When your hands blow off like that it hurts the wrists and thumbs usually breaks one or both.
I think you may be right here. His hand blew past that grip like his thumb was not even there. It is fast, but his hand went as far down as the front wheel, handlebar hitting his chest and bouncing his upper body back up. Looks like he tried real hard, and successfully, of making sure his femurs were above the bars before he and the bike hit the ground, and he just stepped off, like the kid has the experience of a cat.
@@EarthSurferUSA Very interesting take on this. It looks like he didn't even try to prepare for the impact, but rather just relaxed because he trusted his suspension. I've never heard of having your femurs above the bars. Can you tell me more about that because I'm sincerely interested? Thank you in advance.

I've broken both wrists from racing left wrist twice and when you get up from a crash and you're immediately holding your wrist it's either a sprain or a break

I have never hit the face of a jump so hard that my hand just blew through the grip like my thumb was not even there holding the grip. He might not have broken a bone, but I bet he bent his thumb back more than it naturally bends. We will see tomorrow.

Looks more like a case of swallon plums more than the wrist. I'd say the smack to the nuts was a bigger concern than the wrist just the way he was doubled over and was cupping them as he road off
Supercross now injures more competitors per capita not only than any motor sport in the world, but any sport in the world. This is due to the faster 4-strokes that were forced on the industry by the EPA, and made to oput power the 2-stroke sop racers would have to go 4-stroke to be competitive, (It took 8 years to totally change the gate).
Someday, maybe like the 3-wheeler, we will start hearing about the many SX injuries on the news. The,--what happens?

He was holding his left wrist. But, used his left hand/wrist, to get up off the ground. I think it couldn't be too bad.

I like the kid but he's human and he just hasn't had to deal with any injuries here in the states don't know about overseas so far he has been lucky hope he is ok as want to see the entire season go without anymore serious injuries

By the way, this is the problem with rhythm sections, (as they are made to keep everybody the same speed). If you try to go faster in them, you eat it.
Correction: If you try to go faster in them, (than anybody else), you eat it.
That is the mechanism of rhythm sections designed to keep everybody the same speed, that keep them all the same speed through them. They eat it if they try to go faster. I am not cool with that in racing. Parades OK, but not racing.
Webb was cleaning that same quad Jett ate it on. They’ll be a few going “faster”, and Jett will likely be jumping it without issue.
It's quite clear people find ways to go faster in them quading when others are tripling ECT

I was standing right there when he did it. He made it look easy. I don't think anyone else tried it.... EVER. It would have taken an extreme amount of imagination first, to have even seen it as possible. Then, confidence,,, bravery overload and commitment to attempt it. THEN, the amount of sheer skill to pull it off like it was nothing. I was stunned to put it mildly. When he he got hurt, I read about it in Cycle News. I wondered what kind and how big of a jump it was that he crashed on. By all accounts, it wasn't anything like the one I saw him do. Who knows about these things?
