I've learned more about the driving stance and swing in the first five minutes of this vid than the other You Tube Golfing channels I'm subscribed to. Troy broke that whole sequence down into slow controlled stages which I haven't seen on any other my other golfing channels, (not naming names).. Sure they talk about the set up, tilt your body slightly etc and then as soon as they set up they just wallop through it as if that's all there is to it.. My driving is awful atm, (my short game is coming on though)... Started out ok when I first picked up a club just under a year back, then it went all downhill. I've been watching far too many different channels... Anyhow I'm waffling... Great video, wish Troy Mullins was my coach..

it's not impressive, it's statistical luck. He's not doing one thing right to carry forward with any skill... if he keeps up with what he was doing, he'll spend the next 30 years frustrated.

Good athletes who have actually swung something at a ball before could prob hit 300 their first time buuuuut would should a 150 in a round of golf lol (like me).

I mean, it was at a dingy range with an iron too long for me (I'm left handed so I had one choice on a club) but after going like 7 more times, investing in my own driver, and watching stance videos I'm up to 150 and I'm excited to get better. I've only been 8-9 times. 260 is incredible, the guy in the comments is just insecure af lmao

As a guy who can make a 300yd drive on occasion - you have to put in a lot of practice to even get close to generating the required club head speed and direction to get it there. And even then, direction matters more than distance when you're a beginner.

The guy at the beginning who had the 500 yard drive HAD to of hit and rolled down the cartpath. Kyle Berkshire is hitting them about 460 and his mechanics, technique and speed are 1000% ahead of the clip I just saw of him striking the ball. Entertaining video though
That's Mike Austin, the longest hitter of his day. Even into his 70's he averaged over 300 yards for his drives, and that's with old persimmon woods and wound golf balls.

my kid started golf lessons, I know nothing about the sport so i started watching golf videos to learn. Most tutorials are super boring and not interesting, this one was the complete opposite. 1000 better than most and easy to understand instructions. thanks.
I think this video was well executed. As a golf noob, I learned a lot of tips, as well as stuff like that trick with spraying stuff on the club face. Great coach, great atmosphere, great camerawork!

I took a few tennis lessons as a kid but volleyball was my main sport so I assume I could pick up a tennis serve... but I feel like the tennis pros services speeds are WILD compared to a 295 yard tee shot, which I believe to be quite attainable by amateurs. But again, I’m pretty out of touch with tennis so I don’t actually know how fast a complete beginner could pull off...
@American Hero i golf avidly and understand how rare it is and like I said I’m a rust bucket at tennis, so in my view I can see a coordinated athletic person who gets training and practices a bit hitting a 295yd drive. Heck my friend who plays maybe once a year slammed a couple 280yd bombs down the middle the other week when we played. I know I see pros regularly slamming 200kph serves on tv but how fast does the average amateur serve?

Very impressive for such little training and practice! I think if he could just get his swing path corrected, he'd probably get there. Hats off to the coaches for sure. Teaching the game to a newcomer takes a lot of patience.
5'6 130lbs with a right shoulder surgery.. not a serious golfer maybe twice or a handful of times a year. In my 30s... hit it 260 and have only been getting farther and farther

That's the average golfer.. if you aren't in that category than you'd be below average. Probably just have terrible fundamentals or your body just isn't built to swing a club like an average Joe. I golf with a lot of different people. I live in a tourist golding zone what I can say is the majority of men can hit it 240 + but have zero control of it and have a lot of break fast balls let's say. 😉 hitting 260 with ball control would be well above average ... one could also find their handicap and search what percentile they are in and that'll let ya know where you stand compared to the average Joe's and the pros

I can't tell you how many times I've played with people that "think" they hit 300... If you don't hit a ball have time to pickup your tee and you're ball still not airborne, you aren't close to 300. I carry 285-290 and I out hit all of these so called "I hit 300" and they think I'm at like 330-340, love bursting their bubble and say nope like 305 and they're 30 yards behind me.
Not with a banana slice... slight draw with new equipment and balls... yes... I'm 58 and hit 3 wood 245-250 with smooth swing. Driver is 285-295 with smooth swing. Catch 300+ down wind or downhill on a regular basis. I am 6'5" which helps with clubhead speed and still being in control.
I used to be able to hit 320 all day with little to no effort. Now, 255-265 is my norm. The body can restrict movement when things happen to it. I’m just a scratch weekend player. 1-3 rounds a week
Started golfing this year... did 2 rounds, hit the green on a drive 268 yrd drive on my 2nd round... been golf siming and ranging everyday for 8 days and been carrying 230-240 average but today i hit a 258 carry and 295 yards distance. Im 140 lbs.
I started golfing in November of 2020, and my longest drive carried 363. But that’s all I’ve got. My all around game is improving but my drive is my strongpoint. I like to imagine that I’m whipping the ball and not hitting up like most instructional videos will tell you to do.
When I played baseball we would do a drill where you faced a fence had the handle of the bat touch your belt at the same time it touched the fence. Then without moving you would practice your fastest swing without touching the fence. It trains you to pull your hands through before the bat head. Apply that to your golf swing and your distance will amaze you.
Just wondering how she measured them with a rangefinder as there is a hill in front and only part of the buildings show so wouldn't see the balls land and 267 with a big slice isn't on. No wonder they didn't use the launch monitor for accurate results even though they used it for shot tracer.

I'm a very average golfer. Like 85-91 every time. But I muscled up and hit 293 and 295 yesterday with range balls. Uts possible gentlemen. Just get those hips out early and flex every muscle in your body and turn that mf thang.
