I did something similar but used a variable that i checked each sensor and added it to the variable if open. That way I only get one notification with a list of open sensors
I did not see many thermostatic valve in the compatible devices. I have Danfoss Living-z connect Zwave thermostatic valves and I would like to remotely set their temperature but also get the ambient temperature from them to use in a virtual thermostat. Would that be possible ?
Good question! %device% lists the last device used in the last event. Because the last event is a "wait", it will list "elapsed time" as the device. Also, if there was not a wait event and if there was more than one device open, the %device% tag will only list one and not all of the devices.
I did that but it doesn't turn off it set tempature 60 heat and 90 cool. Works great until a senor battery dies, or ecobee change integration. I have a virtual switch to prevent be locked out.
HI, Thats an offtopic but I cand find an answer. Don't even know the right vocabulary to research for. I went for smartthings because I wanted a soft start to Home automation and one Hub controling all my things. but it just doesn't do it right. Resarching for Home Assistant now. but that seems lilke a lot of knowledge is needed. Hubitat seems to be the sweet spot. Although I have no clue where I can buy it in europe (amazon f.e. doesn't offer it at my palce). What is bothering me: A) How to connect devices which have no integration in Hubitat? Like f.e. Tuya based devices, other wifi or bluetooth devices... And B) How can I program/design a User interface for those devices? is it even possible? C) why does Hubitat not support Matta? D) HA seems to be totally open source. So it stays alive as long as the user comunity cares for it. Hubitat seems to be the company which is very open to users but not open source. But what if Hubitat is sold or just stops. Or, just doesnt want specific devices or standards to be supported.
Hubitat Elevation does fit that goldilocks zone between hubs that are too limited and the Wild West DIY solutions that will consume your life. You can purchase a European version of our hub at hubitat.com. To answer your questions: A)Wifi devices and other LAN devices are connected via integration apps. Some are built into the hub, others you can find in our online community. Sorry, there is no Bluetooth compatibility (bluetooth does not offer the range or reliability most people desire in a smart home). B) Hubitat dashboard provides a totally customizable interface for your devices. C) Matter is coming in a future firmware update D) Hubitat is not open source, but it is totally local so even if a meteor hit Scottsdale wiped out our entire company, your hub and all of your automations will still work just fine. You would also still be able add your own apps and drivers. But let's hope that doesn't happen.
@@Hubitat thank you for your detailed answer. Together with what I’ve seen on some other UA-cam channels now (the last days) I did decide to try the hubitat. And hope that it’s giving me those specific options I miss at the moment but far more with the learning curve (and maybe some coding skills) while building up my smart home. - and, I really hope there won’t be a comet hitting Scottstale ;)
Just brought a new home after renting… I plan on incorporating many smart features.

Very cool!
What you need is an automatic door or window closer.
Can we please get a video explaining how and when best to use each of the rule machine wait/delay options

Will my aqara window and door sensors work with the hub or just the matter second version?
Smart! I love the ecobee integration, we paired ours with our shades
Interesting! Sounds like an interesting automation we could feature
@@Hubitat I suppose we could make that happen :)
Could we please see a video on how to set up and use a virtual switch in alexa
Is Hunitat making more new videos?
Correct me if I am wrong here, but can't you just do one notification for all sensors and use %device% in the text to notify you which is open?

What contact sensors are you using?
Singled smart window and door sensor
How about a rule that turn's off the AC or Heat if a door/window is left open for a period of time?

@@MatthewOgden Expanded set points would work. Does your rule return the set points once the sensor closes?
@@JR-N-TX yes as soon as all doors and windows closed.
Love these videos. Give me so many ideas!
Thanks!
