Dada is a very cool style and it was the first genre that really stood out to me around the age of 10. Great video! Thank you for putting in the effort 😎
Great work Tom. Love the costumes and the subtle background music choices. Well explained but would love to hear your take on the typography of the dadaists!! Very influential in 1980's graphic design art schools 😃
Great video, I am really glad I discovered your channel ! Just a small correction Francis Picabia’s name is pronounced Picarbeeeaah and that Man Ray sculpture the gift is an iron not an ironing board. Dada would never have accepted I am too much of a pedant 😢
Thanks for the corrections! I did notice the picaba pronounciation in editing but couldn’t be bothered to change it 🤣 I also think I may have pronounced Huelsenbeck wrong too 😅
So why nothing about the Baroness Elsa von Freytag Loringhoven? The queen of Dada? One of the originators of the idea and one who arguably submitted the urinal... (with Duchamp)..she has been virtually erased from art history, Be good if oyu remedied this with an edit or a whole video, she deserves about her contributions
Hey, thanks for this comment! I'm not too knowledgeable about Elsa Von Freytag but it seems like someone I should defo look into! Its too late to edit this video now but could be subject of a future video!
The term "woke" would have been totally appropriate in the sense that you're referencing but unfortunately, in these days, you'd be better striking it from your lexicon all together.

DADA was less of an art movement, and more of a protest movement, hence it's focus on anti-art and anti-capitalism.
Where can i get some ArTheoriez merchandise
So... DADA was Punk Rock? Nice...
Pretty much
DADA was a huge influence on a number of later subculture movements, including Surrealism, Discordianism, Punk, and No Wave.
@ what’s Discordianism? Sounds cool!
Are you selling merch? 🤞
Not yet, I was gifted a one off piece of merch
It’s really cool!
