Very informative video, straight to the point. Would really like if Piranha rounds came down to a similar price range as Flechette, but knowing the previous history, the tendency would be for Flechette to go up in price to match, instead.
Kinda what I figured, Pirhana seems kinda of unnecessary given that LL3 for Jaeger is only level 22. I REALLY liked that you show what the actual impact of each shot looks like on the armor as well as the thorax on screen, would like to see that in future ammo/armor videos.
They have nerfed shotguns into the dirt these last two wipes. The only reason to run one now is a side arm sawed off on single shot (not the bugged double shot) with magnum buck to kill scavs and save your good bullets for your main.
Hi Gigabeef, I really enjoy your content and I have a little bit of feedback for you. I think that if you take some pauses while explaining complex or long topics, those concepts would come out more clear to the listener. Sometimes you speak too fast and without any pauses, so I have to go back a few seconds multiple times just to understand what you're trying to explain. I really think taking these things into account would really improve your content. Keep up the good work!
@@melonetankberry5211 I disagree and I get what OP says. Sometimes he goes so fast and without any breaks that he leads to confusing me. I love his content but it can be frustrating.
5.25mm buckshot is still my go-to for PMC kills because of the 1 shot headshot that a single pellet can achieve. Magnum has too much recoil to be spammed out of a Saiga-12. I used to use flechette until I found out that headshots are ridiculously easy to achieve with shotguns. Once the armor hitbox update comes out I think that flechette and piranha will have an interesting place in the game, being able to shred through most of the armors that give full coverage. For now, I will stay using the buckshot to chew legs and face. Very in depth video Mr. Beef, I liked the offline armor testing!
I need to run 5.25 again, mag buckshot isn't feeling that great right now. More pellets may be the best thing with them. The worst is hitting an arm and having their flinch push it up blocking the face for follow up shots... I swear this has cost me fights. Otherwise legs are always an option!
Would be interested in a comparison between magnum buck and piranha now seeing as the blunt damage is a factor. Magnum buck is more available and much cheaper.
6:05 Also seen here but not mentioned, the mp153 is still shooting doughnuts. To my knowledge the last time they "fixed" this issue, the fix only stuck for the mp133, whereas all other shotguns had doughnut effect.
I love that if you tried to play this game without the wiki. It would take thousands of hours just to begin to understand armor and bullets and how they work. The fact that none of that information is available in game is hilarious. You need to know pen value, damage value, Armor class, material type, damage drop off, calculate penetration chance. How blacked limb damage is applied, how fragmentation actually works etc… Of all those things you have to know, in game you can only know what armor class an item is. Love the game, but goodness, it’s so opaque for seemingly no reason.
They really just need to add damage and armor pen values into the base game. It's a little annoying that I need to almost constantly have the wiki pulled up to choose the right rounds.

I constantly use a combo, which i can afford to use because i have what i think is very good movement, so you have a shotty with 1 rip shell, and have a sawed off as secondary filled with flechettes or piranhas, so you can hit someones leg or arm, and finish is ass off with the double barrel. so far worked well for me with ppl with high tier armor, plus you can bind the weapon quick change key so you can always make a quick change to your secondary anytime you want (clearly exausting you)
Last wipe I was enjoying running mixed shotgun loads of mag buckshot and flechettes alternating in the longest tub mags. I would use flechettes as the reload after this first mag dump. I found this worked very well against PMC's I ran into on raids on factory or other close range maps since I could wreck armor and do flesh damage with a mag dump. Maybe overkill, but I really enjoyed it. I like you idea of using the quick weapon change as well though if you can survive long enough to make the weapon switch.
