Lmao. Just scav into reserve and run around collecting ammo. I tend to find pp and bt all the time and occasional bs and bp. Lots of ps and always pass on US
I've always found salad packing mags to be pointless because 90% of your first few rounds in each mag are with interactions with scavs or other AI where you may or may not use multiple rounds. There's so many variables, there's no guarantee you spend your initial high pen ammo effectively during a fight with a PMC now you're left over with less optimal ammo at the bottom of your mag, what happens when you gotta dump a mag into multiple targets in succession. You're better off using well rounded ammo as a whole mag than staggering high pen vs dmg rounds. Just dump your best ammo like theres no tomorrow! It does no good sitting in the stash.

I have a designated scav mag that lives in the bottom right corner of my bag. If i have a moment before i engage with scavs, i install it with the inventory command. Doing this puts the initial magazine in my rig. Even if my rig becomes fully populated and reloading would cause me to drop a mag, it will just be the scav mag that is lost. If i finish the engagement calmly, then I manually pull it out and put it back in the corner. Refill it with whatever garbage ammo you find through the raid, or bring a loose stack in the bag for your scav mag. I tend to find plenty of ps ammo, so that's what i would use for the 545 example.
I didn’t understand the loop but now I do, so simple! Thank you for the thought process behind them it’s really helpful. I think mindset and in depth concepts is very needed for Tarkov and a niche that needs filling since it does have a lot of MMO style qualities. Thanks for the hard work!
Mindset is the most important. Aping exactly what you or anyone else does is less likely to be effective, the farther you diverge from a given playstyle.
The ammo preset is one of the best QoL upgrades we've ever gotten. It gets used before almost every raid i do now. Even super basic 10 ap, 15 filler and 5 tracer packs make a world of difference. Never thought of looping tracers in for point fire, but that will be worked into my CQB packs going forward

Just a heads up - last time I tested this the magazine packing will not automatically use NON found in raid bullets first. It just uses whatever is in your stash.

My first idea just from the first few seconds of watching the magazine preset packing process was to put tracers on the bottom of my magazine so i have a visual indicator as to when my magazine is low (in the event that I am spraying or fighting for too long that I can't pack mags or check magazines)

i am using a 7.62 mag with 5pp then 5 ma1 ap top loaded, 1 us then 2 bp in loop and bottom load however many pp depending on mag size to finish them off. recoil feels nice, head tappers on top with max armor behind it and followed up with recoil and good enough armor pen
I load my pistol mags with 10 rounds AP6.3 on top and PST in "the loop". If you just pick the top amount of bullets and only put one in the loop, it will fill the loop to the bottom of the mag.

Great vid, i usually just run a 10/20 split or 50/50 split of higher pen on top and then PS type ammo below, then a stack of the high pen to top mags off with in raid. Also, I just joined your discord yesterday and had some raids with the gents. Good times! 👍
I still don't like this because it lacks consistency, I'd much rather have the same ammo all across the mag so I know if I spray someone I still have the same tier of ammo to continue shooting after a spray. If it really comes down to using 2 different ammos, I take 2 different mags, one with high tier ammo for dealing with PMCs and one with low-ish tier ammo for scavs, but I like consistency. Great vid on the subject tho!

I once was using the rpd short for fun but I mistakenly loaded a 100 round drum mag with BP 7.62. Instead of PS BP mix. I ran into a 4 man squad so I just went prone and held down mouse one until they were almost all dead but one. I think I only hit 12 out of 100 round drum.

Almost all sentences have a "go ahead", several have two or even three "go aheads". Funny enough, I remember watching you a couple wipes back - didn't remember your name, but I remember getting aggravated hearing "we're gonna go ahead and go ahead and go to Factory" or smth similar.

It's min-maxing to a degree that will 99% of the time not matter, but CAN potentially secure an extra kill. Personally, I think getting all the ammos together seems like a nightmare, so I wouldn't use it ASIDE from bottom loading tracers into my magazines so that, if I'm in an extended fight or spraying, I know when my magazine is low based on the fact that it's suddenly firing tracers. Edit: Plus I bring ammo to pack in raid anyways so not 100% helpful but still interesting to try.

What you goin do when you miss the half of the mag in front of me with bad aim-lock or smth else situational like cover-fire to humble the enemy... 1-1-1 is godtier loadout change my mind.

I'm thinking of red tracers at the end of large mags to signal, that you are running low on ammo in that mag while shooting.

This makes gearing up super fast, its a preset so you only do it once.

For me i load 10 bs/bp then rest pp for 545 becuase bt doesnt have that much more pen than pp for the recoil increase to be worth

7n40 is Armor piercing, please research the ammo chart before calling my advice wrong.
