    The machine loading the screens is a face shovel, the type found in opencast mines, the bucket opens in the centre and dumps rather the curls it's load out, that and the Demag are in pretty good shape, as was the mobile screening plant on the quarry floor...great video....

    Yea it is a good video this one definitely, for me it makes a great change from exploring buildings to exploring machinery and as always its a really well detailed video. Really awesome tom - i can see why it has over 800k views - well deserved

      New excavators are more unreliable than ever nowadays, with computer's, common rail and emmisions bullshit fitted to them dpf regen etc pure shite the best excavators were made in the 1980s.

    Dude! If that’s your dream job, then you have a golden opertunity right there! Start’em up, make’em work and practise with’em! Any company would hire a operator that can do his own machanic work! And it would make an awesome vlog-series! It IS damn fun to operate machines like these FYI...Don’t put petrol in it tho...

    THE ENGINE'S YOU FOUND IN THE SHED ARE A MIXTURE OF V8 & V10 DEUTZ AIR COOLED DIESEL ENGINES FOR THE DEMAG EXCAVATORS SITTING IN THE QUARRY. THE V8 IS ABOUT A 10 LITRE & THE V10 IS A 27 LITRE WHICH PUTS OUT 750 HORSEPOWER.

    You said that you'd love to operate one of those Excavators..... Son, I have two words for you..DO IT !! You are young ! Take a night course ! Do it !! I'm 60. I wasted my entire life repairing cars for garages who never paid me enough, had no health insurance. No pension, No profit sharing...I have nothing.. When I was your age, I loved cars...I loved off road racing. I wanted to race in off road events...but..... I never took the time to do it. I also loved music, sound . I thought of being a sound technician for movies or rock bands..... Never took the time to do it. I also loved huge earthmovers, payloaders, excavators . I thought I'd love to work in a sand pit !...Never applied myself, never took the time. I continued to repair cars, day in....day out, month after month, year after year. Working for someone else. Getting them rich while I ruined my body. I've been a mechanic my whole life. I still tinker with my 2 antiques. Listen.... I know you don't think so now....but life goes by so fast !! My back is ruined. In constant pain. I lived like tomorrow never comes. I have plenty of time. But tomorrow sneaks up on you. You will age. So ,take my advise....Go for it ! If you don't like it. Leave it !! Do something else ! Don't let life pass you by like I did. Peace

      I caught a falling car engine 40 years ago. Now I'm almost house bound. I'm from across the pond. I can sympathise with you it's no fun some days, fed up with pushing pills down my throat that no longer do anything. I did alright for money so I'm lucky that way, even 'retired' early. The engine I caught was at home, it started to slip out of a wheelbarrow and I grabbed it. Sod put me on the floor. You are right in everything you say. Some people work to live and a few lucky ones live to work. I was lucky for a while until they closed where I worked. Nearly 40 years I put in at that place - loyalty doesn't work both ways these days. I will say one thing though, life passes you buy no matter what you do - bummer init. Take care.

    • @dadsvespa
      @dadsvespa 5 років тому +1

      @@jp-um2fr So sorry to hear that you also ruined your back. I know what you are going through. Ruining your back, is a life changing event. People who don't know say "Put an ice pack on it' "you'll be fine". Or go to a chiropractor'" " an adjustment is all you need". It fixed me right up""... And the insulting. "I have that"...'just do sit ups" and get back to work'. " That's what I did""...They have no idea what real chronic pain is. Horrible, is the only word that even begins to describe it. A friend of my sister, ruined her back. She suffered too. One day she committed suicide. She left a note saying she couldn't take the pain anymore. Very sad. I was close, to doing that a few times, but I'm still here..for now. peace

    you repeatedly walk up to these machines and declare them to be "abandoned" I would agree they are abandoned by my definition of the word. The most recent owner has walked away and has no intention of coming back to reclaim it. BUT surely these machines have titles and registration just like cars and somebody somewhere has a record of exactly who is the legal owner regardless of how long it has been sitting there collecting weeds and wildlife. my question is-exactly what is the state's definition of "abandoned and exactly who has the records of ownership of these machines?
