are a music fan like me and seems like you are too then you can enjoy them without all of that
