The machine loading the screens is a face shovel, the type found in opencast mines, the bucket opens in the centre and dumps rather the curls it's load out, that and the Demag are in pretty good shape, as was the mobile screening plant on the quarry floor...great video....
Yea it is a good video this one definitely, for me it makes a great change from exploring buildings to exploring machinery and as always its a really well detailed video. Really awesome tom - i can see why it has over 800k views - well deserved
Fascinating place and another brilliant video Tom. I like how you're getting more confident in your video editing too! I really do look forward to seeing your videos 😁 And I would love to see some of those engines started up at some point, I bet some would start without a great deal of tinkering. I caught a falling car engine 40 years ago. Now I'm almost house bound. I'm from across the pond. I can sympathise with you it's no fun some days, fed up with pushing pills down my throat that no longer do anything. I did alright for money so I'm lucky that way, even 'retired' early. The engine I caught was at home, it started to slip out of a wheelbarrow and I grabbed it. Sod put me on the floor. You are right in everything you say. Some people work to live and a few lucky ones live to work. I was lucky for a while until they closed where I worked. you repeatedly walk up to these machines and declare them to be "abandoned" I would agree they are abandoned by my definition of the word. The most recent owner has walked away and has no intention of coming back to reclaim it. BUT surely these machines have titles and registration just like cars and somebody somewhere has a record of exactly who is the legal owner regardless of how long it has been sitting there collecting weeds and wildlife. my question is-exactly what is the state's definition of "abandoned and exactly who has the records of ownership of these machines?
the value sitting there is unreal i mean besides parts just in buckets with pins you can pull about £5000 easy not counting the grabber thats another £800 on its own then once parts are sold i.e rock cages and tracks etc your gonna pull in massive scrap value on whats left.
For me only the big mill have a value!! and also the best of exavator...if you have a field yours buy it for few money restoration and sell.. take your business ! Men!"
So much money there,to me it's gold waiting to be picked ,look how many parts are there, pistons, engines, tons and tons of metal, not to mention at least one of those excavators could be operational after small investments.
Common site they run until they have spent there last dollar.. and the cost of transporting these machines to an auction yard would be 10’s of thousands of dollars so sometimes they just walk away.. safety incidents or fatalities and or environmental breaches the fines out weigh the cost to remain open.

Lots & lots of scrap value there, gas torch & lorry with a crane would net tens of thousands of pounds with very little effort.

Rick FerruccI : Probably so, or EU Insolvency Hearings.
