Welcome to our overview of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the top-selling plug-in hybrid in the United States, distinguished not just by its Jeep lineage and relatively reasonable pricing but also by the introduction of new features both inside and out. Despite these updates and its status as a preferred eco-conscious option, the Wrangler 4xe comes with its set of compromises: its premium cost, a less-than-ideal highway driving experience, and a significant value retention that might be a double-edged sword for some. As we delve into the details of the Wrangler 4xe, which has led the plug-in hybrid segment since 2021, making up a quarter of Wrangler sales, we'll uncover how it maintains its appeal despite reducing its engine options for 2024, notably omitting the diesel variant now only available in the Gladiator. Join us as we take a closer look at the Wrangler 4xe, balancing its eco-friendly appeal against its inherent Jeep drawbacks.

I just traded in my 2018 Jeep Rubicon for the 2024 Sahara 4xe. What an amazing ride.

I have a 22’ Rubicon 4XE. I installed a Hot Heads Headliner and it cured the highway noise by several decibels. My lease is up May of 25’. I hope the 2025 model will get that rumored upgraded battery!

I love the hybrid idea for the Jeep. When you're going over the trails and you want to just suck up nature sounds there's almost no noise coming from the Jeep even when you're pulling a hill. This could be the best of both worlds.

I'm not sure the added weight and complexity is not worth saving one gallon of gas a day. On top of that now our new Wrangler is locked out of electric AND HYBRID mode because its not available at this time. I've read some jeeps get locked in FORM but ours didn't. We have owned the Jeep for two weeks and charge almost every night. WE drive three miles to work and then 3 miles home in electric. At the end of that we have 38 percent battery left. We have done this for two weeks in 30 degree average temps while always in hybrid mode. WE have also done some errands at night before we charge and have 240 miles on the Wrangler. In that time we used about 1/5 of a tank of gas and the engine has been on in many situations. Now after two weeks all electric assist is turned off and not available and I mean all. The engine doesn't even shut off on decel or standing still. I can understand a system that prevent dry engine and months old gas from happening. But my gas is fresh and the engine has been on many times over the past two weeks. My insurance on the thing is much more expensive compared to our Durango. I pay 380 a month with 2000 down The down payment was trade equity. It is a cheaper way to lease a jeep and it is a nice vehicle but it is not an efficient electrical vehicle. If I get my next electric bills and it is 40 dollars higher or more Ill never plug this thing again as there will no real money savings. The Form did go off in about 20 miles and I have some suggestions. If you do many short electric trips make sure you push the electric only button. Even in the cold you do not want the Gas engine turning on for short periods without fully warming up. So In my case with a daily 6 mile commute make sure to push electric button and keep the engine from turning on. If the engine turns on and doesn't warm up the unburnt gas can dilute the engine and the Form system turns on the prevent that. Our battery does deplete very fast in the Winter. I hope the Summer brings more electric range.

That's insane for Insurance, that's almost doubke what I pay for a brand new sierra at4 (85k) and a brand new hinda crv (36k). I'd be searching for a different insurance company,I also have the highest amount of insurance you can get for regular vehicles (like 500k coverage). I'd definitely shop around,no way should this cost you that much unless you been in alotnof accidents.

I drive my Gladiator over 100 miles a day on the highway, honestly never thought of it as bad to drive on the road. Like any vehicle once you get used to it there's no issue. I'm usually listening to the radio so noise isn't an issue. Even though it's a soft top I can still easily hold a conversation and no complaints about the hands free phone mics from callers on the other end.

We love our 2024 Jeep Rubicon 4xe. It’s perfect for us.
Update! It’s 110 degrees F here in the AZ desert. This hybrid does not compare with our 2021 Dodge Ram that we traded in just the end of Feb. 2024. It just doesn’t cool you down in this heat! This is a lease so we will keep it until the lease ends but I do not like it as well as the Dodge Ram.

Same here. Except I have a vw Tiguan that's get minimum 28mpg. Definitely not impressed with the jeep, considering the lowest trim it's the same price as my tiguan in highest trim, it has less room, doesn't drive nearly as nice or sporty. The only thing it has over my tiguan is more off road capabilities.

I think a hybrid diesel as for the standard beside a gasoline engine, should replace the all electric idea jeep has. With the diesel in the past having very impressive range and mpgs and the same thing with the hybrid v6. A whole diesel hybrid together could being the electric and diesel acceleration, and all that torque that would come with both would make it into the towing competitive markets. And how slow diesels burn and how long the fuel lasts and bind that with the hybrid electric. You could be using very such little fuel it could may well last over a week as a daily driver. But they need to opt with a better diesel this time such as the cummins they use in the rams and etc and not a imported Italian diesel with faults. Jeep has to take on this idea and like now, i think people would go crazy, they would love this, they can go anywhere, itll be very dominant in the automobile market, and jeep is an American icon. Jeep won world war 2 against the nazis and the Japanese, the communists in the whole of the cold war until the late 80s. If this is possible and can be done, lets have debates on this topic, and others people's idea. And maybe it be such a big topic and a request, that jeep themselves can look into the idea and bring it to life. And no of that DEF bull they're making eveyone get
